My stay at Samanvay in Udupi was excellent. The hotel is centrally located, with Shri Krishna Mutt just a short walk away and Malpe Beach only 7 km from the property—making it a convenient base for exploring the area. What truly stood out was the breakfast. It was absolutely sumptuous, featuring a delightful variety of local Udupi cuisine that was both nutritious and flavorful, rich in fiber and protein. The staff were incredibly humble and courteous throughout our stay. A special mention goes to Mr. Satish, who warmly served a variety of dosas each morning with a smile. His hospitality added a personal touch to the experience. The hotel and its staff genuinely reflect the rich culture and hospitality of Udupi. Thank you for making our stay so memorable—we can’t wait to visit again!

One area that could use improvement is the in-house dining service. The menu had limited options, and several dishes were often unavailable, which was a bit disappointing. It would be great to see more traditional local cuisine featured, especially Udupi-style meals and specialty dishes. Additionally, having facilities like a gym or swimming pool would be a wonderful addition, especially considering the warm weather in Udupi. That said, everything else about the stay was just perfect!

On arrival we were greeted by very attentive staff and shown to our very large lovely rooms, located adjacent as requested. It was a bonus to discover a yoga room on the corridor, well stocked with clean mats. At breakfast we were personally attended to by the manager who introduced us to a number of local delicacies including the Watermelon Dosa, which we would have never discovered without him. Every time we went out, the staff swiftly organised an auto rickshaw (fun and economical mode of transport) to collect us at the door. Being English and Irish ourselves (and not physically impaired) we were neither expecting or accustomed to this high level of service. Thanks to all the hotel management and staff for their genuine care, kindness, good humour and for going above and beyond to curate a most memorable stay.

Hotel is clean and well maintained. Food is good only if you love south indian vegetarian food. Rooms are spacious. They have MTR hotel in the premises which is good.

It is Located on the main road connecting manipal and udupi. It is far from MIT(8kms). In case your booking this hotel and want to travel manipal you need to have own vehicle.Food options are less. Bathroom has only head shower option there is no hand shower which was inconvenient and number of shower caps provided where only one.

Very clean, very modern, very comfortable. Everything seemed to have been well thought out. The bed and bedding were super comfortable. Quiet efficient air conditioning. Great shower. On the edge of town; about a 10 minute walk to the centre. Interesting, delicious choices for breakfast. The complementary afternoon tea was a nice touch. We have been touring India for 6 weeks and this is our favourite hotel so far.

There was a noisy wedding party staying the first night, who were drunk and obnoxious. Not the hotel’s fault though.

The experience was fabulous, very courteous and helpful staff, very well appointed and spacious rooms, the breakfast spread (Satvik vegetarian food) was exceptional and tasty. The MTR restaurant just in front of the hotel has amazing vegetarian South Indian food.

The housekeeping staff came to clean the room at 5 pm, after we had returned from our day's activities, which was a bit inconvenient. This should have been completed earlier in the day when the guests are out.

This property is centrally located in Udupi town, yet away from the din of the town. The property uses some of the top of the pile fixtures and furnishing in the room. The quality of the toiletries is also good. Breakfast spread is varied and is a matter of curiosity every day.

The hotel has two dining facilities. Both are franchised to restaurant chains - MTR and Paakashala respectively. It is a matter of inconvenience for the guests to settle their bills each time they have food at the places. Posting to the room would have been more convenient.

Absolutely great hotel. It's perfect in every sense. Breakfast is superb, it is prepared and served with love. We had the most comfortable stay on our coastal Karnataka ride. There is a basement covered and secure parking to keep the beauties(bikes) safe while we rest. It's close to highway and all the tourist spots are reachable. Will stay here every time we visit Udupi

Absolutely nothing to mention.

Very new, very nice hotel. Nicely decorated and very stylish. The room was spacious and comfortable. The staff were very welcoming, accommodating and friendly. Willing to assist with any request. The breakfast was very good and the afternoon tea/snack service was a nice touch.

I did have a smell coming from the drain in my bathroom.

The hotel is located quite close to the market and shopping area but far away as for it not to be a nuisance.. the rooms itself are very spacious and clean... The breakfast had a amazing spread of the local delicacies.. which we loved and is rare.. so overall amazing experience

There was a confusion regarding the room service.. we had booked two rooms .. one was told there is limited room service.. the other room was given a 8 page menu card... So that remains a mystery....

The location of Samanvay was perfect! Close to a park, as well as the major destinations at Udupi, it made a pleasant stay. The rooms are comfortable, the breakfast impeccable and tge staff are always smiling and helping you with anything. Also, the price that you pay is absolutely value for money.
