We had an amazing stay at this beautiful château. The room was exceptionally comfortable, with one of the best beds we’ve ever slept in top-notch mattress, pillows, and duvet. Despite being a very old château, it’s in excellent condition, full of charm yet perfectly maintained. Breakfast was simple but absolutely delicious, with a lovely selection of regional cheeses, homemade jams, fresh cherries from the garden, and quality tea and coffee. We also appreciated having access to the communal kitchen, where we cooked some sausages for dinner one evening. We thoroughly enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere, relaxing by the pool, and walking through the lush, beautifully kept gardens. The château seems to attract like-minded guests, and we even had some pleasant small talk with fellow travelers. Just a 10-minute walk away, there’s a beautiful park with walking paths, gardens, and an abandoned château perfect for a little exploration. Philippe, the host, was very friendly and accessible. He shared helpful tips about the area and recommended places to eat nearby. If you’re an animal lover, you’re in for a treat the property is also home to three gorgeous cats and a lovely, friendly dog who made us feel even more welcome. We truly enjoyed every moment of our stay at the château and can’t wait to return for a longer visit next time!

A very pleasant overnight stay in this beautiful historic house. The hotel is set in a lovely garden and the comfortable rooms are decorated to a high standard. A very warm welcome from the host and an enjoyable continental breakfast.

Visitors need to be aware this is a period house with steep stairs to some of the bedrooms. This wasn't a problem for us but any guests with mobility issues would be advised to check with the host first. Also bear in mind this is a B&B rather than full hotel, so doesn't offer dining facilities in the evening. Again, not a problem for us, but just something to be aware of when planning your trip.

Great French breakfast, including brioche, croissants, baguettes and cheese. No bacon, eggs, or ham, but that was fine for us. Good coffee too. Clean swimming pool with nice vegetation around it and deckchairs in the sun or in the shade of the trees. Multiple possibilities for practicing tennis, badminton and table tennis with rackets and balls provided for free by the owners. All of this in the setting of a beautiful, well maintained garden with huge old trees and even a large pond out front. Tables and chairs all around the castle. Inside, work was done, mostly on the bathrooms which are nice, clean and modern, but the old character of the castle was also well preserved with wooden floors and some old dressers. The beds were modern and comfy. The kids liked the TV with access to Youtube when it was too hot to play outside.

Season related: - Difficult to find an open restaurant around the town in August (they are all on leave it seems) and on our first evening we spent over an hour to spot one that wasn't a pizza delivery only and open. Not the hotels fault, of course. - Mosquitos... omg the mosquitos. And some horseflies around the pool. Some small drawbacks you should expect when choosing an original castle for your vacation: - 3G was the maximum we got in most spots in and around the hotel and WiFi was not available everywhere. - Old wooden floors and doors are nice to look at, but you are at the mercy of your fellow travelers regarding the noise they will cause at night. - No A/C -> so you sleep with open windows which is fine because it's a really quiet place, but then again... mosquitos.

Our stay was short but lovely, a very very beautiful chateau, the room was spotlessly clean, the grounds were beautiful and our 2 cocker spaniels loved enjoying running around! Phillipe the host was very accommodating and friendly, the breakfast was 10/10 probably the best croissant we’ve ever had it was huge and the confitures delicious ! A highly recommended place to stay and experience needed more time there to enjoy it and the pristine swimming pool! Thank you for a lovely stay!

Lovely chateau with pool and air conditioning. We stayed in the tower suite which was lovely. Many small stairs to climb to the top so large luggage would be a problem. The bathroom is on the 3rd floor and the bedroom on the 4th floor. The grounds are beautiful for those looking for a country experience. Having stayed in Nante which was too contemporary for our taste on our return we wanted something more French antiquity. The airport is 10 minutes by car and an excellent restaurant is 2 min by car. They have a tiny room with small couch and very short ceiling to use for all the rooms. Also a dining room with a fridge and stove for those wanting to use. The breakfast was in a lovely room with many choices (all cold) such as cereal, fruit, yoghurt, cheese, croissant and crepe. My only critic is I would have like to see a lounge area for guests to relax inside that was larger. The owner has a wonderful wine cellar that one can buy from to enjoy during your stay. Definitely recommend.

The gardens, dogs, cats and swan. The pool was lovely for hot days.

It’s stunningly beautiful in a lovely setting with a pool at just the right temperature. We appreciated the delicious liquer in our room for guests. Breakfast was good except for the nuts. We had wine served in an ice bucket by the pool before a short walk to dinner.

The access to our room was through our friends room or down some tiny rickety stairs. We think this area is due for refurbishment. The nuts at breakfast were rancid.
