Room was comfortable with a big bed and enough pillows. Bathroom was clean and everything had a 50s feel to it. Walmart and Target close by if one needs to get groceries or travel supplies. Each room has an assigned parking space and the lobby has a space for eating. Nice place overall. Would definitely stay here again.

I'm a very picky traveler and yet - I liked everything about this place. Manager and desk agent were super friendly and helpful, volunteering suggestions for a newcomer to Bozeman. Room details were perfectly retro, but new not old. The facilities are scrupulously clean. New bathroom tiles and fixtures of good quality, not the usual cheap stuff. Good coffee and fresh milk available in the dining area off the lobby. Much quieter than I expected given their proximity to the main road. And all this for an entirely reasonable price. I'd definitely stay here again.
Not a single complaint.

I arrived after regular check-in hours, but the after hours check-in lockbox was simple and easy to use, which meant I could get straight in after an extremely long day of travel (definitely needed, and a great system!). Through my stay I was blown away by the vibe of the motel, which whilst very retro and charming was still clean and had all the modern amenities you'd need. It's situated in a great part of Bozeman, with town just a 10/15 min walk away, and plenty to eat / order from nearby. The motel felt safe and secure, and the staff were extremely helpful and kind, helping with recommendations and any queries I had throughout my stay. I wouldn't hesitate to book again, thank you Sapphire!
Honestly, there's not much I would change. If anything, it would be great to have a cafe or restaurant on site, however as mentioned in my review above there is plenty in town to choose from or order to your room if you wish.

We loved our stay at the Sapphire Motel in Bozeman. We were looking for a place to unwind and rest after a tiring week in Grand Tetons and Yellowstone, and Sapphire Motel was perfect. It is very thoughtfully refurbished, clean, and oozes with character. The staff are kind and very friendly, and it had great amenities like a coffee area, laundry room, and ice machine. The rooms are full of character, the tv is modern, and the bathroom big and clean. It is also very conveniently located just a 15 min walk from the Bozeman downtown area. Bed was very comfortable.
Only complaint is the train noise - Montana has this weird requirement for trains to blow their horn as they pass through town even in the middle of the night. It is also a motel so the windows will face (1) the car park and (2) a public street so keep blinds shut for privacy. Installing one way glass may be a good way to improve privacy. Prices are a bit steep but typical of Bozeman.

We were warmly welcomed as soon as we arrived by the lovely woman at reception (sorry we didn't catch your name!). Loved the delicious complementary huckleberry lemonade - perfect for a hot summer's day. The room was extremely clean, beds were comfy, AC worked great. We were excited to be staying in a revamped motel, and Sapphire Motel totally met our expectations - such cute, kitsch decor! We also appreciated the great food and activity recommendations. It's about a 15min easy stroll to the main 'attractions' on Main St.
Beds, and the room in general, were on the small side, especially for 4 adults, but nothing we couldn't manage! Only other suggestion would be a door into the bathroom/changing room area so it could be used without disturbing those sleeping.

What's not to like? We stay at the Sapphire whenever we come through Bozeman and love it. The staff, rooms, and proximity to downtown Bozeman are all fantastic and given that we used to live in Bozeman, it's really wonderful to stay at a historic, family-owned motel walking distance to all the things we want to do downtown. All the period furniture and ice buckets/glasses are great touches and the staff is incredible, helpful and kind. Rooms are very quiet, even given how close they are to downtown and being right on north 7th. I cannot recommend the Sapphire Motel highly enough!
Honestly, we loved everything. I wish they allowed pets because we are helping some family move in July and they have pets, meaning we have to stay somewhere else, but I totally understand (the cleaning can be a nightmare). Otherwise, perfection.

We love the Sapphire! We used to live in Bozeman and we stay at the Sapphire whenever we drive through Bozeman to or from visiting family. The location is perfect and walking distance to downtown, the rooms are spotless, beds are very comfortable and there are cool touches in every room (vintage ice buckets and glasses, etc.). Super affordable as well, a rarity in Bozeman anymore. Fantastic staff, very helpful and communicative. We recommend the Sapphire to everyone we know going through Bozeman. We once got stranded by a blizzard in Wyoming and we were able to extend our stay on a day-to-day basis. I honestly don't know how they could have been more helpful.
No pets allowed, so we can't stay there next month when we help our daughter move to Colorado. Otherwise amazing!

The Lobby was really cool. I loved that they had time period pieces, but modern and clean feel. They offered coffee, tea, coco with filtered water which was greatly appreciated. Cute and sharable book library. The room and shower were comfortable and clean with plenty of space . My son had fun trying out the rotary phone to call the front desk with questions. My kids enjoyed the swings and open space too. Thank you for a Relaxing and Enjoyable stay. Keep up the great hospitality!
The AC could use updated. The wall unit seemed dated.

This is my second stay at the Sapphire. And not my last. The folks at the front desk are asking the friendliest motel folks I have met (and I have met a lot of them). Wonderful folks. The room was immaculate I have stayed at major five-start hotels that were no better. The room looked as if it were built yesterday and it is ready to be inspected by the governor. Best parking facilities I have ever seen in a motel. You can actually open the driver's door with no worry about dinging the car in the adjacent slot the theme is from the mid-20th century, except for the TV, which is modern flat-screen (but a 50s-style television in the lobby). The last time I had seen a rotary-style phone was literally in a museum, but there it was sitting on the desk in the room--complete with dial tone Pillows... This is the only hotel/motel that understands pillows. Decorative pillows are for, well, decoration and not sleeping. The Sapphire had them, but also enough sleeping pillows to be comfortable with one out two sleeping pillows. Attention to detail. Apparent throughout. I really like this place.
They listened to Tom Bodett and left the lights on for me. I have a "thing" about turning unnecessary lights off. But that is just me. YMMV.
