This is an exceptionally nice B&B in a stunningly beautiful historical building. We had come across this place almost by chance as we had to make some last minute changes to our travel plans and had to stay in Pictou - and we're so glad we did, as Pictou is a great little town with so much to see and this B&B is a true gem. Everything was absolutely clean and furniture and decorations were very tasteful and in perfect harmony with the architecture. It is apparent that the hosts, Brenda and George, pay great attention to detail. They were very helpful and friendly, we felt so much at ease there. Breakfast was delicious, too. We enjoyed our stay very much and regret we couldn't stay longer - thanks for having us!

Very nice room, spacious and well-appointed. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was on the small side, but the owners have done a nice job fitting everything in.
A small point, and not the fault of the owners- our room was on the street side, so it was a bit noisy even in the small town of Pictou. As we did our booking via Booking.com, that info wasn’t available on the website. The only reason I gave it a 9 instead of a 10.

The decor of the entire B&B is exquisite and the room is cozily and charmefully furnished with great attention to details. Bed was huge and one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in (icing on the cake bed linen had a lovely flowery pattern and it smelt awesome). Hosts are great: super friendly and super helpful. They really make you feel welcome. Breakfast was truly delicious, the granola in particular.
Bathroom maybe a tad small, but honestly just a very minor point in what was a fantastic experience.

Oh my goodness, there was nothing not to like about this property. The rooms were beautifully decorated and spacious. The owners greeted us at the door and were kind and generous. I felt like I was visiting friends. Breakfast in the dining room was superb. And we met so many nice people at breakfast sitting together. The location is fabulous, right near the waterfront where all the restaurants and shops are. The yard is beautiful to sit in. I don’t think I’ve ever had a better bed-and-breakfast experience.
Nothing! It was perfection.

Coming from Prince Edward Island and heading to Cape Breton Island we unfortunately only stayed there for one night. The owners made us feel welcome from the first moment and the service and communication was outstanding. The kingsize bed was very comfortable and the room spotless clean. The breakfast was awesome. The owners provided good recommendations for restaurants which are in walking distance from the B&B. We can highly recommend the B&B and would definitely stay there again.

Brenda and George were so welcoming when we arrived, gave us a quick tour, provided information about the area, and we could tell they enjoyed meeting their guests. We sat in the back yard with some of the other guests, along with Brenda and George, and enjoyed a sip of wine and relaxing together. We all had a nice conversation. The home cooked breakfast in the morning was delicious, and the added surprise "go-snack" for the road was very thoughtful (and enjoyed later in the day).

We loved our stay at Willow House! Brenda and George were extremely welcoming and kind. They provided great suggestions for walking and restaurants. We loved the atmosphere and the breakfast was wonderful. We would happily stay here again!
Only (tiny) “compliant” was that the pillows were a little bit hard, but that is to be expected. Everyone has different pillow preferences.

Innkeepers, Brenda and George, are wonderful! Breakfast was exceptional!! Hot, cooked gourmet type meal with beautiful presentation of food. Inn was very quiet. We stayed once in the Maple Room and once in the Willow Room. I would suggest the Willow Room if available; it's a bit roomier and the bathroom is a bit bigger. Thank you very much for a great experience!
Well, the bathrooms could use a stand or something to place a small toiletries bag on.

Very nice house. Brenda and George were very welcoming hosts. Excellent breakfast. We arrived quite late ca. 8pm and Brenda rang round to find us an eating option at the nearby Waterview Restaurant which stayed open beyond its normal closing time.
Nothing - would have liked to stay longer but had already booked our next destination.

The property is well maintained. It was warm and inviting. The house is scrupulously clean and again, very well maintained. It has ambiance and warmth. Our room was large and comfortable. It had good lighting (both natural and artificial). The ensuite is small but again well laid out. The king size bed was comfortable. For me, the fact the windows could be opened was a huge plus. Breakfast was superb and Brenda went out of her way to ensure that my husband (who has gluten issues) had the same fabulous breakfast as the rest of us. And the ribbon that ties the very pretty package that is Willow House are your hosts, Brenda and George. They are friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable about their home and their town. They go out of their way to make you feel like family. We would definitely recommend the Willow House Inn.
It’s not a case of not liking something about the property, my only hesitation on not giving it a 10/10 is that this pretty Inn is not accessible to anyone who can’t do stairs. Like most old homes, the staircases are relatively steep and they are narrow. I’m somewhat mobility challenged but because I am still ambulatory the stairs were challenging but not incapacitating.
