Our stay at Njalo-Njalo Safari, near the Aquila Game Reserve outside Cape Town, was incredibly comfortable and relaxing. The staff were exceptionally kind and welcoming, with special thanks to Daniela and Happiness, who made us feel at home throughout our visit. The resort arranged a fantastic safari where we had the unforgettable experience of seeing the Big Five. The food was very good, and we particularly enjoyed the unique self-service bar. Overall, the hospitality and service at Njalo-Njalo Safari were outstanding and played a big part in making our holiday so memorable. We would definitely stay here again — and it's excellent value for money, especially compared to Aquila.

The breakfast was delicious and definitely value for money. Please try the omelet, one of the best I have ever eaten!!! The location is great and not too far off the N1. The atmosphere is tranquil and quiet. The perfect place to recharge before returning to the fast everyday pace.

Booking.com advertised a private pool with the room. There is one little pool next to the gym facilities, but can definitely NOT count as a private pool. So please tourists, do not expect one. There is however a fantastic large pool next to the restaurant which we thoroughly enjoyed. The kitchen does not contain all that you may need if you go there to cater for yourself. Rather use the restaurant. The food is delicious and you get to relax without worrying about preparing your own food. The braai facilities are nice and had all that we needed.

The staff were so so so lovely. For the price and what you get we felt it was incredible value, lovely scenery to look out on, a pool, nice shaded areas to escape the heat, incredible sunsets. There is an honesty bar with pool and other games. We have no kids but there was a really great sized kids play area and trampoline. I also cannot emphasise enough how great the staff were, from check in to meals! We did a one day aquila Safari and the location was great as it is a 20-30 minute drive (depending on car as with the dirt track from tousriver we went a little more slowly just in case) and meant we could relax after. We chatted to a few people who had done a day trip to aquila and had a 2.5 hour trip back to cape town. For the price, location etc. definitely worth staying a couple of nights. If you would like a few more nights of tranquility a great location and you can explore more too.

There were a few ants but nothing that disturbed our stay and for the price and the great staff and considering the location not a surprise or anything that made us feel bad about the trip!

Happy, who works at the reception, was incredibly welcoming and friendly, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. We had the joy of braaing our food for dinner, which added a personalized touch to the evening. Breakfast the next morning was a delightful buffet with plenty of options to satisfy everyone. One of the standout features was the chlorine-free swimming pool—crystal clear and perfect for a refreshing dip. The property also features ostriches, which added a unique and charming element to the stay. The lodge is impeccably clean and spacious, offering plenty of room to relax and unwind. The quiet atmosphere is complemented by a stunning view of the stars at night—a true escape into nature’s beauty.

The relaxed atmosphere, in a lovely setting with great views. Happy was very helpful & was always available when we had a question. We didn't have any meals, but the facilities in the communal kitchen were satisfactory & plenty of braai (BBQ) facilities. We used the pool which was a good size & clean. The 'honesty' box arrangement in the bar was a breath of fresh air - help yourself to drinks and just let them know what you had when you checked out. Great location for a stopover if you are going to Aquilla Game Reserve. We would recommend staying in this real SA accommodation.

The animals around the game reserve, the guide Brian, the breakfast and the help yourself bar and the room. The staff also helped us to repair. our broken down vechile by calling in a local mechanic and towing the car for us instantly.

The Owner was rude to my partner and did'nt apologize personally, she tried to make up for it by offering free sparkling wine. The waitress and cook Happiness was busy singing loudly and disturbing the peace of the place and she was also busy sitting on her phone right in the centre of the lounge area for guests watching insta or tik tok videos with her legs up like she was the boss and she was rude too at times depending on her mood. Also didnt like the dead stuffed animals on display all around especially when your an animal lover.

Njalo Safari lodge is a diamond in the rust!! It is absolutely superb & I would recommend this Safari lodge to anyone driving through the Karoo or to anyone who wants to stay close to Aquilla! The rooms are nicely equipped with air con, patio, coffee maker , nice bedding & large shower! You can just enjoy yourself here in peace with birds chirping away, lovely pool to cool down, sundowners with honor bar ( unheard of!) delicious food & friendly & hospitable staff! Can’t say enough about this lodge, they even allow your pup 🐶 to come too!

We absolutely loved this hidden gem. We have always driven past Touwsriver on long road trips and never popped in, howeverwhen coming accross Njalo-Njalo by accident on booking.com we decided to give it a try and we loved it. The staff are friend, the accommodation was spotless and you can braai there also but you will need to make prior arrangement for this option. Should you have children they have plenty of place for the little ones to blow off steam. I definately will be going back.

Got to the gate a little earlier than normal check in, and we stood outside for 15 mins and called but nobody answered the gate. Eventually someone opened. This will not deter me from going again we had a great time.

Right from the arrival at the lodge we were greeted by the smiling face of Happiness and offered a glass of local sherry. The lodge was small and so peaceful and relaxing.Staff were really friendly and couldn't do enough to help. Comfortable, clean room. Nice patio area to sit and enjoy the environment. Good food, very reasonably priced and drink selection available via the honesty bar.

It was a comfortable stay and we felt that the staff was always approachable and extremely helpful. The swimming pool was a delight in the hot weather. The room was well serviced and clean right through our stay. Being Christmas time,they even decorated the eating hall for that extra special personal Christmas feeling,and it felt like home. Loved the handmade cards on the tables.

The water pressure in the shower was very poor, but could be corrected with a pressure valve or different shower head. It wasn't the end of the world because all the other positives was so much greater than this minor problem. The menu could be more traditional South African dishes,that being said Happiness our hostess had to be everywhere from front desk to cook. Training in the kitchen is a possibility or just a trained chef.
