I highly recommend this hotel. The location is excellent: easy walks to all major (local) amenities, near subway stations and easy to hail cabs. The room was 'as advertised' and commensurate with the price for this location. Bathroom had all toiletries required and great water pressure in the shower. Wifi good. Bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in, including my own bed! Outside smoking area easy to access and well maintained. Amazing staff: very helpful and friendly. I would definitely stay here again.

TV didn't work so well, but I barely needed to watch it, so a very minor issue.

Amazing long-ish stay at Chelsea Pines Inn. I will definitely stay there again whenever I’m in NYC. Location is excellent, almost unbeatable: metro at the doorstop (and it is the one that goes directly to JFK), two blocks away from the river,great near neighborhoods for food and cool shops.. The staff is very friendly and attentive. There is complimentary coffee during the morning and a nice shared kitchen and patio. The single room is quite small, but nothing that bothers a solo traveler.

The daily housekeeping is not great: they basically change your towels, take the trash out and do your bed. They do not actually clean your apartment… but it works.

Very welcoming staff who provided helpful and clear instructions. Check in and check out was a breeze The facilities not only looked clean but smelled clean the entire stay. The location was perfect. Close to subway and food. I requested to stay within the first three floors since the building is a 5 floor walk up. This request was honored for a small fee. The back patio area was smoker friendly and beautiful at dusk. They had board games! My wife and I really enjoyed playing.

The room was FREEZING. We requested an extra blanket from the front desk clerk and when she arrived even she couldn’t stop herself from immediately commenting on how cold the room was. The heat was on high but the windows were just bleeding cold air on the coldest day of the year. The only comfortable temperature area was on the bed under the blankets. Would have been a 10 experience if room 205 wasn’t an icebox

Room was a little hot, and I don't think we could easily control heat. Second bed ( not used for sleep) didn't have box spring or board so mattress sagged significantly. I understand communicating all the fees and rules in advance, but it gave the false impression that the staff was going to be looking for rules issues or reasons to assess additional fees. Maybe a lighter tone in those pre-stay emails would be better?

The location of the hotel is excellent. It's a stone's throw from the High line, Whitney Museum and the West Village, our favorite area in NYC. The staff was very kind and welcoming. We loved the old movie star theme with vintage movie posters.

The room was quite narrow so a little hard to walk around the bed. There also was no temperature control in the room. We were comfortable, but if we had been hot or cold there wasn't a way to adjust the heat. There is a window air conditioner. I expected our total cost to be less than $400 for one night given that the hotel has less amenities.

The Inn was so clean and wonderfully decorated. It felt super safe since you have to use your key card or ring the bell to get in. The room was so clean and comfortable. There are only stairs, so be strong or just have a carry-on like me. :) It is an older establishment so I thought I was going to be able to hear everyone all night because of thin walls or gaps in my door (not unsafe at all) but I didn't hear anyone all night!! I've stayed in very nice hotels where I hear everything the people around me are doing. The room was decorated with old movie memorabilia. Mine had two beds a small desk, nightstand, bathroom and a TV. The shower is small, so if you are very wide you may have some trouble fitting in it. The staff was super friendly and communicative. I knew all of the "rules/requirements" before setting foot on the property. The bed was super comfortable and the air-condition worked very well. It really felt like I got a taste of a true NYC experience staying there. Minus any pests haha. I saw NONE! Lastly, the location. A 2 minute walk to CVS, several places to eat and my favorite thing was being so close to the subway entrance. Highly recommend if you are exploring the city.

The highlight is the staff! super friendly and always willing to help. The apartment we stayed in was a good option. It offered a sense of privacy, which was important to us. The space was spacious, allowing us to move around without feeling cramped. Natural light flooded the rooms. As for the beds, they were comfortable and provided a good night's sleep after a long day of exploring. Overall, we were pleased with the apartment and would consider staying there again in the future.

The furniture, while in good condition, appeared outdated, which affected the overall aesthetic. Additionally, having only one bathroom proved to be a minor inconvenience, especially during peak times. Despite the spacious kitchen, which boasted a great layout and oven, we found the appliances to be somewhat limited. Many basic amenities that one would expect in a rental property were missing, which made meal preparation a bit challenging. Overall, while the apartment offered some desirable features, the outdated furniture and limited amenities were notable drawbacks.

The location of this hotel is perfect for seeing NYC. The subway station is a very short distance and the subway is a fabulous way to travel. The decor is funky

with very little effort the outside back patio area could be wonderful - busted pots, untrimmed shrubs, unkept ivy currently around patio area

Very spacious, with plenty of storage for a really comfortable stay. Fantastic location to explore all of the local sights and attractions

The only thing I would say would have improved our experience would be if we had come coffee/tea and milk sachets in the room with there being a fully equipped kitchen/coffee machine/kettle. We were up so early each morning due to time difference in London. A morning coffee would have been great, and this wasn’t on offer upstairs until 7am.
