This hotel is right on the lake and in the middle of fantastic wildlife. You can sit and eat your lunch and be surrounded by zebras, see a giraffe on its afternoon stroll, check out the monkeys as they frolic around and carefully approach the hippos when they come out in the evening. The hotel can arrange a boat trip to crescent island where you can walk among all kinds of wildlife. The buffet is good, the rooms are comfortable and the staff are wonderful - kind, helpful and fun. There is a bar so you can grab a beer on the veranda and there is a sweet gift shop if you need to pick up some presents for home.
I liked it all

The location is right in Naivasha, easy access from town and Nairobi. The scenery was amazing, right near the lake. Wonderful experience seeing animals up close- zebra, giraffes and hippos. Inclusive meals is easy and was variety of buffet food options
The pool bar was not open and no one was around to take my order. Cocktail drinks prices at the restaurant bar are high and should be reduced. No sweet wine options. The hot water is solar so if no sun outside then no hot water to use. The pressure was low since many people were taking showers in the morning, so we couldn’t take a shower. Had to wash up with the sink water which was a little warm.

Great to have animals, particularly, the hippos on the territory of the hotel. The place has a nice pool, very good buffet. Reminder keep windows and doors of your rooms shut, especially when you have food inside, as monkeys appear in seconds to take that food away from you.
IMHO, it's overpriced even with all the beauty and comfort it offers. Having booked we selected an option for 4 people in one room also thinking that a room MUST be big enough to accomodate 4 people but it very much wasn't, it was a normal 2-people room where the staff offered on the spot to put 2 extra beds, so they didn't even prepare the room. So of course we were pushed into booking one more 2-people room, meaning we have paid de facto for 6 people: so once for 4, and additionally on the spot for 2 people. It's not professional to even have the sort of offer they sell - 4 people in a 2-people room in the first place, especially if the hotel positions themselves as high class.

I really think this hotel deserves a better rating (yet we were lucky it was rated lower than it deserves, and we could book it last minute for the New Year's. It feels like it has this rating because of subpar wi-fi, but it is not the most important thing on vacation, after all! It is a historical place - the first resort here was built in the 1930s, and there are some abandoned structures on the territory, but all in all the grounds are just great - lots of space for walking and a great position for watching the sunset. The staff was wonderful, the New Year celebration was very festive with huge campfire, open-air dinner, live music and impressive fireworks. The deluxe room was cosy (not new, but well renovated) - with a great view from the terrace. At night we could see hippos on the lawn in 10 m from our window! It is also ideally located for taking a boat trip to Crescent Island when you can walk with giraffes and zebras. All in all, it's a great place!
Wi-Fi connection was not stable.

Beautiful location right on the lake, with wild animals walking around. Very nice swimming pool. A beautiful veranda for breakfasts and dinners. The hotel is really well located. The staff is really friendly and helpful, they made our stay enjoyable.
While being in a beautiful building, the hotel looks rundown (it’s definitely not a 5 stars, more a 3 or a low 4 stars). The door of our room didn’t open without a very hard push, the TV was blurry and old, the phone too, some tiles in the bathroom were damaged, few old stains on the walls, the mosquito net around the bed looked very cheap, a few abandoned buildings on the property… The buffet was diverse, but the food was not so good and the time of serving very short (2 hours). We were disappointed and had some mixed feelings, especially for such a high price!

The hotel is really close to the lakes edge We were guided to a short distance from hippos grazing on the grass in the evening. Zebra and giraffes also wandered through the gardens - felt totally safe as staff always on duty. The food was delicious and plentiful and the staff were so helpful- particularly with our grandson’s food and bottles of milk.
Nothing particularly- the bedrooms decor could be updated which I believe is planned anyway

My family and I were very happy with our stay just before Christmas. Our two little ones loved the playground, pool, and all the animals we saw (ie giraffe, zebra, various deer, wildebeest, monkeys and sooooooo many hippos!) We had the full board and every meal was excellent. Service is fantastic! The servers in the restaurant score 100% on customer service.
I agree with some other posts that the rooms could be updated a bit, but we were more than comfortable.

It met our expectations and went beyond. I could give it a greater number than 10. Wonderful view, zebras and waterbucks roam around in the day time and hippos in the evening. I specially like to thank Samuel for his wonderful sense of responsibility. He arranged the transfers and entertainments and closely was following it. Food was delicious and the staff like all the Kenyans we met were kind, helpful and friendly.
Don’t find it as a negative point, but I wish when it came to animal human interaction in the garden, the expectation was to ask the guests to step back and animals could keep their national moves. I believe we were the ones in animals habitat and as a guest not only I didn’t mind but also I would appreciate if animals came first. And I hope they entirely replace the plastic bottles with the glass ones.

We had an incredible stay. The staff were very helpful and friendly and especially with our 1yr old son. The kids playground seemed quite new and big. Amazing for kids. We have seen a lot of different animals passing by, the staff was happy to explain and kept the guests safe at night. Many vegetarian options and variety of local and international meals.

This old country club hotel, which has a colourful history, is in a beautiful setting, teeming with zebras, waterbuck, hippos, monkeys and the occasional giraffe. The rooms/bathrooms are spacious and comfortable. The restaurant and verandah have great views, and the food and service are very good. I didn't swim, but the pool area was really nice. I would definitely recommend staying here.
