The location was good. Staff were excellent - especially Nil from front office (hope I got the name right!). Nil was very welcoming and made sure the check-in process was done perfectly. Gave information about local area and communicated very well regarding all facilities. The room although small was well equipped with essentials. The aesthetic light outside the window was too bright, but was switched off later at night. Could not sleep early with the curtains open due to this (had to catch an early flight). The concierge who showed the room was good and helpful.

The size of the room was small but that is not a major problem as it always depends on building/structural design. Perfect for one night stays. Restaurant staff needs more training on how to behave around guests. They were communicating very loudly with each other. It was not pleasant. A smile goes a long way! Did not notice when I left the restaurant after meals even though I was the only guest there. A big contrast from front office staff.

Loved the welcome, the staff, the location, the food, the staff again, the rooms were comfortable and the bathroom was 5 star. Nothing was too much trouble at any time of the day. The front desk was always manned and everyone cared. My elderly parents were really looked after. Location is perfect and easy to get a rick shaw. Law Gardens is 10 in walk from the hotel. Shopping is good and food is good too. This hotel exceeded my expectations by miles. I was blown away with the professionalism, friendly staff and cleanliness was outstanding. The bathroom was fantastic, new and the shower was so powerful it felt like i was having a massage everyday!!! Do not forget to use the rooftop seating area. Its beautiful and you forget where you are We even got to meet the owners and give direct feedback. I will be recommending this hotel to everyone travelling to Ahmedabad

Ok so room sizes could be issue if you travel with lots of luggage but we just moved the chairs in the room to make the extra room. Its not a deal breaker The fridge in my parents room was concealed in the cupboard, but came in handy for drying our clothes

It’s def deserves the 5*, a boutique hotel on Mithalkali circle, right bang in the centre of the city. Great stay from the warm welcome on arrival, simple easy check in, very well designed hotel and rooms. Has a great rooftop terrace and a sensational restaurant called Spiceville. Special mention to the front desk team who were, are, very friendly and helpful.

A few observations are in the very minor detail. Locks and handles on washroom doors are cheap and broken, and in my room I had the constant sound of neighbours drainage and flush, walls behind my headboard must of been paper thin.

It is the friendly and welcoming staff in this hotel that I would like to recommend most highly. I was very pleased with the cleanliness of the room. It offers a wide variety of delicious menu items for everyone to choose from.

You might be a little sensitive to noise like me, so I'd like to point out that these rooms aren't soundproof.

Amazing stay at Hotel Nalanda for our 1 night trip to Ahmedabad. Staff were very helpful and attentive and we were able to check in early which was much appreciated after our overnight train. I also had some post delivered to this hotel, which was ready and waiting for me upon arrival. The hotel offered great value for money with a great breakfast selection included in the price. The staff were the stand out factor and couldn't do enough for you! Room was a good size and the shower was great temperature and pressure. Bed was a good size and very comfy. Would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Ahmedabad.

I thought everything was excellent for the standard of hotel, I have no complaints. I arrived late due to a delayed flight from Indore and was given tea in my room. One day I tripped on the front step, thankfully with no major damage, and the staff were most attentive. The breakfast spread was good but I didn't have any other meals. Great shower. I would have no hesitation recommending this hotel.

This comment doesn't really fall under the heading of 'didn't like' but a box of tissues in the room would have been useful. I note other reviewers have commented on the room size. Certainly the rooms are a bit small but it was perfect for me as a solo traveller.

Extraordinary clean place. The rooms are spacious, the bed is comfortable, there is a safe and even a small fridge in the room. Especially, the food is super good!!! The location is safe, walkable to the metro station and uber and auto-rickshaw worked perfectly. I stayed for six nights and I am a female solo traveller. The hotel felt like a luxury treat.

The only small thing they could improve is the wifi quality. Zoom meetings were a bit challenging due to unstable connectivity. But for any other internet usage it was perfectly fine.

From the opening if the door to the check in deak. Everyone was absolutely wonderful and made sure everything in my room was satisfying. This is my home away from very happy and wonderful hotel with the Spiceville restaurant staff was as equally as attentive. From the foods to the view. I will make sure, if they take me back, this will be my permanent hotel for future bookings. Incredible value for business or for family. I love this hotel the staff all of them made it a home like feeling.. I am blessed to be surrounded with amazing staff.🙏

Absolutely nothing...

Staff were so friendly, polite helpful and efficient. I was given complimentary masala tea and buscuits on arrival. Shower was hot immediately, air con and fan were in great working order. Comfy bed and pillows gave me a lovely sleep. Western breakfast flakes, assortmemt of fruit, toast, orange juice, and lots to.choose from for Indian breakfast. Masala tea and buscuits also available. Dual aspect view from room. I had a very relaxing time.

The only thing was wifi was a bit slow and often lagging and 2pm check in time

We were travelling on a vacation and during our visit we stayed at multiple hotels including a 7 night stay at Radisson Blu, a 2 nights stay at Four Points Sheraton and then 7 nights at Hotel Nalanda. Among all of them we found Hotel Nalanda's staff very friendly and accommodating. The hotel rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. Daily breakfast had a nice spread of healthy and tasteful choices - our daughters loved the breakfast. The breakfast wait staff was very friendly and their hospitality was unmatchable to the other hotels we stayed at - they called us every morning around 10AM to remind us that the breakfast closes at 10:30AM!! The hotel also provided a small but useful gym area which I personally loved. There is also an onsite 24 hours restaurant called Spiceville - we ate there multiple times and the food was fresh and delicious; our older daughter ordered their Chicken Dum Biryani once and she said it was the best she has had so far! Overall, our stay was pleasant and we will definitely consider this hidden gem located in the heart of the city for our next trip to Ahmedabad.
