Fairly small private game reserve - perfect for those who haven’t been on safari before as it’s relatively relaxed and they know their animals very well. Johannes, our guide, was fantastic - knowledgeable, considerate and a great driver ! The vegetation is sparse so they supplement diets but all the animals looked healthy. The food was very good , although morning pre-safari snacks were very sparse. Only got damp towels after one drive , which seemed odd. Accommodation was lovely - great towels !!! Pool & surroundings very nice . Our room wasn’t ready on arrival but spent an hour by the pool while we waited. (No leopard here).

It’s a long way on a gravel drive but it was ok. That (and no under 4’s ) maybe puts some people off but that’s probably a bonus. Sometimes drinks and desserts’ services were slow. Could do with milk in the room - there is a kettle & coffee machine.

Amazing game drives in the mountain scenery. Good food, very friendly staff. Had an amazing 2 nights there. Can fully recommend this to drive from Capetown for a safari. They have all big 5 animals.

My son and I had a brilliant time at Inverdoorn. From the friendly receptionist Praise to the the Game Rangers to the waitrons, all of them were superb. Jacob served us most days at meal times and was very friendly and service was efficient and nothing was too much to ask for. We had the best Game Ranger Fanwell, incredibly knowledgeable and hard working. He took us on all our game drives on our week stay and we felt very safe in his hands. We loved the food, very tasty and presented well with a variety to choose from everyday.

We had a problem with the electricity tripping evertime we used the kettle or coffee machine. Hopefully they sort it out soon.

Very personalized service, staff all very friendly and happy to assist with all requests. I loved the open fire and the room, and it was all set up for us when we returned from dinner, I just had to light the fire, really a nice touch. The game drives are really nice as going with max 9 persons on one van. Morning game drive in winter is very cold, but we were provided with hot water bottle and blankets. I would highly recommend this resort if you are looking for a quiet personal real safari experience.

While the food was nice, I think they are trying to be too fancy with the food. Would have preferred simpler and more South African dishes that can add to the experience on being in the bush. With the set menu selection for lunch and dinner, I would suggest a vegetarian option on the menu.

was a great experience. a short drive from cape town which is what we were looking for. we booked a transfer from the hotel, it arrived on time and was very comfortable. the room looks better than in the pictures, it was spacious and very clean. the food was great, especially the breakfast. the safari was amazing, it was our first experience, we saw all the animals very close, our ranger Ashley was very professional. also included a lot of nice bonuses, such as free welcome drinks, star experience at night was very beautiful.

That we booked only one night

This was a great thing to do for overnight trip from Cape Town. I didn’t think it would be as well run and it was more high end than I thought it would be for price. Food was exceptional and lots of extras ie star gazing experience all included. I have done lots of safaris and although private gated reserves are different to the big national parks they are still really fun and enjoyable and this was no exception. Would hundred per cent recommend.

This game reserve lodge was absolutely fantastic. Included in the price was breakfast, lunch, snacks in the pm and dinner. The food options were actually good (i’m suprised!). Also, included in the price was an afternoon game drive (when you arrive) and a morning game drive before you leave. Staff were amazing here and a big shout out to our driver Fanwell (spectular guide and he was really good about teaching people about the star constellations). Last but not least, the bedt thing is the animals - there’s quite a variety - lions, zebras, hippos, rhinos and leopards (the big five), as well as giraffes, springbok! Absolutely great and affordable experience!! Thank you

Just note this is a game reserve lodge so smaller than an actual national park so naturally there are less animals. Despite this, the land is so vast and it was so exciting seeing the different animals. Just note as this is a game reserve, theres quite a bit of flies near the food and moths in rooms!

These were top things I noticed in poor reviews: Food: Every meal was a buffet. I found the food to be tasty, healthy and with plenty of options. Game Drives: my favorite review "this isn't the serengeti"...correct, the map will tell you that!! while it's not a true wilderness it is also NOT a zoo, you are truly gonna go searching out animals! And you'll see them so close the wildlife will BLOW YOUR MIND! Staff: kind, always willing to help; some friendlier than others but that's how it works with humans Accommodations: totally comfortable and clean; if you're able to upgrade to Deluxe it is worth it for space and privacy

Felt very remote and peaceful. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was plentiful and good quality.

I wish we had been warned about the long drive on gravel roads to reach the property. No mobile phone reception in the vicinity so if you’re relying on Google Maps to find the location, you need to download the maps before you go. Booking.com said check-in was 2.00pm but when we got there we had missed the welcome drink, orientation and lunch. Arrival should have been 12.00. Our chalet had minor faults that had not been repaired. The air conditioning was leaking water onto our patio and there was an issue with the 2 sections of the door not operating together.

Booked for one night, and it was an amazing experience worth every penny. Some say it’s expensive, but after visiting we don’t think so, seems like a really good deal. You will have a schedule of activities, and we recommend you stick to it with arrival at around 12.30. We were given a complimentary upgrade to a ambassador room, which was a really nice touch, thank you. The room was stylish and spacious, warm air conditioning is provided. No problems with parking. Food - brilliant. Breakfast and dinner are served at a restaurant with a fireplace inside during winter period. In the evening they also offer complimentary stargazing experience, enjoyed it a lot. Safaris are amazing. Johannes is the best ranger you can wish for as your guide. Be ready to wake up at around 6 am and wear warm clothes. This was our first game drive experience, so if you are not new to that - experience may differ, i guess. Lions and cheetahs are really kept separetely from other animals, but i guess there are reasons for that.

Not that many power sockets, my side of bed even lacked one at all. Wifi - not brilliant but ok
