This was my second time staying at Motel Mediteran. It seems like a family owned and run place, so you get that feel when you check in. Priya at the front desk remembered me from the last time I stayed, so it was nice to see her again. If you have a vehicle, this is a great location, very close to the 15 freeway. Plenty of free parking. Short drive to grocery stores, and restaurants. The motel upgraded the rooms since I visited in 2023, so the room was nice. Our room was by the fountain and gazebo, which was actually very pleasant, and the room position was very good. I used the laundry this time, which was clean and super convenient. My family stayed in the 1 bedroom that had a kitchenette, which was nice because we could cook during our long stay. This room was quiet in general. Heaters worked well in December chill. Bedding and linens are always white and clean. Housekeeping staff is always around to replenish when needed, and they are kind and professional. Will return again when in San Diego.

I love this place and would stay again. The only suggestions I have for improvements is the room could use a little more storage for clothes and things. The kitchenette was great, but we didn't find any pots, pans, dishes, etc, Fortunately we had our own. Other than that, our stay was good.

When we wanted to leave, we discovered we had left our headlights on and drained the car battery. Instead of calling AAA, we notified the front desk who contacted someone who showed up in 5 min with a jumper kit and set us on our way in no time! Very quick and easy fix, super convenient and friendly! The room itself was clean and neat and exactly what we needed. Especially at this price. This was our second time staying here, it worked out just as perfectly as the first visit.

Others will mention the construction next door - it didn't bother us very much at all.

the room/suite was huge, complete with enclosed balcony that featured a full kitchen. Meticulously clean! the room even included an indoor jacuzzi that was awesome! Definitely would recommend and also stay here again. Office staff was extremely nice and friendly. This hotel is the perfect example of why you shouldn't judge a book by its cover!! VERY HAPPY WE ENDED UP THERE! THANK YOU!!

literally my only complaint is we couldn't find the ice machine and weren't sure if there was an on-site vending machine but to be fair..... we couldn't have just called the office to ask, it just wasn't that important to us at the time. kind wished they had more parking but that being said, we were able to find parking it was just the last spot is all. not really a big deal either

We were very happy to have a room on the ground level and appreciated having grab bars in the shower. The room was very clean and appealing. The bed was comfortable and there was very little traffic noise. We got a good nights' sleep here. Hot coffee and tea were available in the office after 7am. It was a nice touch to have charging ports beside the bed.

The in-room air conditioner was a bit noisy. Luckily it was not hot at night, and we were able to turn it off while we slept.

The property was very clean and so relaxing! The staff as friendly and available to any request. I enjoyed the coffee at the front desk and the sounds of the water from the fountain (charming). Quaint sitting area and even a place to do laundry! The parking was available and had no problems finding a spot. The room was exceptional and very clean! The beds were SO comfortable We had a wonderful time! Me and my family highly recommend this Motel. It is worth it! Thank you again Pria for being for accommodating and friendly!

I cannot say one bad thing. This a pleasant surprise to find such a gem in San Diego CA! We will return and stay here upon our return! Keep up the great work, you guys have earned it!

The staff was very accommodating after the first room issues. The second room was perfect. Hot water was plentiful. Beds were super comfortable, not to soft but not to hard. Nice to have a refrigerator and microwave. Very fair and reasonable rates.This is my second time here and will always stay here when visiting Escondido. Close to everything.

The curtains are wooden shutters. The bedding was very minimal for winter temperatures. An extra blanket in the closet would be super beneficial.

The staff were amazing and every one of them treated me with respect, courteously and made me feel like I mattered. They resolved several requests over my two week stay without any reservation or issue. The rooms were great I just wish the floors might be a little cleaner but everything else sparkled. I will stay here again when I'm in town.

We liked the overall cleanliness, beds were comfortable, overall quiet from neighbors, hot water pressure was good and lasted, parking was convenient, location was great, conveniences of refrigerators, and staff was kind and welcoming.

The air conditioning was really loud, and construction next door started pretty early, no bathtub stopper in regular bathroom, and we could of used extra linens/ towels, however, we never asked since it was one night. However, if we had stayed longer I’m sure we would of, and no privacy curtain for large jacuzzi bath area,

I have stayed at this motel several times, and the new upgrades make a difference. My only wish is that their beds were a bit more firm for my taste. The staff are friendly and the space was adequate.

I smelled marijuana emanating from another room which I did not appreciate. I understand California allows for people to use it, but I did not like having to smell it during my stay.

Incredible value for the price. We stayed in the room with the jacuzzi and it was relaxing and exactly what we needed.

It's vaguely rough around the edges in little insignificant ways. And since the bookings are run from a 3rd party, it makes refunds impossible, so make sure you are committed to what you book.
