Myra Hotel Mersing is a small hotel in the center of Mersing town. Location: Myra Hotel has very central and comfortable location. Bus station and ferry boat station/jetty were 10-15 minutes of walking distance from the hotel. ATM, shops, supermarkets, restaurants, bank are just outside of the hotel. Room: I was provided with comfortable size room with window. There was a queen size bed with clean bedsheets and pillows, towels, an electric kettle, glasses, bottled water, a small console table with chair, a TV, an air conditioner, cloth hangers, a bedside table and a bench. There was an en-suite bathroom with hot water and soap. Walls in my room were dirty, with marks, stains and cracked in some places, but it was not an issue for me. I felt some humidity in the room. But I think it is a problem of all buildings located at the tropical sea shore. Free Wi-Fi internet worked very well in my room. I noticed water cooler/dispenser and iron board with iron in the hallway near stairs. I don’t know if it is for hotel guests or for somebody else. There is a deposit of 50 ringit. I don’t know for what, just know about it. Overall, it is a good place to stay for one-two days before/after going to Tioman island. You will have everything needed for modest but comfortable stay.

When I washed my hand in the bathroom, all water was leaking on the floor and canalization hole. But it was not an issue for me. Hotel deserves some love and care in order to shine. There was also some long and loud noise coming from pipes (like water is running non-stop).

The staff is friendly and the room meets my expectations. It is value for money especially for a short trip that I had.

The hotel didn’t provide parking. However, the staff was able to tell what could be done to avoid summons from the Municipal Council. But I wish they would tell us the parking coupons are not needed since it is Saturday (It is like Sunday for us in Melaka where parking coupons are not needed on Sunday since there is free parking on Sunday).

It is a very good hostel for a decent price. The big plus is the proximity to Mersing Pier for the cruise to Tioman Island. If you have a morning ferry, this is a perfect place to stay. A 24-hour reception is very helpful.

Nothing to complain about.

We arrived in Mersing via ferry from Tioman Island and was way too early for check-in. Staff let us leave our bags there while we went out for breakfast and then when we came back to just sit for a bit, she let us check-in which was a really nice escape from the heat! Room is as pictured, we got two very comfy single beds, the aircon worked great, the bathroom was good. We had some leftover fried rice and they let us keep it in their drinks fridge! We only stayed for one night but it was probably one of the comfiest beds we've had yet! Oh and it was walking distance to a bunch of restaurants and the 7/11.

The stairs but that's cause I'm unfit haha. But just so you know there are no lifts.

Walking distance from the bus station and Jetty. The young lady on reception was very helpful and happy. The room was big enough for one night and A/C worked well. Despite some reviews we have read wefound the locals and restaurants nice and friendly and had no problems walking around shopping and eating.

The bathroom needs an air freshener but nice and big.

Strategic location for those who wants to go islands hoping. Got parking area in front of hotel. Customer service is excellent. Cheapest and nearest the jetty. Got mamak restaurant across the side.

Stairs. Haha. But doesn’t seem a problem for those not on a wheelchair.

very near to the mersing jetty just a short walking distance, near a mamak stall open 24 hours. there’s a water station for refill with hot/cold/normal water for free.

Great value for money when staying in Mersing. All staff were lovely and really helpful, they let us keep our bags there after checkout as our ferrry to tioman wasn’t until 4pm. Decent size room and en-suite for money.

The staff was great. They even kept a bag for us as we were traveling and coming back later. They are available at reception 24/7, which is great when you arrive in the middle of night! Room is okay. A great place to sleep before taking the ferry to Tioman.

No shampoo or toiletry
