Staying at the Croydon always feels like an understated luxury. The rooms are well-designed and comfortable, and we had the most incredible sleep on the mattresses. There is adequate parking and the landscaping/gardens create a lovely atmosphere. My partner raved about the breakfast (I slept in - did I mention the mattresses?).

We arrived at the stated check-in time however our room wasn't ready. Fortunately, the receptionist arranged for us to use another room however our key card didn't work, so we can to trek back and forth across the property to get that fixed. We were short on time (we had to be somewhere shortly after) so it wasn't ideal, however, in the grand scheme of things, it was only a small logistical hiccup and the rest of the stay was delightful.

The breakfast was not good and the dinner menu was limited for vegetarians. We ate at the bar which was fun. We loved the grounds. The gardens were fantastic.

The shower was pathetic - no real pressure. There were no clear instructions as to how to operate the heat pump and when we had got that sorted the cleaners dropped the temperature down during the day which was sensible but we couldn't get it back to operate as we wanted it. A lot of fluffing around

We stayed 4 nights to attend a wedding reception on the Friday 10.3.23. We had a wonderful evening meal on the Sunday night 12.3.23 and again on Monday morning for breakfast 13.3.23 - Tracey looked after us amazingly and had exceptional service from her :) The location and facilities were lovely, as was the decor throughout the entire property.

Unfortunately, the only downfall of our stay was the service we received at breakfast both on Saturday 11.3.23 and Sunday 12.3.23 mornings, the lady serving us wasn't engaging or friendly which was a shame as the rest of our stay was great.

Excellent room, and splendid looking facility. Easy to find. Very comfy bed.

A little disappointed the restaurant was booked out for dinner - though looking at it breakfast time, it wouldn't take much. Glad I'm a (relatively) skinny bugger - toilet awfully close to the room - only blemish to an otherwise superb room.

We loved the space…in the room and facility as a whole…lovely room to breathe and relax. Lovely gardens and rural setting so we enjoyed this outlook from our room, dining room etc. Fine dining from restaurant…enjoyed evening and breakfast meals. Friendly staff. Comfy bed. All good. Will return.

All good….nothing we would change.

What i found the housekeeper was very helpful even though she was on a schedule to get rooms cleaned.

I don't like how you only get a small amount of milk only enough for 1 coffee really. I know you can ask for more but adding extra in all motels would be an advantage.

Our family room was so spacious and modern. We were lucky enough to get early check-in and late check out and we could park our car right outside our room. It was great having an extra tv in the parent's bedroom. I loved the decor of Reception and the restaurant. We enjoyed a fantastic evening meal and breakfast. The staff were really friendly.

We pulled in late but were pleasantly surprised to have staff on the desk. The room was beautifully decorated and I suspect newly renovated with extremely comfortable beds. The staff were very friendly as well.

We wish we could have stayed to spend more time looking around. Gore.

Modern facilities on the inside. Quiet, lovely gardens. Restaurant food was very nice.

Bathrooms could do with a little more attention to detail. They were basic clean, but base of tap, plug edge and shower edges could do with a brush clean and a spritz of bleach. Toilet could also do with a bit extra. Some Staff were a bit unenthusiastic, but of course they were working over the new year.

The staff were friendly and helpful, meals were awesome. The setting was great, my grandson loved to look out the window and see the sheep. Room was big enough to accommodate all of us without tripping over each other.

The only negative is it didn't supply a toaster or microwave in the room, traveling with a small toddler we needed the toaster for his breakfast and microwave to heat his bottles.luckily I emailed b4 hand and ask if they had either of them so ended up bringing my own toaster
