We were greeted by Sarah, a charming bubbly host who offered us the opportunity to upgrade our room (free) should we be willing to take the suite up an extra flight of stairs. However, before making a decision she brought us cold water and a refreshing beer to help cool us down on a very hot sunny day. Nothing appeared to be too much trouble for her to ensure our stay was comfortable. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for an eclectic but comfortable stay in a quiet location.

I don't have any negative comments on Le Chaton Rouge.

Great hosts who were very hospitable. We only stayed here 1 night but it was a lovely calm oasis with fantastic home-made food. The house is beautiful, very tastefully done throughout. A lovely green outdoor space to relax in. We would highly recommend.

Sarah was the ideal host, extremely welcoming and friendly. Very comfortable accommodation and an excellent breakfast. We liked it so much that we will make a point of revisiting next time we’re in that part of France.

Bed very comfortable. Room clean. Well equipped for any needs. Food was nice. Hosts were friendly. Nothing to fault really.

If I had to pick something (although it didn't particularly bother us), it would be traffic noise.

Very friendly hosts made us feel at home from the start. Lovely food. The garden is a lovely place to relax and the surrounding countryside is perfect for pre and post dinner walks. Don’t step on the hedgehogs if going at dusk!

Great location; within comfortable driving distance to ferry ports. There is ample on street parking and from the moment you enter, the characterful property, you are made to feel most welcome by your hosts. Our accommodation was generous; with a lounge / kitchen area, in addition to separate bedroom & bathroom. From our welcome drinks, our delicious dinner, to our generous breakfast, the owner's shared their enthusiasm for homemade, homegrown and locally sourced ingredients. All delicious!

The village itself doesn't seem to have a lot going on but in truth, we had all we needed in the property including a nice private garden / patio area, with a small pool!

• The host couple are very attentive and try everything to make you feel well. • Perfect for English speaking travellers; breakfast is British inspired too, but not everybody might be fond of that ;-) • Free parking just across the street

Not very soundproof, however the hosts promised that the windows will be made soundproof during the coming summer. Also, traffic on the nearby street is very low during the night.

Breakfast was marvellous, even fresh figs picked for us by owner. Dinner served in beautiful dining room. Host very attentive without being intrusive

Everything was great

This was a perfect stay for a solo traveller as the offer of an evening meal was a real bonus and the food was excellent. Lovely welcome after a long drive.
