I liked the central location. Breakfast was very good with many choices. All the staff were friendly and helpful. We got the two bedroom apartment which was located in an adjoining building which also had several apartments where local residents lived so you definitely had that "locals vibe" and authentic.

Unfortunately there were a few glitches. The electronic door key kept failing so I'd have to walk back to the front desk in the main building to have them reset the card. Also, the elevator stopped working and we were on the 5th floor and I have difficulty walking because of a failed knee replacement. The stairs were almost undoable for me.

In over 20 years of international travel, Hotel Lis would be the best 3 star hotel we have ever stayed in BY FAR because: the rooms are sunny, lookout onto a park, and have recently been refurbished: Katarina and Andrea are incredibly attentive hosts, who every morning hover over the fantastic breakfast service (beware the allure of their freshly baked cakes) to ensure your needs and desires are being met: the housekeeping staff do a detailed clean every day, when they also replenished our fruit/chocolate basket: there is free street parking outside the front door: the rooms are really quiet. This family run Hotel and its staff just makes you feel so at home and welcome. Its a long way from New Zealand, but next year we are going to return - and for longer than this trips 7 day stay. And I should mention the very tasty bottle of local red wine that was waiting for us in our room.

With my dodgy back, a less comfortable bed, as the firmness of an ironing board works best for me.

I absolutely loved my stay at Hotel Lis! The owners are amazing and make you feel like part of the family. The room was large, modern, and incredibly clean. Breakfast was a highlight, everything homemade, from fresh breads and cakes to delicious fruit and veggie juices. Every detail felt thoughtful, and the owners were so helpful with local tips and recommendations. Truly a warm, special place. I can’t wait to come back!

I wish I could stay longer

Staff friendly at check-in, recommended an excellent pizza restaurant. The gift of a bottle of local wine and a basket of fruit in the room was a lovely welcome. Room very comfortable and well equipped - two places to put bags, unlike most. Excellent choice at breakfast, all very good quality. Easy walking distance to main sights. We will definitely stay here next time we come to Asti.

Our breakfast table was cleared when we were part-way through and went to the buffet to get some more food. Staff were very apologetic and gave us some local biscuits when we left. When paying by credit card it was charged in £ without checking with us, we would have preferred it to be charged in euros (they did offer to credit/recharge us, but we were in a hurry to leave).

From the outside, Hotel Lis is an anonymous modern hotel, in a good location close to the centre. However, what makes it truly wonderful is the staff who were the most welcoming, courteous and helpful people you could hope to meet. They not only recommended good restaurants with the kind of food we wanted but phoned around to find out who had a table free and reserved it for us. They have a wonderful breakfast buffet with equally friendly and helpful staff. We managed to park our motorbikes right in front of the hotel which was perfect. We would not hesitate to stay here again when in Asti.

My wife and I loved absolutely everything about this hotel. For a very reasonable cost, we had an immaculately clean room, complete with complementary wine and fruit. A fantastic breakfast with such a choice that we didn't know where to begin. A family run hotel. The owners clearly care for their guests. The service is superb, and we shall definitely return next year on our way to Italy and on our way back home.

There is nothing we didn't like about this wonderful hotel.

Breakfast - Outstanding: variety, freshness, hygiene (everything covered & protected). Service - Friendly, family run, but very professional and helpful. Room - Very well laid out & spotlessly clean, with ample desk, storage & nice view of park opposite. Shower room - Also spotless and well equipped (we loved the shower door).

The very friendly and professional staff made us feel very welcome. The room was perfect with tea/coffee facilities and a complimentary bottle of wine and fruit basket. Breakfast was spectacular, the variety of cold, cooked and pastries was amazing and delicious.

Can't complain about it, rates more than 3 stars in my estimation.

Excellent location within easy walking distance of the historic city centre of Asti, yet easy to reach by car with free parking. Complimentary bottle of local wine and a large fruit basket in the room. Extensive breakfast buffet with various pies, cheeses and sausages - much more choice than you typically get in a hotel this size, and it was all delicious.

I would have preferred a larger room with a seating area, but the hotel does not seem to offer this possibility. As it is, the room is comfortable though, and priced accordingly to its size. Tap water in the room was not really cold, only tepid or warm.

It was great to stay in this hotel where are willing to go the extra mile for their guests. Rooms are small but have been renovated in a very smart way to provide a perfectly comfortable space. Spacious bathroom and pet-friendly. Breakfast gets 10/10. Parking is available. Few minutes walk to Asti's lively historic and commercial center. Pet friendly. Very good value for money.
