The rate per night is reasonable for the location and inclusions. The staff were warm and helpful. There was a bit of a concern with my luggage delivery to the airport, but they were quick to assist. Breakfast and dinner are included with the room. Few options for breakfast, but the dinner selections were all delicious and filling. The 24-hour drink bar is also a huge plus. The single room is a little dated but it's spacious and comfortable. There is an ensuite sink which is convenient. The onsen is nice. It was always clean whenever I used it. I stayed for five (5) nights and had it to myself most of the time.
The hotel is a 15-20-minute walk from Kiso-Fukushima Station. This was my base for the Nakasendo, so this was a great warm-up.

Hotel location is beautiful, staff was friendly and helpful, room was large and clean with a view of the river which I enjoyed very much. The public bath was was very nice as well. The images on the site also do not really do the place justice, it looks much better when you are there.
"futon bed" apparently does not mean a futon on the floor. Which is really what I had hoped for and expected. Instead it is a lifted tatami with a futon on top. For me it is more comfortable to sleep on a futon on the floor, but the beds were still very comfortable, so not a big deal. Breakfast was decent, not great.

A really lovely room overlooking the river was a pleasant surprise. The room was enormous by Japanese standards and was very comfortable. The tatami mats and paper screens added to the warmth of the hotel. The staff were great; taking time to come to our room to explain the heating options, which were very effective. The hot bath was a very good temperature as was the sauna, which was new. This aspect was topped off with very nice soaps etc. The only downside was the breakfast, which was average. There was a reasonable choice but some options were not available. The early finish time of 8:30 wouldn’t suit everyone. That said, I’d recommend the hotel and wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

Breakfast was delicious, with a wide variety of options, as well as a range of unlimited drinks. I enjoyed many iced chocolates and warm corn soups. I highly recommend the dinners there as well. We got to choose between at least 6 options. We only stayed for two nights but all meals were very tasty, with many side dishes and a small dessert too. The rooms were very comfortable and spacious. We had a riverside facing room and it was very soothing to fall asleep to the sound of the river. The tatami mats and the room was well maintained. The onsen was clean and quiet, with a variety of soaps, shampoos and conditioners. It was very relaxing, and we were provided with a guide about how to onsen. If you’ve never been before, I highly recommend going to their onsen! Thank you again to all the friendly staff, we had a great stay!

Great spot overlooking Kiso river. Onsen great after walking all day. It’s a lovely walk from train station along river and narrow streets. Kiso is a lovely town. Hotel a bit older looking but comfortable and clean, great for the price. Breakfast was good with many options (had fruit, cereal and yoghurt). Our room was huge overlooking river and could open window for fresh air and hear the river below. Across the river was main checkpoint on Nakasendo route which was nice to visit the next day, and close by is also old samurai house.

We arrived late from Yabuhara (Nakasendo). Staff was really nice to check on us and assure us there are restaurants that opened when we reached. The place is kinda old but maintained quite well. We were too tired from a day of hiking, so we went straight to bed after we cleaned up. The place served us well as an overnight hotel, so we can continue for our next day walk on the Nakasendo. Breakfast was good. Excellent staff went out of her way to send an air pod left behind by my daughter to our next accommodation place. I'm most grateful for it.

This was excellent accommodation in Kiso for us who wanted to experience walking the Nakasendo trail. On top of that, the reception staff were exceptionally helpful. On the train from Nagiso to Kiso-Fukushima, I realised I had left my camera behind in a noodle shop in Tsumago. I sought the help of Kiso Mikawaya's reception staff to contact the shop in Tsumago-juku. To cut a long story short, the 2 ladies An and Yen at reception went out of their way and located and arranged for the camera to be sent to our next accommodation in Kofu. Many thanks ladies for your wonderful help!

We were a group of 4 doing the Nakasendo hike. Hotel is about 15 mins walk from train station in a lovely town. The hotel had every amenity that we needed. We took the half board option with breakfast and dinner included. We liked the dinner options available on the menu. They had a huge selection of caffeine free tea at the drinks station which was a rarity but a delightful surprise. Washing machine and washer on site makes it convenient for hikers travelling light. Price for stay very reasonable for what you get!

The room was clean and cozy, with everything I needed. I really enjoyed the sento—it was spotless, and everything was provided. The dinner and breakfast were excellent. The drink bar was fantastic, and I became a big fan of the tea. The staff were polite and friendly. The location by the river was beautiful. Yukata and haori were also provided. I slightly regretted only being able to stay one night, as I was on the Nakasendo trail. I would have happily stayed longer.
I booked what seemed to be the super-economy option, so the room didn’t have a single window, and the toilet/sink were quite a distance from the room. However, for the price paid and the services provided, this wasn’t a major issue.

All the staff was so kind and helpful. The traditional japanese style bedroom was perfect. I enjoyed the onsen everyday. The breakfast was good and complete. You have yukata, free drinks including soda, tea, coffee and cocoa and others stuff. There is a laundry and a message chair. You can purchase dinner everyday. I would definitely go back.
In comparison to all the positive points it’s just a detail but if I have to find something I’d say that the station requires a 15-20 minutes walk, but the taxi is cheap and walking in the village is always enjoyable.
