We have been in Germany for almost three weeks and have been staying mostly one night at each hotel on a long cycling trip. This hotel has taken the number one slot. Less expensive than our last hotel and it included the best breakfast so far. We also had dinner and the quality and presentation of the food was outstanding as was the wine. First class with friendly and helpful service. Comfortable bed, air conditioning, good shower. It’s a beautifully designed hotel with many added touches that make it special. We took a look at the rooftop pool but the weather had turned cold so we didn’t venture in. Right in the centre of town with a shed for bikes. Top spot.

We love Hotel-Gasthof Höttl in Deggendorf. In my opinion, this is by fare the best Hotel in Deggendorf and surrounding area. Nice rooms, great breakfast, delicious lunch or dinner, and a beautiful Sky pool with Spa. You are right in town and shops and restaurants are in walking distance. The perfect starting place for a day trip to the Bavarian Forest, or visiting the glass manufactories along the glass street (Glasstrasse)

Because the Hotel is laid out over serveral buildings, you can get lost during your first visit. This is not a real complain, just be aware of the situation when bringing your luggage to the room. :-) Parking space is limited, and you maybe have to park in the underground puplic parking garage in front of the hotel.

Gasthof Höttl is a great stay for cyclists - it has a large secure bike shed in the rear beer garden - and they have a rooftop pool with spa jets to soothe aching muscles. The hotel is excellently located - right on the cobbled altstadt market square. The staff were very welcoming, helpful and wore traditional dress. The bed was comfy, the room very modern, and there was plenty of hot water. Breakfast was excellent with wide choices and eggs made to order - we had omlettes. The hotel also has an excellent restaurant, but book early - it's very popular.

A truly beautiful hotel in the heart of Deggendorf, modern and elegant merged perfectly with traditional style. We found every member of staff to be friendly and helpful during our stay. Our room was large, more like a junior suite with a view overlooking the town, but it was still quiet. The bed was very comfortable and we had everything we could possibly need. The hotel has a Spa Complex with sauna, steam room and lots of relaxation areas. On the rooftop there is a small heated swimming pool with massage jets. Dressing gowns are available at a small extra cost. There was a complementary glass of Sekt on the evening of arrival and we ate dinner there which was also very good. The selection at breakfast was vast and the quality superb, freshly squeezed orange juice, eggs cooked to order, Sekt, smoked salmon, gourmet meats and cheeses, everything you could possibly want. There was also a good choice of vegan alternatives. Overall, an exceptionally well run hotel and very good value for money. We will certainly return.

Nothing, our only regret is that we didn't stay longer...

Amazing breakfast, friendly staff, nice sauna and sky pool, comfortable bed, room was small but cozy and there is everything you need

No big towels available besides the one you get in your room at the beginning of your stay (there was no possibility to change it), the spa area was a bit dirty in the evening, there was no cleaning during the day, also, in the evening there weren’t any clean cups in the spa area available anymore, the soap in the shower was gone and in the relaxing area it was pretty messy (only used blankets for the beds, used glasses and coffee cups all around, wet floor)

Very nice location right in the city center. Parking is possible on the main square, both above ground and in the parking garage underneath. Good restaurant, clean and nice facilities.

While the breakfast selection was great, the breakfast experience was a bit chaotic. It was a busy weekend, and no tables were available in the main breakfast hall. I was seated in the pub area, very far away from the buffet table. Also, a lot of people were queuing at the food stalls.

We loved the little village and being on the main street. The hotel staff was friendly and accommodating. We loved spending some time in the rooftop pool. It was a highlight of the stay. The room was a nice size and very comfortable with a clean AC that worked! We were thrilled to have that benefit since it was very warm for this time of the year.

The pool is too small, without the possibility of lounge chairs near it. There are only 5 outdoor lounge chairs one level above the pool. The rest belongs to the indoor spa area.

A beautiful hotel with real charm. I had a quiet room at the back, enjoyed a refreshing swim in the open-air, heated pool and a delicious breakfast. The hotel is on Deggendorf's main square, which is one of the most delightful in Germany. Public car parking is below the square, at €2.00 at weekends.

This was an outstanding hotel in a great location in the old town. The facilities were good, the room comfortable, the staff friendly and helpful and the food very good. Given the superb quality, this hotel was good value for money. We didn't use the pool or fitness centre so are unable to comment.
