Staying at Amulet Hotel was an essential and unforgettable part of our journey. Sleeping in a beautifully converted madrasah, this hotel offers a unique experience that is hard to find elsewhere. The beauty and charm of Amulet Hotel are immediately apparent. The entire team goes above and beyond to make your stay special. The Uzbek breakfast served here deserves a special mention for its exceptional quality and variety. Located just a 10-minute walk from the center of Bukhara, the hotel’s location is as convenient as it is charming. The hotel itself is extraordinary, differing vastly from any other hotel we’ve known. The rooms, arranged around a courtyard in this ancient madrasah, are small but equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The decor is tasteful and adds to the overall experience. The breakfast is spectacular, and the staff's attention to detail is exquisite. It's just a step away from the main square, placing you right in the heart of the city.

Truly my favorite hotel ever. A former mosque/madrassa smartly and tastefully converted into a fabulous small hotel, with every amenity you might want in an exquisite setting. Due to my schedule, I stayed in three different rooms, each perfectly decorated in its own way. Superb location, and a breakfast that must be seen to be believed. Plus the absolute best part of this hotel is Akmal, the manager, who went above and beyond in his kind and caring way to help in myriad ways. He is a treasure within a treasure. Thank you for everything, Akmal!

⸻ Staying at Hotel Amulet was an unforgettable experience! This charming boutique hotel, located in a beautifully restored former madrasa, perfectly combines authentic Uzbek atmosphere with comfort and style. The rooms are cozy, clean, and full of character, and the breakfast is always fresh and delicious. What truly makes this place special is the wonderful staff — kind, welcoming, and always ready to help with a smile. Their warmth and hospitality make you feel at home from the very first moment. Hotel Amulet is more than just a place to stay — it’s a place you carry in your heart. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience the real spirit of Uzbekistan!

I had a great stay here. It’s basically on the doorstep of several monuments like Chor Minor and Lyabi Haus and surroundings. The rest is walking distance as well. I really enjoyed strolling around Bukhara centre from the accommodation but it might not be for everyone. The host is an easy-going friendly man who is happy to accommodate wherever possible. I arrived an hour or so before the check in time but they kindly allowed me to enjoy a coffee in the court yard and prepared my room as quickly as they could. He was always willing to help and communication was always pleasant. I had a single room which was adequate for me. The shower and bathroom were clean and good water. The court yard is a relaxing space where you can enjoy the delicious generous breakfast or a quiet drink. If you want something more unique than a typical hotel, then I highly recommend Amulet.

The following are not complaints but more things to be aware of. The building is old. I believe a converted madrasa and this means tiny door ways, and close neighbours. It’s also in a part of town undergoing renovations and plenty of development. It can be dusty and we were without power for some time. Though neither really inconvenienced me significantly. Maybe just be prepared to consider it to have ‘rustic charm’, which to me, made it all the more interesting and worth staying there.

It is an experience on itself. It is really a XIX century madrasa, so it is very especial. It is also quite cozy. Breakfast was excellent.

It is true that it is an experience on itself, but also true that due to this fact you might not have all the confort you wish. The tv didn't work in our room, they said someone would fix that up the next day, but it never happened. The first day a cleaning lady entered the room without knocking, the second day no one came so our room was undone. On another note, the guy in the reception made an unsolicited comment on my body that I disliked very much. Still giving it a 9 because the experience was great. But if you are looking for confort, maybe this is not the best alternative.

The hotel, located in the historic part of town near the main road, has an old-school charm that feels like you're sleeping through history. It's very well-maintained and spotlessly clean. The room's decor is lovely, and the staff—especially Mr. Akmal—were incredibly friendly and supportive. He helped us with our luggage, offered us tea, and treated us to some delicious local sweets, which really made our day. The breakfast was thoughtfully planned and varied each day. Our room was cleaned daily with fresh towels. The hotel is within walking distance of the major landmarks, and there’s Amulet restaurant nearby serving excellent, well-priced food, with a 10% discount for hotel guests. Overall, we loved staying here more than at the other two places we visited in Uzbekistan and would definitely recommend it.

We liked everything about this property. The location was fantastic - we were able to walk to so many historic sites, restaurants and very safe of course. The building/architecture was beautiful, historic, and very well-maintained. Management was very easy to work with, incredibly helpful and coordinated an amazing private tour with a local tour guide - I highly recommend! Breakfast was fantastic - probably the best we had during our week touring Uzbekistan. Our 2nd floor room was well appointed and comfortable. Great air conditioning. TIP: The stairway to the second floor was not a problem for us, but it is steep. Request a first floor room to avoid the stairs, if needed. Stayed June 17-19, 2024

We recently stayed 2 nights at the Amulet Hotel and has a very memorable experience. The location is 10-15 minute walking distance to most of the Old Town Bukhara sights, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and breakfast was excellent (especially the porridge/oatmeal). Special mention to Akmal who provided professional attention to all our needs throughout our stay and also to Nosa who gave us an informative and interesting walking tour of the Old Town. We would strongly recommend this hotel to other tourists.

No major negative items - everything went very smoothly.

The hotel was the highlight during my trip in Uzbekistan! Located close to the old city centre, everywhere is in walking distance (including ATMs, restaurants, parks, small shops, and the best somsa I've ever tasted in Uzbekistan!). The staff are also superb and attentive. Love the breakfast and welcome tea, so generous. Also, love the fact it was an old madrasa building. Would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone who will visit Bukhara.

Cash only for the payment. If you don't bring any cash, there are ATMs nearby.

We had a wonderful stay at the Amulet hotel. The communication before our arrival was very easy and a late check-in at midnight wasn’t a problem at all. We were immediately blown away by the calmness and beauty of the ancient madrasa. You can tell the effort of the owner by admiring the stunning interior design at this place (the wooden beds, colorful carpets, wall decorations, …) The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom extremely clean (looking newly renovated). Since we stayed in late September, we didn’t need the a/c (witch worked nonetheless), since the stone walls kept the room quite cool. Although the hotel is located on a main street, you are not able to tell, upon entering the courtyard through the stunning wooden door. The staff is very attentive but discreet. We enjoyed our daily tea time in the afternoon at the traditional seating areas, were you can read or take a short nap. If you are looking for a place with a historic past to relax and recharge, within a walking distance from all the cultural and culinary spots, search no further. A truly exceptional experience. 10/10 would recommend!
