Gypsy Walker is a brilliant homestay near to the Varkala Cliffside. It is in a quiet area away from the main tourist spot, but still easily within walking distance. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean, and the balcony is a brilliant addition! I didn't have AC in my room, but the fan kept me cool enough (in October). The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the other facilities seemed good, and there are also some nice communal spaces. Overall really good value for money.

If you want accommodation on the cliffside (i.e., with a sea view), find somewhere else, otherwise it's a great spot!

We stayed 2 nights and felt very much at home! The staff (Anoop) was very friendly, attentive and always there. The place itself is located very near the cliff and Varkala beach. It is a quiet area and provided space for our two motorcycles. Our room was fantastic, size was good, very clean! They provided us with their own water (filtered and cleaned). We think this is very ecological. The interior of Gypsy Walker is very nice with beautiful wall paintings. We would definitely come back and can warmly recommend the Gypsy Walker.

We stayed 3 days at gypsy walker. The location was very close to the cliff and can be reached by foot. The hospitality was good & the manager Mohamed took really good care of us in terms of stay, food and suggesting near by attractions etc etc.

The rooms were bit congested for a family of three but was never an issue.

Set back but within an easy walk of the beach. Room were comfortable and neat, loved the balcony.

It wasn’t quite as peaceful as we were looking for due to the way they build the houses so close - and the number of dogs. But if that’s the only thing we could find to criticise you can tell we were comfortable here.

Very comfortable and spotless room. Despite not having AC I found I didn't even need it, such was the effectiveness of the fan. Nice balcony for drying clothes. Short walk to the cliffside for restaurants etc Aneesh was incredibly helpful and friendly. I enjoyed our chats. Suresh was very good at communicating via WhatsApp

The property is very beautiful, clean and it has very comfortable beds. It is very close to the beach, the cliff and all the shops and restaurant. The staff is amazing, especially Anish, he made sure my stay was very smooth and comfortable, and helped me out with many requests and gave me good tips for money exchange etc.

Really enjoyed my stay here - perfect location close to the cliff where there is the beach and many food and drink options. Super clean and affordable price for a private room. Anish was super helpful for any help I needed with onward travel and was always wanting to make sure my stay was as comfortable as possible :)

Comfy room, many amenities, nice hot shower, free drinking water available, good location, mostly quiet, very friendly staff.

Roof terrace was nice, but could use some more relaxing furniture.

Definitely the comfiest home stay we visited in Kerala - really nice comfy bed and good aircon. It was also clean the bathroom was in good order. A bonus was that there was a kettle and tea in the room. The location is very close to the main strip of the cliff.

Other home stays we stayed at all had like a list of suggested activities and good restaurants etc which this one didn’t. The place also seemed quite quiet.

the staff was very helpful and cared about everything. you can reach them at every time the breakfast was big and good maybe the cleanest accomodation I stayed during the india trip

hot water was not always working in my opinion greedy additional price for AC (800 INR per day)
