The guest accommodation area was beautifully done! Loved the guest lounge areas - particularly the one upstairs with views over the Flinders Ranges. Lots of really nice little touches eg interesting books in the lounges and the decor in the lounges. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. Excellent sized fridge. Great to have a lounge and table with chairs. Dinner and breakfast in the restaurant were both generous meals and very delicious! Great to have a cooked breakfast included in the accommodation. All staff we encountered in all areas of the hotel were fantastic!

We stayed 2 nights in the executive suite and our room was beautiful, with a wonderful bathroom. So much comfort in the outback. The photos did not do the accommodation justice. The staff were attentive, friendly and genuinely delightful. As a vegetarian the food was awesome with great choices. Location amongst some of the most beautiful country in Australia We loved this place so much we will come back to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Not one complaint.

Breakfast was excellent. I prefer non toasted muesli.
The dinners were excellent, but both my partner and I found the sauces rather too rich - they caused some indigestion during the night. Some more vegetarian options would be appreciated. Re the bedrooms and general lounge areas: More fresh air via windows that could open would be good. We found the mounted animal trophies/taxidermy displays unpleasant and inappropriate. I doubt that the Prairie Hotel is promoted as a hunting lodge. The meaning or appropriateness of these stuffed animals (even if feral animals) "adorning" the walls is the major thing I would recommend that the Prairie Hotel considers/reconsiders.

This is a little oasis in the desert So incredibly well done Decor food ambience all fantastic In addition youre surrounded by art when you dine, and fab coffee table books in the foyer re the area were fascinating Make it there for sunset & a drink on the front verandah. We had a regular hotel room and it was above expectations. Plenty of room for two people and well appointed Thankyou for a lovely overnight experience!

Beautiful recently decorated rooms. Great decor though out whole complex. Restaurant menu way beyond expectations for property location, as was the actual food. Full compliments to the chef & his brigade. Bar Manager & Restaurant Manager both were very friendly, professional, and made the whole experience 10/10. Thank you Mani & Becky.
It’s sad I know, but no televisions in room so be prepared.

The hotel is very comfortable and great facilities for the outback. While the food was of a good proportion I felt the mains were too big and I would have preferred more variety and guidance with tne menu. I expected more for the high price, for example a small afternoon tea as we arrived around 2 pm. I t would be good if at least a glass of wine was included in the half board with dinner. Breakfast had some choice however it wasn't exceptional again for the price.

The location was amazing out in the Flinders Ranges. The hotel was far above my expectations. The hotel was unique to be in the outback of Australia. Ellie, the manager, was very welcoming & friendly. You could see that Ellie is very proud of her business & rightly deserved. The staff were friendly & the food was great. Even the feral mixed grill & emu paté was lovely. There are self drives from the hotel or you can just relax & do nothing. It certainly is an experience to be have.
That we didn't stay another night. I'm disappointed that I didn't find out more information about the hotel & the area from the owners. Another reason to visit again😊.

IHad read & heard a lot about the Prairie Hotel for its food & ambience ; both were excellent as was the welcome & friendliness of all staff. The only limitation is that there is 'nothing' other than the hotel in Parachilna . which meant I had to drive to Leigh Creek to get petrol , perhaps visitors need to be pre-warned about this & to ensure the fuel up before getting to the hotel - perhaps more experienced Flinders travellers than I would know this
That there was no 'entertainment' available - no TV, so the nights after dinner were long. I would hope that management might consider a paid Tv service for guests , even in a common area, not necessarily individual rooms

Fabulous unusual place half sunk in to ground for thermal efficiency. Spacious room. Very comfy bed and good shower. Stayed 2 nights. Excellent base for exploring west side of Flinders Ranges. Good breakfast included. Superb a la carte dinner both notes. You must try their local full flavoured beer.

Lovely little hotel in the middle of nowhere. Recently renovated with all modern facilities. Gorgeous bathroom and nice room. Very friendly and attentive staff members. Dinner and breakfast was included: delicious and copious! A true outback experience.
Poor sound proofing in room. At low occupancy it would be preferable to spread the guest more around and leave an empty room in between for better peace and quiet.
