Marvelous breakfast and amazing view!

The jacuzzi was disappointing, It was difficult to reach (through the dining room) and was not clean enough.

Location. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food was good. Views from dining room were exceptional.

Very limited availability of double beds. Beds are quite high. No view from the ground floor bedroom - looks out onto the street so little privacy.

The first room that we were shown to was dark and smelled of drains. I rejected this and the very pleasant young lady at reception, Sra Margarida, took charge of the situation and arranged a very nice room for us. We were made to feel very welcome. Sra Margarida is a great asset to this hotel. Dinner, sitting by the window with fantastic views, was a memorable experience. The young maitre d was knowledgeable and efficient. We had pork glazed with plums. It was outstanding and the nicest piece of pork I've ever had. No nouveau cuisine nonsense. Proper portions! We were recommended to try the Altas Quintas 2022 Reserva. This is a very fine red coming in at a cheeky 15%. Highly recommended. After an excellent night's sleep we awoke to catch the sunrise followed by a a hearty breakfast. The bacon was excellent and enjoyable, unusual south of Britain's shores. The scrambled egg was rich and creamy. It was world class.

25€ was a bit steep for having our small dog with us.

Good location in the middle of Marvão. Great breakfast with an amazing view. Room was a good size and very comfortable, also with Delta coffee. The seating areas near the reception were well set up also with a log fire giving a really nice space to sit and read for a few hours. Staff were attentive asking if we needed anything, friendly welcome on arrival. Just to help some others, there is a huge parking area on the entrance to the village outside the walls which was free, at least in winted. It was less than 5 minutes to walk to the hotel without driving through the narrow streets.

The room was a bit cold, it seemed the air conditioner wasn't heating too much. The boy working at breakfast on the Monday looked a bit lost, not refilling any of the thing which ran out. Neither of these detracted from the experience though.

Restaurant could have been better considering the cost

The view is spectacular. The breakfast with local products was very satisfying and the gourmet dinner is engrained in my memory.

Step in tub/shower combination with a very small splash guard. It was very easy to get the bathroom floor wet and slippery. The actual name of the hotel is slightly different than as listed here in Booking. It let to a little confusion in locating it using GPS which was an adventure with a rental car and extremely NARROW streets. Luckily the town is small enough to get to the correct destination. I would suggest that the hotel and Booking adjust the listing to reflect the current name.

Couldn’t ask for better location. Magical place with views far and wide and beyond the Spanish border. Excellent service from a dedicated and welcoming staff. Restaurant host, George is absolutely delightful and genuinely cares about guests having the best experience. Many thanks to everyone at the Pousada for making We felt very much at home and had a wonderful time.

All was great and as expected. Bed a bit too small for us but not a problem for a couple of nights.

Staff are very welcoming and friendly. Hotel is located on the top of a hill with fantastic views. Parking is ok, with a short walk to the front of the hotel. There are narrow streets, uneven cobbles and steps which is the character of the town. Rooms were clean and tidy, very quiet. Restaurant staff were engaging, food was great and served well. You need to book early as it gets busy all year round.

The staff were amazing, friendly, and very accommodating, going out of their way to help us. Especially Daniela at the front desk and Alex at the restaurant. The bed was very comfortable and the facilities were great, excellent restaurant, and perfect location.

no "view" as advertised, literally a view into the wall across the small street. The listing was misleading, even had a photo of a view, but the patio was enclosed by 4 walls and no windows, and then the window next to the bed inside had no actual view.
