I think the hotel is better than described here. The beach is much better than expected and there is WiFi in the rooms and across the grounds. The staff is incredibly kind. Close to a great affordable restaurant, Strawberry Restaurant, and a good supermarket, Savers enterprises.

Room service would come at random hours and if you were still in they would not come back. I ran out of sugar and toilet paper and it was not replaced. The on-site restaurant appears to be mostly closed and breakfast options are a bit pricey.

I liked that it was close to the beach. It felt relaxing hearing the waves crash as I went to bed. The Beach bar was also a nice spot to go relax and read a book

The shower for sure needs updating. At least make it so that it's tiltable and able to adjust the temperature and not just one temperature. That was pretty much the only issue I had with the spot

Really great stay! Everything was comfortable; the hot water shower worked well, nice fridge/microwave/hot water kettle/French press for coffee. Even if you book the room with garden view, you still get a sea view! Dinner at restaurant absolutely amazing!

While the dinner staff at the restaurant was great, the breakfast staff was a little slow/unhelpful. Food was still good.

The staff are very friendly/helpful and the location in Portsmouth is perfect just on the edge of town. The hotel sits right on the beachfront ideal for swimming, snorkelling and perfect for watching the setting sun. There is a reef right next to the pier you can spend hours snorkelling and observing the marine life, the hotel lends out snorkelling gear for free.

Unfortunately I timed my stay badly as the hotel was having a refit to the restaurant/bar so I cannot comment on that. The room itself was very basic and averagely clean okay for the price, could do with a kettle and some kitchen utensils to use with the microwave.

I stayed in a room with a balcony overlooking the ocean 🌊 and went to sleep each night with the rushing sounds of the waves...It was a dream come true! I enjoyed sitting on the plastic adjustable lounge beach chair, observing the ocean's ripples and waves, and enjoying the beautiful scenery of the island 🏝️ The staff were friendly, helpful with information on places to visit on the island, and very respectful.

I would have liked to eat at the hotel's restaurant but it was not functioning at the time. I sourced for food (very tasty food from Green Light Restaurant) in the town centre.

The hotel is also connected to the Picard Beach cottages, which is the room they upgraded me to. I cannot recommend staying there more. But either one is waterfront and tucked away in a quiet area of Portsmouth. The black sand beach, a few steps away, is lovely for walking and there’s a reef out there for snorkeling. The water is placid and a perfect temperature. you can walk (or run) the whole length. It’s a little more than a mile end to end (with some rocky areas). The staff was wonderful, they helped me book tours and taxis and they were generally warm and I was grateful for that. They booked me a tour on the Indian river and I got picked up at the dock out front! The restaurant was great! I was really hungry my last night and they made me a delicious meal. the red bean soup, oh my god, that was heavenly. Also, the sunsets there are stunning (really, some of the best since it’s wide open. Look for a green flash just before the sun disappears! Cannot recommend more.

I couldn’t figure out the shower at first.

The staffs were super friendly & helpful especially the receptionist Gio. I like that they offered breakfast on site and that the rooms were cleaned almost every day

the location is amazing, very nice beach. bring your snorkel gear cause there are lots of fish! The sea is literally 5 steps away! The restaurant has delicious meals, though the portions are small and somewhat expensive.

we didn’t have soap in the room. The portion sizes in the restaurant were too small.

Quiet beacfront location

Not much else around in terms of eating options.

Nice place near beach with all necessities . lovely staff, good value for money .

Un organised car park no space kept at the end for vehicle to turn around . our driver has to reverse vehicle all the way back to main road more than 900m.
