Arrived to very good news that we could move to the Honeymoon suite! We relaxed and absorbed the environment, the owners Trevor and Mandy showed us around the landmark hotel which they have recently renovated. Every room was a winner - we were impressed by their roominess and spanking new layout, Dinner was tender Karoo lamb chops and an fine Merlot. In the morning after an icy dip in the pool, we were treated to a sumptuous breakfast, freshly baked scones with butter, cheese, cream and jam followed by eggs and bacon on Ciabatta. My wife had the eggs benedict. There is a fantastic vibe at breakfast. Staff who know there jobs and management close at hand and overseeing all things smoothly.
We wished we could have stayed longer, were only overnighting and next time will stay for the weekend and take the taxi cab to one of the many surrounding wine farms for a tasting.

Location is beautiful, in the heart of Robertson, close to all the wine farms and the wine train. Staff and hotel owners are very welcoming and top quality service. Rooms are exquisitely furnished and very comfortable. Food is delicious. Highly recommend this hotel for your next stay in the region.
Nothing - everything was fantastic.

Beautiful rooms, excellent food, and the London cab ride to the wine farm was so special. Service and attention to detail was excellent!

We enjoyed our breakfast. What a great variety of fresh and tasty foods. The service was outstanding and the staff and owners were so friendly and caring, we felt part of their family. The atmosphere and setting in the courtyard for breakfast and dinners were exceptional, providing the right ambiance to enjoy a sundowner (cocktails), dinner and so peaceful to enjoy an early morning cuppa coffee/tea and a hearty breakfast. I give the setting, breakfast/dinner/staff and management at 5/5 rating and a chef’s kiss.
No one thing about my experience at The Grand Hotel was less than 5/5. A true gem of a hotel.

This place is an absolute gem – old school charm meets modern amenities in a well-designed fashion. Our room was huge, and very tastefully furnished – heritage wardrobe & dressing table plus freshly renovated & updated shower, tub & ceiling fan. The complimentary glass of local wine was an amazing greeting gesture, and the pool is a treat on hot Robertson days. The entire place is very serene, quiet and peaceful – just the right setting for an escape from e.g. busy city life. A la carte breakfast was a nice touch, the restaurant also has a great dinner menu. The owners & staff are extremely friendly and dedicated to their craft, highly appreciated!
Nothing!

I stayed at The Grand hotel in my trip to experience the Saturday wine steam train (A definite must do) . I was taken back my the amazing hospitality. When I arrived I was given a complimentary ride to the train station in a London taxi! (How grand is that?) I spent most of the time relaxing and recuperating at the hotel afterward. It had more of a personal touch with the staff and owners ensuring that every minute details were seen to. The rooms were luxurious with comfortable linen, absorbant flooring and an all white bath tub and shower. It was pristinely clean. It definitley was a 5-star experience and was better than most hotels I visited local and abroad. The food was scrumptious and satisfying. If you would rather grab a book and lie by the poolside, definitely do! At the end , the hotels beloved huskys came to say goodbye! I would definitely visit again if I am the area.
Nothing. Everything was grand.

Our room was beautifully appointed and spotlessly clean (much like the rest of the hotel). The bedding and toiletries provided were of a high standard, and there was a general feeling of luxury. Fridge provided, along with kettle/tea and coffee. We very much appreciated the early check-in and the complimentary glass of wine. Wifi was strong and there was secure parking onsite. Added bonus of two beautiful in-house dogs! The owners were helpful and personable, and Amanda was kind enough to drive us to and from the train station in the hotel's own black cab. All the staff we encountered were friendly and engaging. The pool area was immaculate and set amongst very pretty plants. Comfy day beds, very clean pool, towels provided etc. We had dinner and breakfast at the restaurant, and both were good. Prices for food and drinks very reasonable. Would not hesitate to return if we're in the area again.
There was no air con in the hotel, but the ceiling fan in our room was very effective, so no complaints here.

The Grand Hotel was such a pleasure to stay at. We even feel like we stayed for such a short time. I wished we could extend our stay. However, we could not because we were traveling somewhere. The hotel is amazing, she and her husband offer such great service. Their hospitality is beyond amazing. She makes sure that you are well taken care of from the time you arrive to the time you check out. The staff is also great. They are friendly and always around to assist. On arrival we were offered welcome drinks. Alfred helped us with our luggage. Margret also showed us to our room and was always around to take our order. We were also offered a ride to and from the NCCR station for our train ride. Our room was very clean and beautiful. It has modern and vintage look which is beautiful. We also had our cute balcony. Everything worked well in our room, we did not experience any faults. We enjoyed the poolside beds. The restaurants areas are also beautiful and the food is delicious. The Grand Hotel service is amazing. I can recommend it to anyone who wants a perfect stay in Robertson. We are definitely coming back.
Absolutely nothing.

Hands down the best hotel we stayed in on our SA holiday. The hotel is a beautifully done up period property. From the moment Mandy welcomed us with a glass of wine, until checkout, the experience was top notch. The food is excellent, the spa is wonderful, the rooms are well appointed with crisp white bed linen, and nothing is too much for Mandy and her well trained team. Even our car got a complimentary wash! Our only regret is not staying longer, we would have loved to go on a wine tour in their British black cab.

Staff very friendly. Breakfast plentiful and very good coffee selection. Cuisine excellent, we only let us indulge in the hotel gatronomic. Surprising taste experience through imaginative composition of the ingredients with very good quality. There is also a wine list with award-winning wines. The hotel is a successful blend of tradition and contemporary comfort. Thanks to the whole team for 3 day in the little "Grand" Paradies.
