We took the Puttgarden–Rødby ferry to arrive in Denmark and had the pleasure of staying at this hotel. After the long drive through Germany, we could not have been happier to stop here. We especially enjoyed having dinner in the calm and peaceful dining hall, and the garden was absolutely lovely. Breakfast was plentiful. The staff was very attentive and friendly. We traveled with our dog, while she wasn’t allowed indoors, there was a beautiful garden area where we could enjoy drinks together, which was a great alternative.

The bathroom in the annex was a bit outdated.

I booked this hotel because of the history and craftsmanship. I'm a historical building nerd and this was heaven for me, to see how beautifully it was built and decorated, every nook and cranny something new to look at and marvel. I came alone and enjoyed my stay immensely. The building is stunning along with the grounds. The bedroom well equipped and very comfortable. The staff couldn't have been more attentive. The food, wow, exceptional. Highly recommend. A special place.

That I had to leave.

This hotel is adorned with beauty both within its walls and in its grand facade. While one might assume that such elegance would only be skin-deep, this is certainly not the case here. The architects of its interior spaces have masterfully crafted a haven of comfort and convenience. Clearly whoever was in charge of room design has done an exceptional job, ingeniously utilising every inch of space (in even their smallest room) has used the limited space very cleverly with loads of organisers, electrical sockets , hangers etc so no guest shall find themselves wanting for practical amenities. The rooms have beautiful views into the garden -which probably has a master gardener who maintains the grounds full of local and exotic trees. Many thanks to Sol and Juan who made our trip very memorable.

The hotel is breathtakingly beautiful, and is set on a property with rolling fields, forests and the bay nearby. There is also a very nice art museum and nature paths all around. The bedroom in the annex was comfy and the view towards the garden was lovely. The food at both breakfast and dinner was very good! The staff was both welcoming and pleasant to talk to.

It is a superb location. Love the garden and the art museum. Well worth a trip, enjoy the historic value of this unique property. We will come back in the near future:)

The annex needs an update and some tender loving care. Unfortunately the room did not match the location and our expectations. We recommend to stay in the main building!

This is an amazing place. A mansion with plenty of history. A little off the beaten track, so make sure to book a table for dinner in the restaurant. The food was very good. Located in a lovely park with a moat around it. Very picturesque and unique. We stayed in the main building in Bodil de Norregaard’s room with a four-poster bed, not the most comfortable I have slept in but the room was authentic with a lovely view of the park. It was clean. The wifi worked as expected, parking is free and the breakfast was very good. Would recommend for a different experience to your normal hotel nights.

Nothing much to complain about. There are a lot of stairs in this building, so if you have problems with that, this may not be an ideal place.

it was a beautiful location, great place for walking and enjoying nature. We also really enjoyed the museum which is right next door. The room we stayed in was large but the bathroom was disappointingly small. The bed was comfortable but the eco friendly linen was terrible, so uncomfortable on the skin, so really needs improvement. We enjoyed a superb dinner in the restaurant and would highly it. The breakfast was also very good.

as above the bed linen was uncomfortable. Also staff could do with selling the property and activities around the hotel, they couldn’t really be bothered.

The staff was exceptionally friendly and sweet. We enjoyed a very friendly welcome and a little chit chat during our dinner was also pleasant and added to the good atmosphere. The location is also perfect. We like to visit the gardens during summer and this time we added the overnight stay which was a great experience.

Very nice old stately home in magnificent surroundings. The grounds are stunning. Lovely breakfast with the best homemade mysli and ymer drys.

The breakfast room is a bit dark, shame as the breakfast is very, very good.

A very beautiful manor and absolutely stunning park around it, complete with a wall and a moat! Very romantic and makes your vacation truly marvellous. The manor has a bar and a restaurant which I wouldn't hesitate to recommend in its own right. You can sit inside and admire wood carvings and paintings or you can sit outside and watch beautiful skies. The staff is really accommodating and they made every effort to make our stay absolutely wonderful, even if we were not the easiest guests: we arrived about 40 minutes past the latest check-in time and had a corgi along.
