We loved this little motel. Has a lovely nostalgic atmosphere with chairs and a little table outside to enjoy your coffee in the morning and the evening. Beds were so comfortable! We used the laundromat across the street as well. Down about a block was a beautiful park to walk our dog. But the beds!!! The beds the beds the beds. Glorious after being in the car all day.
The only thing was the windows can’t be opened. We discussed that with the proprietor and they explained there was an issue with getting screens for their new windows, but they hope to address that next year. The a/c worked perfectly well though.

while looking for hotels I thought I narrowed it down and was going to stay somewhere else until I saw reviews that said even though it was updated the beds were not comfortable so the search continued. I saw a review about comfortable beds at Abajo and decided to pay the extra $15 and take a chance on that. Boy was that a great idea! The beds were comfortable, the room was nice and clean, the front desk was friendly and concerned that everything was ok in the rooms, the lobby had coffees/teas/cookies, the rooms also had coffee machine/microwave/fridge which was helpful as I travel with my own food. Exceeded expectations for the cost. I travel through frequently but usually stay in Blanding and this hotel beats any hotel I've stayed at in Blanding.
Walls are a bit thin but not the worst I've had at a hotel. If you're near a heavy walker or partiers you'd likely be up later than you'd like. Luckily my neighbors were considerate enough for a relaxing night.

We had been travelling all day and were planning on staying in Albuquerque. Last minute we decided to continue on toward Salt Lake City. We did not arrive at the location until 3:30 am. I had to call to have them check me in. They were extremely gracious in spite of the late hour. The room was very comfortable and clean. They had the heat going so the room was warm and inviting. It is a motel so we were able to park just outside the room making it convenient for us. We did not stay long (only about 4-5 hours) but due to the great rate, it was still a perfect value.
It was cold outside!!! We would stay there again.

Monticello is a very small town, and yet the room was the nicest we'd had on our whole trip! It has changed hands recently and they did an EXCELLENT job of remodeling. The room was huge, including a sofa, coffee table, and several chairs. The beds were very comfortable and even tho it is on the main street we had no noise in our room. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. We were super impressed, and would stay here again if we were going to Mesa Verde or the Grand Canyon or anywhere else in the area. SOOOOO much better than Durango and its crazy traffic!
The TV channel selection is pretty slim, but there's not much they can do about that since Monticello is so isolated. The nice room more than made up for it.

Clint, the owner, is exceptionally kind and obliging. We were planning to visit Arches National Park and he pointed out the need to book a time slot online, suggested an itinerary, and was generally obliging. The premises is immaculately kept with little touches one would expect from a $250 a night hotel. The rooms are large and well equipped. This is the best motel we have stayed in during our trip to the US.
The fridge could have been quieter. Just nitpicking.

Needed a cheap place just to sleep on our way to our vacation in texas. This place was super affordable. The mattresses and bedding were clean and very comfortable. Room temperatures were comfortable upon arrival and overall it was just a satisfying room.
While there is 24 hr check-in, the front desk worker isn't in the office so you have to call and wait a few minutes if you check in late. Not to big of an issues as he was prompt. The exterior door to one of the two rooms we rented was damaged and hard to keep shut and open. A bit of a safety issue for sure. There was no breakfast but I knew this upon booking and for the price that was expected.

From the check in which was very positive and with a gift of cookies to the clean, attractive, well-organized room, it was a pleasant process. It is all on one floor too which is definitely a plus for all of us but especially anyone with a disability.
I don't know that there is anything that can be done about it, but parking is a bit of a problem if you want to be parked in front of your room. There just isn't enough room for that.

Nice staff, beautiful remodeled room, clean
The room was very cold when we arrived ( it was very cold outside too). The wall heater was not on and so we turned it on and cranked it up to 80. When we went to bed a couple hours later it was still cold and the sheets were still freezing. Woke up in the night and the heater had finally caught up with the cold and it was then super hot:) I sound like Goldilocks but otherwise it was a great place to stay

The rooms were spacious, the beds super comfortable. The rooms clean. Friendly staff. Has an ice machine on site.
It had a few flicks & flaws. The shower when turned on especially toward hot made a screeching noise. The water hot pressure could have been warmer. My husband who likes Luke-warm showers he even said it could have been warmer. The air conditioner although it worked- it did not seem to stay on all the time. I think it may need some small repair to it.

Friendly staff! King suite was absolutely wonderful and for a great price! The bed was amazing and the linens and comforter were so comfy and clean! The room was clean and was wonderfully pleasant. Not your typical hotel/motel - far better and possibly the best room I’ve stayed in! And I’ve stayed in many many many hotels and motels.
