Bedroom and bed and bedding – nice layout, very comfortable and good quality, we especially liked “Echo” (version of “Siri”), playing with the various lighting and music. The private little patio, with views out onto the pool and valley, enjoying your early morning tea, is a nice touch. The grounds are beautifully maintained and with walkways for walks around the property. Bathroom – clean, hot water with strong water pressure, a nice touch is the automated light for when you go to the bathroom at night. Breakfast - We enjoyed the tasty breakfasts in the indoor, outdoor setting, with their three pets visiting making it nicely homely. For dinners, the onsite restaurant a definite plus and the food was delicious. Overall, onsite photos are a true reflection of the property and we highly recommend. The customer service and the friendliness of the staff stood out for us; everyone was wonderful – the day manager gave us great tips on what we could do in the surrounding area. We had a wonderful visit, thank you.

It would be nice if the blinds could be opened/closed separately - you can either open both your window and door blinds or you have them closed.

The staff and customer service are amazing. I haven't experienced good customer service like this in years, all staff went above and beyond and came across as professional friendly polite and extremely helpful! Its great that there are so many rooms available that feature a hot tub at varying price ranges. We were thinking about bringing our furbaby with but opted not to in the end. But after seeing the facilities I would definitely recommend this as a good spot for anyone traveling with small pets. Rooms have a private courtyard that can be closed and the surroundings are very peaceful. The Pets on property are very friendly and well-behaved. Thank you for our stay :)

The rooms are equipped with very modern fixtures such as voice automated speakers which is really cool but my grandparents who were traveling with us struggled a bit with the technology.

My stay at theLab Robertson was amazing. All the staff were friendly, professional and efficient. I had a wonderful neck and back massage in a wooden cabin across the lake; what a way to be close to nature. The breakfast was delicious. I would recommend theLab as a great breakaway that is located in a beautiful, relaxing setting. It is also a dog friendly environment, so pet lovers can bring their fur babies. TheLab is also in close proximity to various wine farms. I did a pairing at Van Loveren Family Wine Farm situated in a beautiful garden that is worth a visit. Thank you for my experience at theLab.

I don't have a negative viewpoint.

Had a very enjoyable stay. The setting is stunning with beautiful views and the old Dutch cape style building was very picturesque. Our room was very well appointed, large and very bright and airy. A good A/C system was very welcome at night time. There is a nice pool where you can cool down and swim which overlooks a lake and plenty of birdlife can be seen. Plenty of choices where to sit and either eat or have a drink. All the staff were lovely, very friendly, helpful and attentive so we felt very well looked after. Breakfasts were great and we enjoyed our evening meals as well. Definitely recommend.

The lighting in the bedroom was a bit odd and we couldn't work out how to turn on the bedside lights!

Stayed at The Lab, in a one room studio type apartment, in April 2025 for three days to attend a wedding. A great spot to stay. The rooms were comfortable and quiet, very private. Had a small private jacuzzi which was lovely. The food was delicious; service was great and the scenery and views magnificent. The area around the bar and restaurant was a great spot to sit and enjoy breakfast and a drink. The clear shower in the main room took a bit of getting used to. The breakfast was delicious with lots of choices. Would stay here again.

I love the privacy of the room and the food was good. The staff is very friendly En helpful the atmosphere is romantic and peaceful

The outside light dot not work so it was too dark outside at night. The bathroom door couldn't close from the outside. The gate outside couldn't be closed from inside. The windows in shower does not have a blind so the sun wakes you up very very early in the morning. The fridge makes loud noises at night that woke me every hour. The eco music system does not hear us half of the time and does not respond most of the time. There was not drinking glasses in the room for us to drink out of only 1 very small glass. Other than those Littles things the stay was amazing and worth it as always.

The staff are brilliant and an absolute asset to this guesthouse. From drinks on the deck, two superb dinners and breakfasts. The staff are friendly and helpful and always around. We loved the furbabies, and the setting in beautiful.

Echo was totally unnecessary. Ours didn't work in the room, along with the coffee machine. (We have a coffee machine at home, so we are used to using one) we even read the instructions. We (a group of friends) all had to ask for blankets, as the rooms are very cold. Some fitted the beds, some were way too small. Rather than technology, you could spend money enhancing the rooms.

Pool area, dam and deck. All lovely and are a major attraction. Staff friendly; some additional training is required.. The food was nice.

Short bed. (1,90) By removing the bath tub, you would easily have room for a more adequate bed. Fortunately we are not tall . All the tech gadgets…. They only break down and require constant maintenance. I thought some of them were superfluous and had a negative impact, e.g. all blinds would close, but I actually only wanted to close one of them. The minuscule TV might as well be removed,

My fault when I booked I did not realise I had booked well away from hotel, pool ,restaurant ,we did not like not being part of main area .also the lighting was terrible ,if you went to the toilet during the night the light come on and stayed on for 10 min , also the shower room same thing , you just walked past it to come on which you had to do to get to toilet ,there was no switch to put it off ; we are older people who do get up a couple times a night was very irritating, we don’t need the whole place illuminated during the night .

We had the most wonderful experience in a mountain view facing room at LAB Robertson. The room was luxurious and we loved the use of our private hot tub to watch the stars. The restaurant and pool area were both relaxing and indulgent with excellent drinks, food and service. Watching the variety of bird life on the lake from the veranda during breakfast was another highlight. We both left with a great sense of well being. Thank you to the staff!
