I'd like to first thank the staff. Due to the recent typhoon causing transport issues, they were able to kindly arrange extended stay for us. And they also patiently helped us sort through our call to the next hotel to change check-in dates. Public/private bathrooms, breakfast and bedding I found all to be good. Our room had a good view from the window. The location is good if you are looking for somewhere to relax, away from the busier cities. We went to a couple of small tea houses and cafe/restaurants around the area. Uji has a local matcha factory, so I recommend at least trying one of the tea shops if you are interested. In Uji, it's quiet but the locals in restaurants seem quite happy for friendly chats.

We had already anticipated that the inn would be a bit far from Uji station. This may be a bit difficult to travel to while handling large luggages (especially during summertime). We decided to hire a taxi during check-in and check-out, which worked out well.

Very nice place. Lovely staff and next to a river and many sights and shopping all within walking distance. We got the onsen room and it was fabulous. Robes for the onsen were great and the breakfasts was Japanese and very good. Beds were very comfortable. They let us go in an hour early which was nice. A cute gift shop with good prices in the lobby. We had to leave at 5:00 am for our flight but we Uber’s it and someone was in the lobby to see us off that early. Would definitely recommend. Also has coffee. Water and green tea in the room very convenient

Incredible location and views. Short walk from many shrines in Uji and a ~30 minute train to Kyoto station. Rooms are air conditioned and have balconies facing the river Uji for a stunning morning view. Staff are super friendly and kind.

The bathroom facilities (bathroom, shower and toilet) were a little run down. The door into the bath room had some wear and tear/markings and looked a little dirty.

We stayed in two rooms as a family of 5: one Yamabuki and one Botan. Both are renovated with taste, very design and beds were perfectly confortable. The personal are very kind. It is perfectly located near the river and historic center ! Overall we loved our stay.

The overall hotel needs renovation but they are working on it.

A beautiful location. Rriver view is outstanding! During cherry blossoms, it should be absolutely magical. The room is a great combination of a traditional ryokan and a modern hotel, has everything you need for comfortable stay. The staff is friendly and helpful. We also were allowed to leave our luggage before check-in. We visited public baths and liked it.

Very carrying staff. In the city idealy located. Onsen was nice with river views. The breakfeast with supra fresh eggs and river view.

Not enough plugs ? But they give multiplugs.

Spacious with a private onsen experience. The room was traditional and felt like a step into the past. That was great!

We had a great stay at this ryokan. It’s super clean and confortable. It’s located in a good position. We recommend it! Traditional onsen was the cherry on top!
