We stayed for a single night. The location was easy to reach via car and had plenty of parking available. The room was clean and the hotel staff were friendly and approachable. The breakfast options available were great!

The bathroom was a bit dated and we attempted to utilize the laundry facilities, however, after 2 attempts with the dryer and our clothing still being quite wet, we had to pack it up and take it to a local laundry mat to dry. I did mention the dryer not working to the front desk staff and can't comment on if it has been repaired or not.

I usually stay in an air bnb in Pictou, however we couldn’t get into one back on April 24th so we decided to stay at the Holiday inn express. I actually really enjoyed my stay, we were so amazed by the options you had for breakfast(gluten free). The staff was so friendly and welcoming. The cleanliness of this hotel was great. I loved how there is a pool for my son to enjoy as well. So when my grandmother passed I decided to rebook again with this hotel May the 7th. I was yet again impressed by this hotel and will be returning each time I go to visit my family.

Only thing I wasn’t a fan of is the TV options. I feel like there should be an option for renting a movie. While I attended a wake my son and boyfriend stayed back at the hotel and did not find too much in the room to do. I feel that would be a great option to provide to the guests.

We liked the location, price was fair, clean rooms. Didn’t have breakfast. We had other arrangements

We had no cable TV. (There was no coax cable from the wall to the tv). The front desk staff offered to move us to another room but we were on the way out for the evening and it wasn’t convenient). The lady advised that she would give us a discount on the room for our inconvenience. I checked my MasterCard the next day and there was no discount.

Clean, spacious rooms. Good breakfast buffet. Good parking. Great view. Quietness.

Definitely the temperature in the swimming pool - both room and water. Our son literally turned blue and was shivering after a few minutes, and we had to leave. Maybe complimentary swimming pool slippers would have been the extra touch that other same-priced hotels offer.

The location was convenient, close to the local arena/wellness centre where my son was in a hockey tournament. The continental breakfast the next morning was quite good. The beds in the room were very comfortable.

The television was small but this was okay as we did not spend much time in the room. The internet was difficult to connect to on one of our devices but no problem on our phones.

Breakfast was good there was lots to pick from and staff were really good to keep on top of refilling everything. The hotel was nice.

Every time we went in the pool we had to go and ask for towels Also we are a family of 5 and they only supplied us with 3 towels and face clothes so again I had to go and get more. We checked in and pre booked as a family of 5 so you would think they would have left 5 of each. I would have liked to see a phone book and maybe some menus in the room from some restaurants in the area. Some places have binders done up about things to do in the area.

Having a pool was a huge reason why we booked this hotel. It was on the smaller side but the waterslide didn't disappoint. Comfortable beds. It was nice to see a hotel being environmentally friendly using large pump bottles of shampoo and soap instead of individual. AC was a definite benefit it was a really hot weekend.

There were vending machines at the hotel but we couldn't get any cards to work on them. If the water slide was in use other guests had to move to the other end of the pool to avoid the splash off

Staff was exceptional. they went out of the way to find me details about additional things i wanted to do in Pictou. every one was very friendly. I am not mentioning the few names i remember as It would undermine the rest of the staff who also mde my stay the best one

Pool was a bit too crowded. but that also because there was a girls hocky team staying the weekend

The pool with the slide was a nice feature and a key factor in our choice. Rooms were nice and clean as well as well appointed. Breakfast was good.

The pool had a lot of chlorine! The odour was very strong! For those of us who did not enter the pool, our eyes were very irritated and watering.

Everything was pretty great. Great location, nice pool for the kids, and nice large family suite.

The breakfast was the disappointment the bananas were overripe and scrambled eggs were almost powder like taste as my 10 year old wouldn't eat them and he likes everything. Other then that the rest of the breakfast was pretty good.
