This Hosteller is away from the crowds and nestled into the small village of Kareri. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, the views are amazing and the food is delicious. The room's are spacious and the WiFi was consistent during my visit. This is also a great spot for hiking to Kareri Lake which is a beautiful trek.

It is quite an isolated location so it can be quite expensive getting around as taxis seem to be the only option. The bathroom could do with a renovation and some background music in the upstairs common areas would add to the vibe. Take earplugs too, because sometimes the dogs will get into a barking contest throughout the night right outside the rooms. The Hosteller also make you pre-pay on an external payment platform outside of booking.com which didn't work for me initially. It took me a lot of time troubleshooting just to pay for my stay and there were extra fees

Comfortable accommodation in a very rural and beautiful farming/shepherd village. Rooms clean and comfortable most/all with sunny balconies. Comfortable common areas with beautiful views of the snowy mountains and daily village life. Restaurant serving unexpectedly fantastic Indian food and hot drinks all day. Perfect area for hiking, walking, soaking in nature and quiet, learning about village mountain life and relaxing. Very little else to do but pure bliss if this is what you want. Short walk to a beautiful river with deep pools to swim in. Lovely short or long walks in every direction. Staff who can give advise on activities/hikes or call others to help you if needed.

Outside of summer make sure you have lots of layers or a big jacket for evening and early morning. Common area / restaurant is same temperature as outside which was pretty cold at night in November.

The location was awesome.. one of the best decisions I took for a solo travel. A serene atmosphere with neat and clean surroundings where one can find ultimate peace in the midst of nature. Add to that the facilities of The Hosteller Kareri was top notch and Ashok ji maintained everything beautifully. The food was awesome and delicious. All in all a wholesome experience.. woukd definitely recommend to visit and personally would love to visit again.

This is a magical property at a magical offbeat place. The manager, Aryan, was so helpful and really fun to be around. Also the other staff members were very nice and always positive. I loved the food here and I think this is a great place for workation. The Wifi worked well most of the time.

There was no place in the dorm to hang your jacket (like a hanger on the door) which I would have appreciated.

I stayed at Hosteller for a little over a week, extending my stay again and again like many guests. It's a peaceful place with a great view on the mountain range and starry nights. The food is very tasty, everybody is so helpful and the rooms are clean! So many lovely encounters too💕 I definitely recommend it!

I had an exceptional experience staying at the Hosteller, Kareri. The location was perfect and the dorm was spacious, clean, and well-appointed with all the amenities I needed for a comfortable stay. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, always ready to assist with any requests

This was my second time staying at hosteller Kareri. Architecture, location, views and services are top notch. The property is beautiful! The dorm beds were super comfortable, too, and the common areas are really nice. Loved everything I ate, too. The banana Nutella pancakes are amazing! Staff, too, is very cooperative.

Absolutely no complaints. Any concerns we had were taken care of by the staff on priority.

Having been to kareri I feel like I have lived more in these few days than I had in the last year: going to swim in the river everyday, doing the kareri lake trek, meditating near the waterfall, visiting meadows for yoga with folks from the hostel and gazing at starlit nights with moonrises. Really a varestile crowd, met people from all walks of life. The host and the staff is very kind, friendly and helpful.

We really enjoyed our stay in the Hosteller Kareri ! The way from Dharamshala to the hostel is breathtaking! It is around 40 min away from Dharamshala and as the location is amazing ! It is really worth it staying here. Very calm with an amazing view over the mountains 🏔️ & amazing surroundings! If you want to relax and enjoy the views this is the perfect place, away from the busy Dharamshala. The rooms are clean with lots of windows 🪟 to the mountains, lots of light and very nice environment. The food is great as so the rooftop ! You just want to stay there forever and never leave ! Perfect place to work remotely if it is the case, or just enjoy the views. Wi-Fi is very good. We don’t give it a 10 because unfortunately it still does not accept card. But believe you can pay online upon reservation via a link.

Overall, it was a great experience. The staff were very helpful and accommodating, and I found the food in the on-site cafe to be quite good. Additionally, the view from the property was simply breathtaking and made for a relaxing atmosphere. The WiFi was surprisingly fast and reliable, which was a nice bonus. The common areas and bathrooms were well-maintained and tidy throughout my stay. The rooms and common areas were spacious.

Nothing about the property as such. It's a little expensive to reach, especially for solo travelers.
