We stayed at Al Campanario for two nights. We know the house from previous trips to Competa but this was the first time we saw what Willy and Annemie had achieved. The house is full of character and retains many of its original features, in particular the antique floor tiles that were present throughout the house. The house is situated just round the corner from the main square in Competa and is handy for the local restaurants and the 16th Century church. Our room was very clean and spacious, with plenty of natural light. The bathroom was also very clean and well equipped. The bed was huge and comfortable and we were able to have a good night's sleep. Breakfast was very enjoyable and varied. We particularly liked Annemie's homemade cakes and biscuits. We enjoyed meeting the other guests at breakfast and chatting with our hosts about the local landmarks and activities. They were very friendly and went out of their way to make our stay as pleasant as possible. We would recommend Al Campanario without hesitation.

Great location in Competa. A convenient place to park our car. Charming old home and interesting architectural style.

I didn’t like the lack of toilet privacy. Exposed to the sleeping area and not ventilated in any way. I didn’t like that we could not share a bottle of wine in our room that we brought along. We were there during a DANA storm event and power was lost for hours. In a building with a tricky winding uneven stairs it would have been good if the owner had given us a flashlight to see our way around. Quite unsafe.

Excellent value for money. Lovely old building that is beautifully renovated. Even though we booked the small room, there is plenty of space for 2 people, and still includes ensuite shower, toilet, and sink which are all clean and function well. Great location to walk the town. Friendly host, who sends information before you arrive.

We were lucky to get parking right outside the property. If not available, free parking is located 250m downhill (steep walk uphill). However you can still drop bags off then park.

Ee had a wonderful stay at this place! The host was incredibly kind and welcoming, going above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. On the last day of the year, despite the bad weather, the host patiently waited for us and ensured everything went smoothly. Their warmth and hospitality truly made the experience special. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a memorable stay!

We loved the wonderfully fresh-smelling bed linen and towels, the spotless cleanliness, the warm and friendly atmosphere, and the delicious breakfasts. The location was also great, with Spanish specialty restaurants nearby.

There was nothing we didn’t like – everything was perfect.

The breakfast was delicious, more than we could ask for. Bed was really comfortable and wide enough. Everything was clean and the owner was there at all times giving advice on places where to go. Couldn’t ask for better. We admired the style of the rooms and especially those wonderful staircases.😊

Beautifuly restored house with two teraces. Clean premises,good quality linen. Super tasty breakfast with freshly squeezed orange juice. Friendly owners. Allowed us to leave begs early on the day if arrival and accomodated earlier breakfast on the day of departure. Good wifi.Very happy with our stay.

Its not a fault of owners, that neighbours delivery guys start their activities 7 am and on cobblestones streets its noisy.

The property was beautiful, well laid out and clean. It was very quiet and comfortable we had an amazing sleep. The owners were amazing and even helped us in the Pharmacy next door as my wife needed help with ear ache. The breakfast was great, the property was great and the location was perfect.

Great Location, like 50 steps away from the main square, the host was super friendly, the suite was exceptionally clean, the interior tasteful an the bed one of the most comfortable ones I have ever slept in and the breakfast was made with love and plenty, I literally loved everything about this stay and I'll be coming back soon!

Prime location: a few steps from the only main square in Competa, and yet very silent. Superb two-tiered roof terraces. Delightful attention to detail in the renovation of this 100+ year old house: original locks, tiling, windows& doors were kept and rooms smartly and discretely redesigned to suit modern standards (wet areas & heating). The owners obviously wished to share their dream of a loving happy place to live. Prices are very decent given the quality. Ideal for solos, couples and families. I shall return.
