After extensive research on all accommodation on Juara Beach The Barat came out on top. Were we expecting luxury? No. Were we expecting good pre communication and did we get it? Yes. and no, they missed us off the list for a 4 by 4 pick up from Tekek jetty. The size of the room was good. Air con worked well. Lounges with cushions at the beach but not the beach loungers. Rain shower. Always plenty of hot water. An efficient arse blaster! Great pool about 20 metres. Plenty of cold and hot water stations to refill your bottle. Hair-dryer. Kettle and fridge in room. No sand flies on Juara and not outside The Barat Resort. Despite the negatives listed above we were glad we chose it after reading other horror stories!

Curtains not thick enough. Beds rock hard. Lumpy pillows. Insects came in up the drain as in cockroaches. You do need to bring your own mozzie plug ins. 10 per cent service charge on all food even if you reach for the ice cream yourself from the freezer and walk over to reception to pay for it! Food most expensive on the beach. But, not outrageous for Western prices. TOWELS too much softener used, so did not absorb. Beach towels 100 per cent microfibre...ewwww. Nothing is gourmet on a Malaysian island remember. It's not a Western standard 4 star. Cleaning needs improvement. I left room 231 cleaner than I found it! Not joking. Scrubbed the sinks, cleaned the taps of water stains, wiped toothpaste marks off the walls, cleaned mirror stains and removed dust from behind the headboard area.

some of the amazing staff I have seen in a while in a resort, especially the guys working at the restaurant bar are awesome, the place itself is awesome with the most spectacular beach in the island, we stayed there for 3 nights and it was just fantastic. I think you can’t find a better place in this island then Barat Tioman.

Room was spacious, modern and clean. Amazing location right on the beach. Pool was great to use as well. Staff were really friendly. The reception staff upgraded us on arrival, Sharif and the maintenance team helped out with any questions we had and the boat trip crew that took us snorkelling were great.

The on site restaurant was not the best for food and was higher prices than others in the area

We arrived at the end of monsoon so the island was almost empty. Lucky for us, because we had the greatest time ever! This hotel was excellent in every aspect! The room was clean and well equipped. In the restaurant, both the food and the service were amazing. The 4WD transport was always on time! And the BEACH in front of the hotel is absolutely amazing! The staff was extremely kind and helpful! The lady at the front desk was able to instantly organize a hiking trip to the Dragon Horns, with boat transport and the most amazing local guides we could have. About the Dragon Horns: It's not the easiest hike but the reward is well worth it! The boat trip is a lot of fun too. I still recommend to ask about activities in advance. I just wanted to highlight the helpfulness and skills of the staff. We had a very good experience and I really recommend this hotel! So, if you are wondering if it's worth the extra ride to this side of the Island, the answer is YES!

My package did not include breakfast, but overall, my stay at The Bharat was very satisfying. I originally booked a Superior Room, but the staff kindly upgraded me to a Deluxe Room. All the facilities were excellent. You can rent bicycles and e-bikes, there are swings, and many recreational activities can be enjoyed here. Will definitely be back!

The room was really amazing. Really nice swimming pool. Daily BBQ was good. Beach bar, hammaks, tables and chairs were brilliant. Good vibe in general.

Non BBQ food was not that good, also although offering food "a la carte" some simple dishes or even some slices of toast are only offered at certain time of the day. Restaurant staff made a mistake with one of our orders and then made us pay extra for it. For non BBQ food highly recommend the local restaurant that's just next door, food is amazing and it's really cheap and and the staff is very professional. Was there for 4 days and apparently they were fully booked for diving, not even availability for one dive. Some works were going on so had lots of noise as from 9am.

Located on beautiful beach. Booked a Standard room (thankfully) which was located away from swimming pool but close to beach. The room was spacious, cute and very comfortable. Restaurant had great selection of food and reasonably priced and there were a selection of other restaurants nearby. Beach facilities were good with loungers and umbrellas. Would recommend Snorkelling trip even though coral was dying.

No ferry to juara beach so getting across the island required a 4wd trip. Cost should be included in accommodation cost

We stayed in a villa with jacuzzi near jungles.The view was nice.We could observe sunrise from our terrace.The room was clean.It was always quiet on the top cause the pool,lobby and restaurant are downstairs.Staff was friendly.The beach is quiet,big and good.

Nothing was bad.The food was better,than in other hotel which we visited before on the island.

Good location - beach, food, waterfall and etc. Good food variety - can choose barat \ coconut or island cafe. Can go to excursions from the place. Friendly and helpful staff. Value/Money. Shower/Toilet.

Car service was late. Twice. Wi-Fi awful - very often disconnects from the room. Sometimes happens blackouts (minor), usually at the same time.
