Our stay was perfect. To be completely honest, there were a few (very!) minor things to improve on: some of the staff was obviously new to the job, the wine list was composed of one red and one white wine, some of the facilities were not finished yet (e.g. dive shop). That being said, everyone was super-friendly, helpful, motivated - we had an absolutely great time, my daughter and me. No problem stayed unsolved. The rooms were more than comfortable, the architecture of the place is beautiful, the setting on the beach and near the pool is gorgeous. If somehow possible, we will return, hopefully with all of my three daughters. Warmest thanks to the management of the hotel and of the group (and to the operations team), who are doing a difficult job in a complicated legal, tax, technical, etc. environment, but who recruited a team of motivated and cheerful young people putting real effort in their work, who are thriving for perfection, and who earned my admiration for the open-minded attitude to improvement and learning. Bravo! On a side note: we hiked in the jungle, we went for diving, was real fun. All (perfectly!) organised by the resort.

The trip from Singapore is a bit tiring - the ferry brought us reliably there and back, but that seems not always to be the case. The local hiking paths could be improved, and made safer. Tioman is a pearl, a little bit of investment would make a big difference.

Our family of 4 (children aged 8 and 4), just arrived back after a 6 days stay at the Boat House and what an experience it was. We were picked up at the jetty pier moments after our arrival by the very kind staff of the Boat House.Upon arrival we were absolutely amazed by the beautiful surrounding of the resort, with the long sandy beach, beautiful mountains in the back.. . Our cottage was styled with a wonderful romantic, modern yet local style. The main bedroom and additional children bedroom were very spacious, clean, equipped with 2 bathrooms and everything one needs for a relaxing holidays. The most amazing part of the cottage was a dreamy terrace, right on the wonderful sandy beach just steps away from the sea. It was wonderful to sit there, relax, listen to the waves, look at the stars, play board games with the children or just talk.. Meals offered a buffet option as well as several additional dishes that could be ordered . Chef Zul was amazing for making additional non spicy dishes for our children that were not used to spicy food. All the food was delicious. The resort offers also a game room with vintage video games and traditional Malay games that we enjoyed playing with the children. The resort offers several activities. We went for a snorkeling trip which was beautiful. We were taken to an amazing beach (Coral Island) and other points where we could see baby sharks and an amazing sea life. We can not thank enough all the staff, especially Thevan and Felix for making us feel so very welcome, for their help no matter what our needs were, for accommodating us for extra nights as we wished to stay longer, despite the fact that the resort was fully booked and for caring even once we were gone. We are grateful to them for helping us create memories that will last a lifetime. In the craziness of everyday life it is finally a place to stop, breathe and reconnect with yourself and your family. We will be back soon

The only thing we were less lucky with, was that we came at a time of stronger winds and waves which made the sea water a bit murky, however the beautiful pool more than made up for it.

The resort is isolated and has its own private beach. Though the beach right in front of the hotel isn’t very suitable for snorkelling, you could leisurely take a swim during the low tide (every morning till late evening more or less), before taking a dip in the pool. The pool is super clean and excellently located facing the sea, a very relaxing place to chill on a hot day. The staffs are super friendly and the accommodation is very clean.

Beach front location

We stayed at the Boathouse for 8 nights and are delighted with our choice! This hotel has been open since the beginning of July and has an excellent team of young people who are very attentive to our expectations and needs. We had a buffet breakfast included in the price of our room, which was quite full. The restaurant menu is not very varied, but the possibility of choosing the buffet in the evening allowed us to try lots of things. The hotel also offers activities and excursions. For a launch, the services are quite decent and the setting idyllic. Thanks to Ravin, Prim, One, Zai and the others for their welcome ! We will be back

Very new, great accomodation on a fantastic beach. Staff were happy and lovely but still learning the ropes.

Some alcoholic drinks are available, but it’s very much an afterthought. No cocktails available at all despite the superb tropical location and a “beach bar” and a very short and poor wine list (actually there was no list - it was neccesary to view the bottles themselves). Acknowledging of course that it is a Muslim country, I still think you either do alcoholic drinks properly or make clear that you do not do them at all.

It is new and clean. As it was close to monsoon season, very few guests. The staff did try to show how to play some local games.. secluded due to the nature of Tioman island. Only 1 restaurant but the chef did try to accede to individual meal request that is not on the menu.

The flying ants were an annoyance when they came out in the evening after the rain. Nothing much you can do as this is set in nature. The canopy over the bed is interesting.. with the ceiling fan and Aircon blasting away. You could hardly feel it reaches out to you sleeping under the canopy. Bed is a bit on the soft side

The property is in a great location. The rooms were excellent as were the shared facilities, pool, gym etc

The service didn’t match the surroundings. It is trying to be 5 star and yet on the one hand the staff were somewhat over attentive (arrival, whenever a signature was needed) or slow (to take you order, to remove plates etc) . We stayed at more of a backpacker place just prior and they had the last piece better organised effortlessly

Beautiful remote location and very charming, clean and beautiful bungalows in a paradisaical setting. We also really liked the bar, pool and restaurant area with perfect beach views and the exceptional friendly stuff. The diving was fun and very well organised. Food was ok although some things weren't available at that time. There are also couple of activities on offer like boat trips etc. but these were a quite expansive compared to what you pay elsewhere.

Beautiful resort, small and not busy. Away from all the boat traffic and harbour. Great activity centre with a great snorkelling trip.

No where to walk apart from along 300m of beach. Shame there are no paths in the rainforest behind to explore without guides from the resort. Restaurant food was good but didn't blow us away.
