The staff and picturesque view. It was truly relaxing and rejuvenating. Food, chai, and sadya everything was good. the owner Arya and manager Sameer went out of the way to help me with the rooms. River experience is therapeutic. it is a perfect place to write and paint.

We struggled with our return back to Pune. We were sent to the station in an Auto and we reached there to realize there are no cabs available from Karjat station. We had to come back to the main road to book a local taxi. The staff should have guided better considering it was only me and my daughter. The management should inform us in advance about cabs etc so we would choose a safer option of return from that place. One of the riverside cottages had too many lizards and it was difficult to stay.(applicable for guests who are fearful of lizards) We got our room changed in the night.

Having booked this place via booking.com post searching on Google reviews (since booking.com had no details nor facility information) for an 6th anniversary surprise for the wife. The place is close to Mumbai/Thane and very close to the main highway. The road marker is bit small and can be missed if not attentive. Google map shows an route few hundred meters ahead(incorrect route). Correct route from the main road is an Kaccha rasta (dirt road.. 4 wheeler vehicle can easily go though) to property. Property from the entrance can't be known as it's a 2 min walk from the gate to the reception/other areas but you can see to your right wonderful vegatable gardens while you walk through. Parking is available inside the gate as well as outside too (a few feet in front). Entire property is designed considering the gradient of the land (Entrance at high and rooms towards the river edge). The vegetable/fruit plantations have also been planned keeping the most natural set up for them (they use no chemical fertilizers nor pesticides). Organic end to end. 7 rooms in all - 4 facing the river view and 3 garden view, with a meditation center, restaurant, front desk, Ayurvedic spa rooms. The property has 50 odd Gir cows (which are fed green fodder, and allowed to graze openly too) from which milk for guests is used and ghee (organic) for sale is made. The waste from cows is used for fertilizers via sludge and vermicompost method. The team uses 90% of vegetables grown inhouse (except onions and potatoes which do not grow in red soil there.. although they keep trying). They grow a lot of fruits (Sapota aka chikku, Mango, Mosambi, Jamaican/Singapore cherries, cherries, Java apple, Bananas, mini oranges. They also grow Turmeric at the farm which they grow, organically harvest and sell and they sell Guntur chilli powder which they source from elsewhere. They have Pigeons, fish at the property which one can see.

More with Booking.com not making this Jem a top property on the app/website. Hardly any information about the property on booking.com. Google reviews has more information than booking.com Road to the property from main road needs to be developed and a Big sign board (current ones a hit and miss!). Google map at times shows incorrect route which can confuse people (Call Arya she will guide you directly!)

The property is easily accessible and yet far from the madding crowd of a city. Set in a beautiful farm with quaint cottages and close to a flowing river, imparts a beautiful rustic feeling to the place. Back to nature, yet with all modern amenities. The farm provides all the ingredients used in cooking the meals, so one can imagine how tasty and fresh the vegetables taste in the preparations.

very difficult to point anything negative about the place. The access in the last kilometre is over non tarred roads, but that is the USP of the place

The food by the chef is worth the stay. Chicken Kerala style to the sadhya served only on Saturday. I think eating fresh food made from their own farms is the take away for the property.

Everything was superb. The location, staff, cottages, views, farm, food everything was excellent. The entire concept of keeping things natural and being in nature is too good. The future plan to build certain things is also great. The staff and owner all are very courteous and friendly. Special mention to Miraj Kumar for cooking superb food and serving with love. The riverfront cottages are the best to have and the water is very clean. Anyone will fall in love with nature here.

Parking space and wifi is something that needs to be worked on.

The Riverfront Retreat was absolutely delightful, the location was great and very peaceful, Staff were great too

Road to the location from main street was not well-made and risky for tyres of some vehicles. No seating/walking area along the river that is marketed.

The location of this place is idyllic; it's just you and and the soft rumbling of the river. The staff is attentive and courteous and make you feel very welcome. Most of the grains and vegetables are grown on their own farm, so you get wholesome, delicious meals. The chef is absolutely brilliant and takes really good care of you, taking into consideration your needs and taste. A must visit if you want a break from the crowded city life.

The stay and the hospitality was perfect. There is nothing we would change.

Cleanliness, staffs were very supportive.Food was quite good but there was limited. location is perfect . river side view . You can enter the river and enjoy .

Road condition to reach the destination about 1 km you have to face some difficulty.
