The hostel is located right across from the JR station. The free parking area is a bit of a trek from the hostel, which can be a hassle if you're arriving in winter. You can easily stroll over to Breakwater Dome from there. The room is roomy enough for two guests. The shower and toilet are kept clean and stocked with plenty of amenities. Plus, you can whip up your coffee and tea in the shared pantry.

The staff wasn't very friendly. He did go over everything with us during check-in, but he had a pretty serious expression the whole time. Just to clarify, we weren't checking in late.

The location of the hostel is right near the station, which is great. Moreover, the kitchen area is comfortable and has everything that one would need. The bunk beds were also very good: spacious, great individual light and curtains. The bathroom was clean and the shower had good pressure and water temperature. There is also a bike garage for 500 yens a night per bike, which makes this hostel the perfect bikepacking stop. Moreover, there is a tattoo friendly onsen 15 minutes walking from there, as well as good restaurants. We really enjoyed our stay.

There was no space that we saw or was explained to us regarding our bags. A space to store them in the room would be great.

It was one of the most clean and comfortable hostel I ever stayed. Wonderful customer service. Highly recommend to everyone. Inside the hotel is Japanese rules - meaning take off shoes before you enter the rooms. They provide you with room slippers with purchase. Do not wear hostel slippers inside the room! They had free tea/coffee/miso soup for guest. Laundry service was great! I had to check in very late, but they gave me instruction and it was easy to follow. Excellent customer service and wonderful stay. Futon was comfortable. I stayed in one of semi-single room. Lots of space. I would LOVE to come back and stay here again. Wifi was free and worked very well. Lots of information in both English and Japanese for things to do around the city. LOVED the stay. Thank you very much for wonderful hospitality! It was great and one of the BEST hostel I ever stay. Across from the train/bus station!!

Nothing I can think of - everything was beyond my expectation and it was WONDERFUL!

I enjoyed my "cabane" in Wakkanai... Lower space of a 4 bed mix-dorm, good light, desk, small box for valables with a key, curtain privacy. The commun lounge, dining room and kitchen were a nice spot to discussion with other travellers vans staff members. Osaki did his upmost to assist me and other travellers while I why there and saved literally another traveller trip. I definiteoy be back someday... ☺️

The location was great! We were right next to a cinema so that was nice for a spontaneous movie night! We were also within a comfortable driving distance to get to onsens and the Wakkanai attractions close by. The beds were extremely comfortable and I was able to sleep super well because of it - also close to a supermarket. The staff were very friendly and answered all the questions we had - the kitchen facilities were great, it was nice to have accessible cold water and make tea and miso for ourselves AND use the microwave and cutlery. Everything was very clean.

The hostel allows late check-in, which is very helpful, if you take the last train from Asahikawa at 20:06 and arrive to Wakkanai around midnight. You need to prepay your ballance via booking.com, then tell hotel operators abour your later arrival, and send copy of your passport to the provided email address, and they will send you self check-in instructions and codes. Strong wifi, complimentary tea at the reception, lockers with key, clean, very near railway station (~1 minute walking).

I've been in Wakkanai with a group of friends. The House is in the center, literally in front of the bus and train station and around there are several restaurants and conbinis. The apartment was really beautiful, clean and well maintained

Unfortunately the apartment was REALLY COLD, there was a heater which however only heated one room, while the other two where completely glacial

The place looks beautiful, fresh, good vibe. The staff is very helpful even though English it's not the spoken language. The rooms are very pleasant and the kitchen well equipped. One of the best hostels I have been. Ahhh, and do not forget the location. Near the bus station, ferry station and all the rent a car shops. Perfect!!!

The staff was very helpful. They explained the facilities, the keys, and the designated parking area to me clearly in simple Japanese so I could understand. The bed was comfortable.

When I entered my shared room, the winter heater was running very strong, in the middle of summer. It was 30°C outside and it was even hotter in the room. I turned it off immediately, but I wonder why they even allow the heater in the summer. There was one shower in my wing, so you have to wait a while. Also, it did not feel very clean. Bring shower shoes if you come here. You have to make your own bed as well, which is a bit troublesome.

Easy check-in after 2 pm, drop box for early checkout. Combination and side door access at night. Large garage for motorcycle parking. Large lobby/common room. Nice Luggage storage room with free bike locks for large suitcases, lockers for backpacks, extra bathrooms and shower. All new construction inside, better beds then my APA room, small personal locker in bed area for wallets, phones. Free earplugs if you need for snoring guests. Discount coupons for local businesses in lobby. Directly across from train and bus station, so easy at The Stay!
