Initially we felt like it was too central and noisy, but simply listening to the dancing and nightlife from our room was incredibly relaxing and enjoyable. The location is very central and walkable to every point of interest in the city. Banks, food, shopping, art galleries, excellent cafes … it’s got everything! The staff are so kind, helpful and accommodating too. There is a restaurant downstairs, laundry services, travel services, massages … anything you need the staff will help you with. I cannot say enough things about every single person who works there. They are all very special and patient! We really loved everything about our stay :)

If we had to dislike one thing about the property, it’s the beds. They are comfortable enough, albeit a bit hard.

The location is excellent! You can't be more in the center of town than this. I also appreciated that the hotel had an elevator. Overall, the stay was pleasant, staff nice, and room/facilities were clean. I stayed on the 2nd floor and had a room with a balcony facing the centro. I was pleasantly surprised that it was not too noisy in the morning/late night hours.. At least for me. Noise didn't start until after 8a or so, and by 10p, it quieted down. Then again, I can sleep through most things. Also, I never once heard the church bells. Be advised there was some construction when I went, but it started & ended at a reasonable hour. There's a restaurant and bar inside the hotel but I never used it. There are also plenty of additional bars and restaurants just within steps of the hotel.

It would have helped to have a safe in the room. I feel like it's one of the basic amenities. Although they did have a safe that was available anytime, you had to go to the lobby in order to access your safe drawer. Also, the water temperature in the shower was difficult to get just right. Or maybe it was just my room. Lastly, I don't go on vacation to watch TV but I do like to have it on when I'm in the room, unfortunately the quality of the image and signal were so bad that I never turned it on after the first day.

I loved this hotel. The location is perfect. As a female solo traveller, I felt very safe. It can be noisy in the zocolo but it is a good noise. It’s music and dancing and people enjoying themselves. I had no problem relaxing in my room and sleeping at night. The room was simple and clean. Bathroom was updated and very nice. Air conditioning worked well. There are renovations going on during the day on the top floor but that didn’t bother me at all. The staff was helpful, pleasant and non-intrusive.

The location was perfect. Located between the cathedral and the Zocalo. Walking distance to food and shopping. The building’s architecture is amazing. We had a balcony with a great view.

Our room faced the Zocalo and the New Year’s stage and celebration area. It was loud on New Year’s Eve. However, very quiet the following day.

Because it's located at the Zocalo the noise can start very early and end late. The Zocalo is often used for many festivities, concerts, etc... The mattress could be better but comfortable enough to sleep.

Beautiful old hotel right in the historic zocalo. Very clean, comfortable room with plenty of hot water, coffee maker, and bottled water everyday. Wi-Fi was very strong. We loved and used our balcony constantly to hear the happenings in the zocalo. 2 working elevators and great bellmen to help with anything. We absolutely loved our stay!

There was nothing to complain about.

Great Mexican charm right on the zocalo , close to restaurants, shopping and cultural activities. Rooms were spacious.

When we went to pay the bill the price charged differed from what was quoted on Bookings.com. Recommend at check in to verify the price.

Great location, good sized room, very comfy bed. Newly renovated but still retains its historical charm. One thing to note, this hotel is located at the main square so it’s not surprising to hear street activities early in the morning or late at night. It wasn’t a problem for me.

Perfect location for us. You could walk out your door and be in the middle of it all!

I don’t have anything negative about the place. We all enjoyed our stay. We had 2 kiddos with us and it worked out well.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel 40 years ago when we were dating. When we asked for a room wit a balcony they did not hesitate. Great experience revisiting our youth. This is the nicest place we stayed at in our 2.5 week Oaxaca visit. Location was excellent overlooking the Zocalo.
