Pictures do not do this place justice. It is absolutely beautiful, peaceful and cosy, exactly what I needed. Ruth, Angie and Jaymo at the front desk and security were so welcoming and such a delight. Effie the manager was super friendly and helpful, she helped me with her power bank when the lights had gone out for a bit. Thanks Effie! The food was absolutely delicious and I looked forward to my meals - special thanks to Kash, Saumu and the chefs. Michael made me the best cocktails as well, special shout out to him. Maggie from the Spa was absolutely incredible. I had a full body massage and a full body srub and I loved it! The housekeeping staff were amazing thank you Pauline, Elvina and Emily for keeping my room fresh. The staff made this place feel like home for me and I can't wait to go back.

The rooms!!!! The food!!! The service!!! Good size of pool. The whole team was great, but Cash was exceptionally kind and took great care of us. They communicated on time and were kind enough to let us check in ahead of time, as we arrive too early. For the price, these rooms were by far better than most 4 star hotels I have been to. The designer of this space put thought on how the different locations connect, and it worked out well. We really had a fun time, we wish we had more meals there as we had so much to explore, but we're definitely going back for a more relaxed stay.

If you want to disconnect this is the place to go. Excellent weather and a relaxing holiday. African hospitality at its best. The hotel is very quiet. Wonderful, accommodating staff. Perfect match between resort and nature. Large tropical garden. The pool and bar are excellent. Nice, clean rooms. Fine Lebanese restaurant with oriental music. We had a great time and took some inspiring yoga classes. The hotel can arrange a taxi or tuk-tuk to the places of interest (Uber does not work). If there is anything you need, somebody will find it for you.

We had to request a room change on arrival as our first room had mold and smelled stuffy. We were lucky that another room was available and it was much nicer. Malindi beach, 15 minutes from the hotel, was covered in seaweed. For a better coastal experience, it's best to make the 30-minute drive to the spectacular Watamu coast or to take a boat trip to the islands. It is well worth a visit and can be organized by the hotel. It would be great if the hotel restaurant offered more European cuisine / more diverse Mediterranean cuisine. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and we will undoubtedly be going back again!

The stuff really made our stay memorable. They were very sweet and kind, friendly, ready to help us in anyway and understanding. They treated us really nicely. Saffron is beautiful and provides a serene ambience to chill. The room was kept clean always. We especially enjoyed the swing bed and sofa on the patio where it was tranquil and gave a view of the greenery around. The food was amazing and we had a variety to choose from seeing that one of us was vegeterian. Saffron is also near places we wanted to go check out like the Falconry, Malindi Museum, Vasco da Gama Pillar and Portuguese chapel. We generally loved Saffron.

The beach might have been 850m away but not accessible. That came in as a disappointed coz the nearness to a beach mattered for us.

It is in a convenient centrally located area surrounded by many private villas. There is available transportation outside the main gate five minutes away from shopping and some wonderful restaurants.

Because of the lush vegetation surrounding the area there tends to be a mosquito problem nothing more than some effective natural mosquito repellent that is sold in many of the markets and also available at the hotel will take care of.

Saffron is an amazing place from the warm welcome from effie the happy ever smiling lady to the general cleaniliness of the place let alone the welcoming drink you get before you checkin .talk about the rooms franco you truly doing agood job in maintaining the cleanliness .and yes the ambience is amazing . Something i loved about their breakfast is not the usual swahili concept adapted by so many swahili resturants they are unique .now when you go to saffron make sure you taste cocktails from kevo the barman …oh boy the balance is amazing and also he is good at what he does .i must say i had an amazing time it was short but worth it ..keep up the amazing job i will be back soon.oh and that shower gel boy it so aromatic refreshing and calming .

We spent two delightful days at this charming hotel in Malindi, conveniently located near the town and local restaurants. This was my second stay at Saffron—once with my parents and again with a friend—and I can confidently say it was perfect both times. Despite the property being under new management, there’s no need for concern. Special thanks to Kelvin, Bridget, Daisy, and the housekeeping team, who were always kind, smiling, and eager to assist. Effy, who manages the property, was outstanding and ensured everyone was well taken care of throughout our stay. They all deserve a bonus for their hard work! Breakfast was decent, the bar had reasonable prices, and the rooms were new, clean, and complemented by the lush green surroundings. Check-in and check-out were smooth. Overall, a big thumbs up!

The hotel would benefit from adding a second pool near the new bar. The existing pool, located at the entrance, is quite small and is also used by families with children.

This hotel is a true paradise, offering a tranquil atmosphere and the most incredible staff I've ever encountered. I was upgraded to an exceptionally clean and beautiful room, which felt out of this world. It's the best place to stay in Malindi, offering both safety and serenity. My experience was fantastic; I can't think of anything negative to say. I loved the peacefulness, especially compared to other tourist-heavy spots. The hotel is affordable, and the food is delicious, with an amazing breakfast.

The Saffron Garden is a very lovely beautiful place with a lot of beautiful nature & trees. The staff is the most friendly staff we already met in Kenia. Really lovely people. The rooms are superclean, beautifully decorated and comfortable, there is also a very nice pool and the deep tissue massage was very relaxing. The food is delicious. If you need a place to stay in Malindi, be sure to stay with Kash, Effi and all their colleagues. The Saffron Garden: it's such a nice place to stay.

We really enjoyed the tranquility of the place. As soon as you enter the gates of Saffron, you feel like you are entering a portal of peace and calmness. It is a very family-friendly place. The rooms were clean and spacious. Staff friendly and attentive. There was a nice cultural program with live music and a fashion show during our stay.

Perhaps a pool could be cleaner - There are quite a lot of bugs floating around. The breakfast buffet could be improved by adding a veggie platter.
