The food was so delicious and freshly prepared for us upon our order on arrival. The staff was extremely friendly and hospitable, we felt so welcome and comfortable here! The room was also spacious, clean and very comfy. We wanted to head off very early in the morning for a hike and they prepared us our breakfast to go (at 5am!). And they even offered free accommodation and food for our tour guide which we really appreciated!

The property is situated on a rather steep hill. For us it wasn’t a problem at all since we were with a driver, but the location might need to be considered depending on your mode of transportation.

This was by far the best stay we had in Sri Lanka (probably in my life), and we haven't even finished our trip yet! First and foremost, the staff, Krishna and Najvy (I'm probably spelling that wrong) made this experience exceptional. They were so helpful, caring, and genuine. Krishna gave us service that was over and beyond like anything we'd had before. He's also charming and so funny, so be ready to enjoy his wit. Najvy is both as brilliant a cook as he is a concierge. He introduced us to more Sri Lankan dishes than we had encountered in our first week, and he was eager to share items that we'd only be able to discover if we had lived in the country for an extended period of time. His recommendations for activities perfectly suited our limited time, and he helped arrange our transport which ensured that we paid fair rates. He even packed us a breakfast for the sunrise hike at Horton Plains, and Krishna served us coffee to get us going. In addition, the rooms and grounds were all cleaned meticulously and well maintained. In short, this place is reason enough to visit Nuwara Eliya, and will be on our list of destinations when we return.

What a host! We arrived very late and tired from a long journey. We were instantly welcomed and greeted with refreshments and a friendly face. He organised for food to be delivered to the accommodation, despite the time. The bed was extremely comfortable with a lovely view from the balcony to drink your morning coffee with. The following morning, the host provided lots of useful information and interesting historical facts about the local area (and Sri Lanka in general). If we visit the area again, we will be coming back to MistHill Rest!!

Beautiful hotel with friendly staff. Our cleanest stay in Sri Lanka! Comfortable and spacious rooms and beds, with a little balcony too. The shower was very good with hot water. Food was exceptional for breakfast and dinner. There are breakfast options including dosa with chutney and coconut roti with Dahl and coconut sambol. We opted for dinner there and we’re surprisingly glad we did - great curries and puri. Staff regularly arranged well-priced tuk tuks to get around the area. Special mention to Krishna who was attentive and kind throughout our stay.

The location is a bit out of town and up a hill. It felt a little random and removed. That said, you need a tuk tuk to get to most of the tea factories/waterfalls in Nuwara Eliya anyway so it wasn’t a major issue. Be aware it is the other side of Nuwara Eliya from the train station (Nanu Oya) and takes about 30 mins in tuk tuk, so factor that in if you are travelling by rail.

Great owners (or keeper), super lovely chief, they are such wonderful humans with kind heart. We had great chat, they prepared lovely breakfast for us, like 5am, and a lovely place for our driver to sleep too. Driver also want me so send huge thanks to them because he was treated like a family. The whole place is maga clean and smell nice, even 5 starts hotel’s shower room are not as clean as their ones. You will know what I mean once you travel around this whole country.

The staff was extraordinary friendly. Welcome drink when we arrived. Super clean hotels. Owned by British, so ypu can feel England inside - Bed, linen, furniture, stairs, windows. European style. Extraordinary brekfast served! Super delicious omlete - the first such during 1,5 week in Sri Lanka. The real taste of real coffee. Quiet surrounding. No horning or singing in the morning. Really great stay. Exceeded our expectations! Thank you!

Best stay in Sri Lanka !! Very tasty, warm breakfast with different options Rooms very nicely decorated & clean with warm duvets, amenities such shower gel and shampoo, toothbrush Kettle and tea in the room, everything what you need ;) On the arrival we received a tea and cookies. Owner and other staff extremely helpful and polite ! They have tuk tuk to take you up the hill. I would stay there again !

The rooms were clean and comfortable, with spectacular views of the mountains. Rooms were always cleaned and none of our belongings was moved or tampered with. The staff were quite accommodating and hospitable, particularly our butler, Krishna, and were always prepared to provide facilities that wouldn't typically be involved in the services listed (additional food for kids and picky eaters and laundry)

I like everything.

The value for money was over the top. The rooms are sooo clean and the breakfast was exceptionaly good. But the best are the people working there who made everything to make out stay smooth and comfortable. I can highly recommend this place even for more than one night and for who ever wants to wake up with a great view and get more than good value for their money!!

Where do I start? This place is the coziest place I have ever stayed in. The room is super clean and has a warm feeling. The staff are beyond amazing. They went above and beyond to give us such an amazing experience. The chef is so talented, and the food was really tasty. You have to stay in this place and I'm sure you will have the same experience and be amazed. Lastly for the team, God bless your heart ❤️ 💙 and big thank you from my sister and I.
