Mayfair Convention is, as you could guess from the name, mainly used for conventions and meeting rooms. Only the top floor has guest rooms. So it is smaller than you might think from the pictures in terms of guest numbers. The great thing is that its sister hotel over the road has everything you would expect in a top class hotel including many great restaurants, bars, etc which you can use as a guest at Mayfair Convention... but your room costs much less than those over the road. If you are travelling to see the old part of town/temples, it is a fair distance away but transport is very affordable. The team at the hotel are incredibly welcoming and arranged transport and tours for us to Cuttack, Konark and beyond. Thanks so much to everyone at the hotel, especially Jagdish on the front desk!

All good for us...

Our stay was really marvellous. The hotel does not have many rooms so the service is extremely personalized. teh amenities are excellent. The pool that is available at Mayfair Lagoon across the street is marvellous, so is the place at Mayfair Lagoon, which is completely integrated with Mayfair Convention. There is water, newspaper, soft drinks and snacks provided at no extra charge. The place is well located, in an area that is not noisy, but still right next to pharmacies, and small shops.

Mayfair convention is a great place to stay at. Definitely pricey but worth every penny. You get full access to the Mayfair Lagoon side , even just a leisurely walk through the lagoon area is truly magical. The location was convenient and close to lots of places. The entire staff / team were helpful and were keen to help as well. I recommend this place to everyone. It is clean , well maintained, professional , friendly and wonderful vibe all over the place. Hotel rooms are being used by so many different people from all over the world carrying different energies, so cleanliness is the most important part when I book a hotel room since it’s my let go and resting place. You know a hotel cares for its guests when you see the bathroom. The bathroom was perfect! There were lots of options to choose from in the breakfast. each had its own unique taste.

Not that it bothered me… But the wooden floors in my room were really squeaky. There was a lot of movement and people around my room during most hours, since my room was on the 3rd floor next to the food serving location.

Keeping the cut fruits at 19 degrees or so doesn't make it good to eat. They are too cold and gives an impression that they may be stale also. Same with sweets.

Communication regarding early check-in should be better - staff should be better trained

Items that were finishing were not being replenished. For example when the coconut chutney for idly finished around 9:30 am it did not get replenished so we had idly without chutney !!!

Extremely good breakfast with lot of variety and choices. The taste and cooking was very good

There was Maggi during breakfast. While I love Maggi, i think from a health perspective this tempting dish should not be offered...

Facilities, Room, food, room service, breakfast - all good. Maybe as a resort need to plan some activities onsite for those who do not venture to the city.

It was great that there was a possibility to go over to Mayfair Lagoon, this made me give higher rating to the place. The pool and the venue of the Lagoon is great!

Don't sleep on the 3rd floor, it is very loud due to the proximity of the restaurant. There are high (2*9%) taxes on food and drink which is not shown on the menu. The prices of the restaurants and bars are Western European, 5-6 times higher than Indian prices.

The staff were very courteous.. The room was worth the price we paid

The tea supplied was very weak ..would have liked stronger tea like Assam or Darjeeling tea..

The hotel exceeded my expectations by all means. Friendly staff, luxury furniture and building. Comfort room and bed, clean white towels and all necessary amenities. Value of money. I could rate it as a 5 star hotel.

I cannot find anything negative to say.
