Our time in Guilin was the best part of our vacation. The location was great, the hotel was cozy and clean, and the staff were friendly and very helpful. The tours organized by the hotel were a great success. Robert, the driver who took us and walked with us through the rice terraces, spoke very good English and was a great tour guide. I highly recommend it :)

I’m so glad we found this hotel in Guilin after a long day on the train from Beijing. The staff are incredibly welcoming and helpful, and they made all our arrangements for tickets on the boat to Yangshuo and a driver for a much cheaper price than anywhere else I looked! The room was really lovely, great amenities and spotlessly clean and spacious. The hotel is on a he river (? Canal?) so the view from our window was lovely as well as a great place to wander around. We ordered breakfast which was delicious - I highly recommend this hotel!!

We loved everything about this hotel!

Great hotel at a very convenient location with comfortable beds, relaxing shower and good breakfast. Most of the staff speaks English and they are very helpful. We also booked 2 tours at the hotel, a boat cruise to Yangshuo and a full day tour to the Longji rice terrasses fields and minority villages. The tour guide Robert was very kind and professional, he told us a lot about the Chinese culture and when we came back he even helped us to buy a Chinese sim card at Guilin! I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel and going with Robert on a tour.

We had a great experience during our stay! The hotel staff were friendly and incredibly helpful. David, in particular, stood out—he was very personable and took the time to share interesting facts about the local history. He also offered excellent recommendations for restaurants and places to visit, along with clear directions. The location is ideal, with Elephant Trunk Hill and the Sun and Moon Pagodas just a short walk away. One of the highlights was passing by a nearby park in the early morning and watching local residents perform traditional dances —a lovely glimpse into daily life here.

Super clean well-appointed room right on a tributary of the Li River. Very friendly English speaking staff who will come pick you up at the train station. He also aranged a tour for us at the tea plantation and took us there. Waited there while while we did the tour and then brought us back. You won't find this level of dedicated service anywhere in the west. I highly recommend the tour. 10 minutes walk to elephant trunk and the moon towers. Small park across the tributary where local musicians gather in the afternoon and you can listen to them. Sing and do traditional dance from your room.

Very warm and very humid this time of year

The property is in a very convenient location in the middle of Guilin only a short walk away from the central square, Elephant Trunk mountain, the main train station, and a neighborhood alley with tons of great local food and breakfast options. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and had a relaxing natural wood vibe. The staff were also very helpful and personable, providing a full set of recommendations on what to do and where to go during our stay in Guilin. They also helped us coordinate a drive from the west railway station. I also had a great conversation with who I think was the owner about tea on the morning we left. There's also a rooftop terrace that became my favorite spot to welcome in the morning and close out the evening!

I don't mind a stiffer bed, but others might not be as used to them so be aware that your bed might be firmer than you're used to. Also, some of the electronics and outlets in my room weren't working properly, but those didn't really hinder how much I enjoyed my stay in Guilin at all.

A charming place with friendly staff. Some staff spoke English, others did not, but we made it work with translation apps as needed. Breakfast was a good value and very convenient. Location is good, but it is a 15-20 minute walk to the tourist spots in town. The free washing machine with plenty of room to hang dry your clothes on the roof was very welcome. Comfortable platform bed and amazing air conditioning! Nice bathroom as well.

I would've been nice to have a rack to put my suitcase on. But overall, a very nice place to stay.

Very good boutique hotel, 'King room' on 3rd floor almost perfect. Excellent location on the river, lots to walk to. Breakfast was extra, but surprisingly, very professionally prepared. Staff, especially manager David, very helpful. This hotel was the best value on our China trip.

The lower floor rooms are less impressive though one had it's own garden patio, most rooms do not have river view, and the adjacent buildings are pretty rough. Even the exterior of Riverside Inn might make you question the quality when you arrive.

Staying here was an absolute pleasure. Our host David was really a gem, responsive on wechat all the time, weeks before our arrival he helped us arrange a van with a driver to visit the rice terraces, Li river cruise, pick up in Yangshuo, a performance there, transfer to the airport, with equally friendly driver and an upscale van- all for a super affordable price and no upfront payment. All of the latter would have been incredibly difficult or expensive to arrange on our own. The 2 rooms our family stayed in were huge, clean, mosquito nets on the windows, with a bathtub on the balcony, breakfast options are wide enough for just about anyone and you can easily walk to the Elephant trunk hill and other major sights in the centre. A taxi back will cost you just 1.50 EUR or so. Can't recommend it enough.

Fantastic customer service and the staff could not have been more helpful. We were given a full explanation of the local ‘must see’ areas, and we opted for a two day tour package which we feel was fantastic value. This was private with a personal driver who spoke brilliant English. The driver, Robert, was incredibly knowledgeable and gave us a lot of information about each place we visited. We had the option to customise the tour to suit our own taste. We had a wonderful experience of Guilin and Yangshuo. Aside from the great tour, every staff member was very accommodating and helped us with tasks such as laundry and food delivery. They even recommended some fantastic local restaurants, a roof top bar and a coffee shop. We cannot complain about anything. Thank you for a spectacular stay!!!
