Such a beautiful property and beautifully maintained. Breakfast was excellent, spa was terrific, and terrace and outside splash pool a nice place to hang out (it is more of a large whirlpool than a pool; don't expect to swim). We were in a 2-room suite with pocket doors, spacious enough to have friends over! Really good air-conditioning, which is essential in Salso. But most of all, the staff was terrific. Any way they could help, they would help. Special shout out to Tommaso and Martina, and also to the lovely bartender, whose name I didn't get, but who was so welcoming. A grand experience!!! Definitely 5-star.

We were in the back building, which was nice and quiet, but they really need to put in a separate entrance. It got really tiring having to walk all the way around and through.

Grand Hotel Salsomaggiore is an incredible place—set in an equally incredible town. The location is perfect: a short stroll through the park to a cluster of excellent restaurants. Don’t forget to book the SPA in advance; access is limited, which keeps it uncrowded and relaxing. The spa itself isn’t large, but it has everything you need: cold plunge/ice, hot pools, a hammam, two saunas, and a tropical shower. Hotel managers and the front desk team are outstanding—proactive, kind, and ready to solve any problem. Breakfast is superb. If you don’t see something on the buffet, just ask—they’ll happily prepare what’s missing or make the drink you’re craving.

Really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It’s a great spot, and having on-site parking was a big plus. The room was spacious and comfortable, and we were pleasantly surprised by the size of the spa area – plenty of space to relax and unwind.

There was no electric vehicle charging available, which would have been helpful. Some areas of the hotel, especially the hallways, could use more thorough cleaning. And while breakfast was decent, it didn’t quite meet the standards of a 5-star hotel – more of a 3-star experience in that regard. With a few improvements, this place could be much better.

Stunning building with beautiful public spaces.Very friendly and welcoming staff.And a very well equipped Spa.

When we checked in we had no clothes hangers,I rang reception and it was resolved,however this is a 5* hotel and I would normally expect these in the room regardless of how many stars they have.There is also a sun terrace with some nice rattan furniture but no conshions which is also a smoking area and in the 5 days we were there they were not emptied.

Lovely hotel! The spa is great and especially luxurious - with thermal pools, various saunas, a salt room and more. Every day you get an hour and a half stay in the spa and it is very pampering, clean and pleasant. The room is wonderful, big, spacious, comfortable and clean. The location is excellent - right in the center of the charming city, convenient and close to food and central locations. A pampering and charming hotel!

It was very challenging to park around the hotel. On the day of his arrival we arrived a little late and there was no parking around, we had to park far away and for a fee. The staff tries to help, but the parking situation in the area is not alarming The breakfast is average - not bad but also not worth mentioning

This hotel is just perfect, this is the second time I stay. The staff is so nice the spa very relaxing, fantastic location. Beautiful clean room just the building itself is stunning. Loved the sunny swiming pool area and bar with delicious food and drinks. Cleaning staff and bar staff were particularly very nice and accomodating. Thank you so much! I highly recommend this hotel for couples of even in solo travel just to relax and meditate.

Wonderful spa, with thermal pool, salt water pool, 2 saunas, steam room, large jacuzzi and relaxation area. Small pool on the 2nd floor roof with sun loungers. Breakfast was very good. Chocolate croissants were really good. We would stay again.

There could have been more storage space for clothes.

A wonderful Art Deco stop over in the centre of a beautiful town. There is a relaxing spa, great after a day on the road, the most comfortable and quiet hotel rooms I have ever stayed in. Breakfast was good, with the staff kindly making us some gf bruschetta, which was really appreciated.

Dinner was on the terrace next to the pool this time rather than in the dining room as last time, which was a little uncomfortable, as I'm not keen on eating where there are other cavorting in skimpy swim wear!

We had stayed a few nights before and we left some of our luggage with the hotel to save us having to travel with it. When we returned and checked in our luggage had already been placed in our room for us. We were given a warm welcome upon our return.

Everything went well, and the stay was great. Friendly staff and great facilities, in particular the spa.

If I really must find something, it would be that the poolside restaurant closed a bit early for lunch, and that the breakfast was a bit boring. Correct, but a little bland
