We had a delicious breakfast all home made and grown produce on a charming patio overlooking the beautiful gardens and pond and olive groves. The hosts were very attentive to our needs and nothing was too much trouble. Room was very comfortable and clean and well stocked with essential items. Stunning views from our balcony. We were offered a glass of local wines when we arrived and sat drinking it while taking in the views a few nuts from the area would have complimented the drink. Walking distance to historic places as well as local unusual shops and galleries.

There was nothing not to like

Truly beautiful property where amazing attention to detail has resulted in a very special place to stay. The room and bathroom were beautifully appointed with stunning views over the olives to the mountains. The gardens are delightful with a welcome plunge pool. Pam and Anthony are most friendly and helpful - it was lovely to meet you both. Breakfast was beautifully set and plenty of lovely choices. Dinner reservation already made for restaurant in the evening which was perfect!

Didn’t stay long enough!

We were made so welcome by Anthony and Pam and they gave us very personal attention through our stay. The accommodation was tastefully appointed and there was a lot of attention to detail in the fixtures and fittings. It was a beautifully restful and restorative space to be in for the weekend. The breakfasts were amazing and the staff were attentive and professional, with a ready smile and a helpful style. The views from our room were spectacular and restful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

There was nothing we didn’t like

What a beautiful guest house,the room was lovely with stunning views & very clean. We had a delicious breakfast in the morning,then went for a walk in the surrounding area which was great. Montagu is very safe & we walked into town & back each night to the restaurants which were really good. We would definitely recommend this as a stopping point on the famous R62 garden route or as just a lovely destination.

I last stayed at Montagu Vines in 2005. This time, I brought my most favourite person. M.V., is still as beautiful as it was then. Pam and Anthony were so very welcoming, bringing us a chilled carafe of Chenin Blanc at 5pm - a delightful gesture. Our room was exquisite and pristine; beautiful bedding with great pillows. A cosy sofa, a spacious wardrobe which housed a safe, though we didn't need it, and enough space for our luggage. The bathroom was equally spacious and very well equipped. Fluffy, white towels, too! Wherever you sit in the garden is a visual feast. There is a mountain range, olive groves, a lake and more flowers and shrubs that you can count. It's heavenly. Breakfast was perfect, as was Pam's restaurant recommendation, which was within walking distance. My only regret was that we couldn't stay longer.

There isn't anything to dislike at all.

Ant & Pam are the perfect hosts. They have a beautiful property where you can really relax and unwind. The breakfast was perfect. They are both, as well as their entire team and Max, super nice and very attentive. They did everything to make us feel comfortable. We received lots of helpful information and tips for the rest of our trip. It was a shame we could only stay one night.

We had a wonderful 1 night stay at Montagu Vines. The property is in a great location walking distance from the restaurants and main street of Montagu. The welcome and hosting from Pam and Anthony couldn't have been warmer, and we really appreciated their advice on attractions nearby and on our onward journey. The room itself was very comfortable and cosy and we enjoyed getting back to relax in front of the fire after a lovely meal at The Grill at Mimosa, thoughtfully reserved for us by our hosts. Just sorry it was such a short stay and hope we can return one day.

Nothing at all to fault.

Perfection! What more can I say? Everything about Montgu Vines Guesthouse was superlative. Montagu Vines offers tranquil grounds; spotlessly clean, spacious rooms; a scrumptious breakfast served with elegance and panache; and the most gracious and interesting hosts you could ever hope to encounter. Our hosts even made dinner reservations for us ahead of our arrival for the best spot in town. (Thank you, Pam, for your thoughtfulness!) Would absolutely book again--and stay longer!

The only thing I didn't like was that we hadn't booked a longer stay.

Wow did we enjoy this location. The view over the estate from our room was amazing. The rooms are very spacious will everything you need. The breakfast was superb! To top it, the owners took the liberty of booking a table at a local restaurant for us due to the fact that the town was relatively fully booked (and yes we didn't even think of this before arriving in the town), this was such a lovely touch Ant & Pam, so thoughtful of you! We would definitely recommend this guesthouse to others.

Loved everything!

An outstanding stay, on walking distance from the beautiful village. Hosts and staff were so nice and friendly, and gave great tips or booked the nearby restaurants for us! Breakfast was really nice with generous choices. The spacious and comfortable garden rooms, with private terrace had good quality beds and a spacious bathroom, which made our stay so comfortable.
