I've booked a stay at Toyoko before (in Asakusa, Tokyo), and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here in Daegu as well. It's not very far from the subway station (2-3 min walk), and it's an ideal location, since it's located in the downtown areas of Daegu (Banwoldang), making it easy for you to travel to other places by subway as well. As for the facilities, hotel room was nicely decorated, and they make the bed every day (I had one day where they changed the sheets, this depends on how long you stay). The hotel also offers you breakfast (which is a bit early for me (7-9 AM)), but I did enjoy their breakfast on two occasions. Staff was very kind and do speak English very well! Highly recommend Toyoko as they are very reliable, affordable, and professional!

Location was good, but the hotel was located on the 7th floor by entering a second elevator to the left of the entrance of the building. This isn't the fault of the hotel, but signage was a bit difficult to find, unless you walk in and close to the entrance to see the sign by the door. Walking around to locate the hotel the first time around when I arrived in Daegu was a bit confusing, but once I knew where to go and how to get to the 7th floor, this was a breeze every time!

For us a very good option quite in the center of the city. Parking seemed "chaotic" - but after we went to the reception we were told that there are dedicated places for the hotel guests as the general lot is shared with the building and from than it was easy. The parking fee for 1 day is absolutely fine for the location. You have to take 2 elevators, one from the basement to the reception on the 7th floor and the other one to the actual rooms. The room had everything we needed and was clean - we would come back. Breakfast was OK.

Great location right in the middle of town with lots of shops and restaurants nearby. Staff speaks good english and I was able to extend my stay from 1 to 3 nights without any problems. Because it is located on top of a shopping mall it is very quiet at night. Great value for money. What I liked as well, that if you say you don't need your room cleaned every day, you still automatically get new towels and fresh water without having to ask for it, that's a nice touch.

Not much to complain about, maybe the included breakfast is more designed for asian tastes

The location is great! It happens to be located at the commercial center where sit many malls, shops and food. Bathroom is a little bit small but fine for myself. They would ask you if you need daily room cleaning else they would bring new towels just to your door only. Great place to be alone in general. Remember to ask for the TAX refund!

The hotel is clean and located right in the heart of the city, and close to the subway. The area feels quite safe, and I was comfortable getting back alone in the evening. Laundry room is available for a small fee and one of the receptionists was very kind in helping me out to use it.

Some of the staff didn't speak any English and was communicating through Google Translate, which I find inappropriate for an international hotel. Also, when checking in I asked a couple of questions about the tax refund, and I was answered with "I have no idea". There are better ways to express that concept. I think the customer service level might be improved, but it really depended on the person on shift. Some of them were really nice and helpful. I also got a call on my first morning at 8 AM while I was sound asleep, just to let me know clean towels would be left by the door. They could have told me during check-in, rather than waking me up for such a small thing.

It was good size room, comfortable and clean. Wifi worked well. Breakfast is a buffet with many choices. Lots of restaurants and shops in the area.

The atmosphere of the hotel isn't especially friendly. It's not that the staff aren't kind or anything, but the main floor is designed a bit like a hospital with very white walls and floors. They don't have a comfortable lounge area or a cafe, which makes it feel a bit stark--it's very much "check in, go to your room, stay, check out". I won't stay here again because of the atmosphere. It's not a bad hotel, it's just not my kind of place.

We are huge fans of the Toyoko Inn chain. The hotel in Daegu had everything we expected: the rooms are spotlessly clean and well thought-through to make the stay as comfortable as possible for each traveller (high bed under which you can store luggage, desk, mini-fridge, water kettle, free shampoo, conditioner and body wash, clothes line in the bathroom to dry clothes, etc.). The bathrooms are typically Japanese and super efficient. The breakfast is a delicious mix of Asian and Western options and organized efficiently. The Daegu hotel even exceeded our expectations: the rooms were huge! And some came with nice views. We also loved the location right in the middle of the shopping district with lots of restaurants and cafés nearby. There is a 7 Eleven convenience store on the ground floor of the hotel. We would definitely return, because this hotel is such good value for money.

The check-in took a bit long, as we arrived before the check-in time to leave our suitcases. When we returned at the right time, we were asked to fill out all the forms again.

I didn’t have high expectations for the breakfast since it’s complimentary for all guests, but it was surprisingly good and offered a well-balanced mix of local dishes and classic hotel buffet options.

I wasn’t aware that additional amenities, such as skincare products, were available until I noticed another customer requesting them at the front desk. It would be helpful to include this information on the information sheet or mention it during check-in, if possible. Thank you!

The small room was more than made up for by the cleanliness, the range of amenities, and the warmth of the staff. The hotel’s proximity to dining, coffee spots, and public transport made it an ideal base for exploring the city. With additional perks like free buffet breakfast, it was a place where comfort and convenience were prioritized. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a practical yet pleasant stay in a well-connected and vibrant area.

Staff on arrival was not welcoming and manner indifferent. Arrived 10 min early and still couldn’t check-in. I Find this practice puts guests in a negative feeling from the beginning of stay. I liked Daegu much more than expected short walk to metro station. Bed was a big hard.
