We had a top floor room and the view of the Mekong was incredible. The room was spacious, clean and the bed looked right onto the river. Everything about the RR was top-class. We felt as if we were the only guests. English was spoken really well by the key customer service staff and the answer to any request was always yes. The staff always made eye-contact and greeted us with sabaidee. They helped us organise trips out and the free bikes enabled us to cycle around the rice fields and Champasak town. The sunset cruise is a must!

I liked everything about this hotel. It is in one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited. The view of the Mekong is spectacular, the grounds are beautifully maintained and full of butterflies, and the rooms are very comfortable. Delicious food, too, and two gorgeous swimming pools. The staff members are super helpful and really keen for you to enjoy the Champasak region. The hotel arranged trips for us, and we were also able to take bike rides in the local area using the hotel's bikes. My favourite place in what is a beautiful country. I would definitely like to visit again. Highly recommended.

Nothing. I loved everything about the hotel. It is a super relaxing place to spend a few days or even longer.

Stunning property in a beautiful location overlooking the picturesque Mekong River and its stone sandy islands. Great landscaping within the resort and a modern, relaxed luxury villa room. Top that off with friendly and professional staff and a nice restaurant that met our needs. We'll be back!

Breakfast could have been healthier when you consider the resort being eco friendly. Better cereals, fruits, freshly squeezed juice (juice bar)...let the resort down. Much as the presentation of their dinner menu. Beautiful setting with a pub style menu. Nothing special. Hopefully that'll lift their game and work on delivering delicious meals with better table presentation.

The location is amazing, the staff is very friendly and accommodating, and the food is simple but very tasty

It is not very comfortable to sit in your veranda and if your room is next to the pool and the restaurant there is a lot of noise from the music and children playing. Tha SPA is a disaster! They should not be offering any treatments since the staff is not qualified

This hotel is one of the finest hotels in Lao PDR. Located in beautifully kept gardens on the banks of the Mekong. Two beautiful swimming pools, comfortable rooms (beautiufully designed) and a good internet service. Breakfast is a feast and at lunchtime or in the evening you can eat overlooking the Mekong. So beautiful and relaxing! Finally a word about the staff - friendly and helpful - thank you!

It was as near to perfection as possible!

The place is beautiful. A piece of paradise. The staff is very attentive, friendly and supportive. The rooms are beautiful, especially if you choose the ones with the view on the Mekong. The restaurant offers delicious food for reasonable prices. We loved to stay there and I would really like to come again.

The breakfast is always the same. So if you stay some days it becomes a bit boring.

Lovely big room overlooking the river. Two swimming pools, so lots of choice of where to sit. Pleasant landscaped grounds. Pretty close to Wat Phou (about 30 mins by tuktuk), easy to cycle into Champasak or take a tuktuk. The food in the restaurant for lunch and dinner is good. Lovely, helpful staff

The breakfast was disappointing. Boring bread and not a great fruit selection. The restaurant decor could do with a re-vamp and be more imaginative.

River Resort is really something special with views from all angles of a particularly beautiful part of the Mekong River. The two swimming pools were really welcome during hot March days and again, those views! 😍 The restaurant served really good food including a wide choice for breakfast. The salmon larb for lunch/dinner was great. We also had a couple of spa treatments - reflexology really good and booked a tuk tuk via the resort for Wat Phou which is a must see really., like an untouristy Angkor. Our room was stylish, well lit (not necessarily a given in hotel rooms) and had a super comfy, huge bed. Finally the staff - from gardeners to cooks, serving staff, drivers receptionists, spa staff and cleaners, everyone was friendly, helpful and expert in their roles. Absolutely nothing to fault We will definitely return. Thank you River Resort.

Very friendly staff, speaking quite good English and French, which is great when in need of advice. Great resort ! And great food at decent prices (lunch and diner)

Is quite far from most things, drive to Pakse takes at least 35 min… only Vat Phou is close by.

it was peaceful. the staff were exceptionally helpful. a very nice respite from travelling. sensational views. good food - but overall fantastic staff.

the ridiculous list of damages… what in the hell dues a “smudge” mean? In English this means a small temporary mark that is easily removed. This list made us overly cautious of everything. I photographed all linen before we even sat down. .
