The staff at the business center is polite but not genuinely friendly (aloof), but I will attribute that to their incomplete dominion of the english language. Also, I had left something in the room but the housekeeping department was slow to react and didn't seem too interested in solving my problem. When I finally complained with the reservations department, the problem was solved. At an earlier stay, the staff was much more friendly and service oriented. Despite all that, I am still satisfied.

The breakfast buffet in the Riverside Cafe was excellent with a good choice of food. We had dinner on one night in the Riverside - the buffet dinner was absolutely excellent. We used the bar for drinks, and for afternoon tea. We also played cards while enjoying a drink in the bar. Our rooms had nice views. The beds were comfortable and the rooms well serviced with clean towels etc. The shower had good pressure and good hot water. All staff very friendly and helpful.

No major dislikes although the night blind in my room was not working properly but that was not a big issue. As mentioned the rooms were clean and comfortable.

Located in the scenic Shamian Island at the heart of Guangzhou old town - former concessions given to France and the UK, hence surrounded by nineteenth century European-style buildings, the neighbourhood is great for a walk and even better at night after everything is lit up (but it's sometimes crowded with people taking photos during daytime). The hotel itself is state of the art too with top class in-house restaurants. Dined at Jade River and had yum cha (morning tea in local Cantonese) at Hongtu Hall, both of which were exceptional.

The elevator hall on the ground floor was sometimes overcrowded as people coming in for dining, or just random passers-by would need to walk through there to get to the lobby. Rather lack of privacy for hotel residents for such a top level hotel.

When we checked into the room we noticed there is no walk in shower but instead have to climb into the long bath to shower. We are both elders and concern about the risk of falling stepping in & out of the long bath. We brought up the concern at the front office, the manager Mr Brandon and Mr Yeh so kindly upgraded us to a room with separate shower. They not only do that but also made arrangement to fall proof the bathroom with a non-slip floor mat & a shower chair. We are so appreciative of their kind assistance to the elders. This hotel is awesome, fantastic staff and very nice food, we tried all their restaurants. It will be nice if they have a tour desk at the hotel. Definitely will return to stay here again. Every staff member of the hotel and it's restaurants is helpful and genuinely happy to serve.

absolutely stunning place to stay and lovely area surrounding the hotel too for walks, convenience store and restaurants. we had a river view room for 4 nights to attend canton fair. highlight was the boat/ferry ride to canton fair and back each day…buffet breakfast on board in the morning and we took our own drinks on board on the way back. service is amazing and another highlight was the bath/shower that overlooked the river and the automatic blinds and curtains for a solid night’s sleep on a comfortable bed. not the crazy hard beds you often get in china.

once you’re there everything is very expensive (restaurants,room service, laundry,drinks etc). we countered this by going to the rose garden restaurant next door to the hotel (very yummy food too), buying our drinks before getting on the boat and bringing our own coffee and plunger. the coffee in china is expensive and very average! but if you don’t have a budget and your works paying for it then this won’t matter to you haha.

The staffs in the hotel are super nice and considerable. I went there with little Kids and my elderly parents. They all been well looked after. They even prepared a birthday cake for my father. What a surprise for all of us! The facility in the hotel is over 5 star especially the swimming pool. What a haven for little kids. There even got waterfall for the kids play pool. And we tried 2 Michelin star restaurants in the hotel. They both super good. We really enjoyed our stay here. Many thanks to the reception staffs and managers. We definitely will come back in the future.

Everything is arranged in an orderly manner - from check in to check out. staff were very friendly, helpful and work efficiently. we got upgraded to a huge room with spectacular views of the city. Had extraordinary dining experience in our one night staying, we had lunch, evening drinks, all were high quality. the morning tea with exquisite handmade dian xin is a must try. We'll staying White Swan Hotel on our next visit for sure.

Everything! The hotel has been renovated recentrly and is visible. The hotel looks new, modern but still with the tradional touch (and also kept the original design). Room was nice, clean and spacious. I liked the controls for pretty much everything. Only note, the charging plugs were in the drawer, a bit unusual. Pool was super nice Restaurants are top quality

Not much. Peculiar the choice to put the charging plugs in the bedside drawer. The window might blind was malfunctioning a bit, but not compromising the good sleep

We paid to upgrade our room to Deluxe Twin room, it was comfortable, spacious , a stylish room with wood panels and natural colors. Mr. Frankie kindly brought us to the room to make sure that we're happy with our choice of room upgrade. The Jade River and Hongtu Hall restaurants offer delicious dim sum and exquisite cantonese cuisine. Also, we felt special and delightful as we're greeted by the master chef from Jade River restaurant and he offered a complimentary fruit platter to us. Staffs at concierge were very helpful in giving information to go around the nearby areas, assisted us to make booking of online musuem tickets and train tickets. The location on historic Shamian island is truly an oasis of tranquility amid the hustle n bustle of the city.

The world class service from all the staff made my experience very comfortable. Everyone I encountered was attentive to my needs and was welcoming. When there was a miscommunication with our booking, the staff made us feel cared for as we tried to sort it out. The view from our room was also beautiful. My mom and I stayed in a city view room and every morning we witnessed a beautiful sunrise illuminating the city and harbor. It was also quiet enough to stroll around the historic buildings and gardens in the morning.

There are a lot of tourists who aren’t hotel guests who come visit the hotel too during the day and evening so it can be quite noisy. There is no ability to crack open a window even a little bit so sometimes the room was very stuffy.
