Our room was comfortable and we loved the olde worlde Victorian theme. We hope to visit you again sometime in the future.

The location isn't perfect as the magistrales court is just across the road, which unfortunately draws some unsavory characters to the area. However, this is all forgotten from the moment one enters the property.

We stayed here for one night in mid-August 2024 and although our visit was short, it was sweet. We really enjoyed staying at Montagu Manor. The host was very friendly and warm, and was able to answer our questions on where to eat/what to see in the area/safety. The location of the place is excellent - right in the town and with secure, safe parking. Our room was simply lovely. It was so charming and everything in it just fitted. So lovely. The shower was great. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast the following morning was a treat. Lovely food and the room - gorgeous. It was the little details - the cutlery, the background music, the table cloth: we loved it all. Definitely would stay again if we are ever in the area.

Not only were our hosts exceptionally friendly, but their attention to detail was really impressive. Our room, the breakfast room, and the property were all impeccably decorated with a lovely Victorian/Edwardian theme, our bed was really comfortable, the shower in the bathroom was beautiful, and the breakfast was both extremely generous and delicious! We especially loved the authentic antique record player that was playing French jazz when we arrived for breakfast, and our hosts’ kind recommendations for places to visit. The recommendation for Barrydale was great!

Everything. The history of an old Building. The room was comfortable and had Everything needed for an overnight stay. My favorite place was sitting on the stoep and listening to the birds while having a cup of coffee. Breakfast in the dining room while listening to old French music was soothing. Really enjoyed my stay at the Montagu Manor. It was very central and a road or 2 away from restuarants and Town. So..Thank you.

I can't say there was anything I did not like.

A beautiful old house, sympathetically furnished and very elegant. Elaine and her partner are excellent hosts, so welcoming and helpful. The room was well equipped and comfortable. The breakfasts are delicious.

The bedroom is very comfortable with two armchairs, a wardrobe and coffee table, which made it quite compact and there was no space for our cases. Not a big problem though.

Breakfast was fabulous. Our very welcoming hosts made a special effort to make our stay most enjoyable. The room was comfortable, tea, coffee and milk was provided. As we arrived on Valentine's Day, our hosts gifted us a bottle of wine, chocolate, fruit and sweets.

Nothing that we didn't like.

Superb breakfast freshly prepared by host. Very helpful host who let me use his phone to make bookings. Very beautiful house renovated in the old fashion.

Our only issue was mosquitos. We were eaten by them all night and there was no mosquito net. I highly recommend the owner to install a mosquito net above the bed because it ruins the next day when one cannot sleep.

It's a beautiful room and the hosts where very attentive. Great attention was given to the room and all the small details made for a great stay. Breakfast was fantastic. Love the wrap around porch, and there is cozy seats available outside of the room where you can read a book, or just relax and drink a glass of wine.

Beautiful room with every comfort you could wish for. I really appreciated the options on coffee, milk in the fridge, as well as water for the night. The owner couple were absolutely lovely, and very accommodating. Breakfast was a feast and completely unexpected.

Elaine and Wikkie were fantastic.(and Lily the Doggie) I was given a lovely surprise birthday cake on my day. Breakfast was exceptional, enough to last until Dinner time! Good secure place for the car which was inside the property. Highly recommended.
