We absolutely loved our stay at this wonderful resort for first-timers in Fiji. It certainly exceeded our expectations with staff hospitality, the wonderful amenities, the food, and resort daily activities.

I didn't like the fact I had to eventually leave and return to my soul sucking job!!

This resort was so nice. We stayed in a bungalow room which had a shared bathroom, and it was so comfortable, clean and lovely. The food is amazing! They have a great range of daily activities you can choose from, but I was equally happy just lounging by the beach with a book. I would also recommend this place for families with teenagers, there was a lot to keep them occupied and happy

Just make sure you factor in the cost of meal package and boat transfers when booking, those costs are not included if you book on this website. They are worth it though, the food was amazing!

Very nice quite resort, authentic Fiji, accommodation in little villa, shower is outside with plants around, no problem with nice hot water, no problem with insects, each villa has window screens and each bed screen net, ac in the room worked fine, bed itself was ok for this type of accommodation, tea kettle in the room, fridge. No stores around, they bringing supplies every day by the boat to the restaurant. Meal plan is mandatory- no other choice as nothing else is around:) Small property with swimming pool, restaurant, some local night activities singing, games Can do snorkeling right of the beach, can go fishing, hiking. Very relaxing atmosphere can walk around in your swimming suite and bare feet every all day long

We liked all, three days probably enough if you are not planning to eat, drink, sleep, swim repeat longer.

- The food is beyond exceptional, there wasn’t single meal that we had that wasn’t amazing. Everything from curry’s, stir fry’s to roast dinners every dish was delicious the kitchen team are outstanding - Jodie the scuba instructor was brilliant, she was knowledgable and infinitely patient, reassuring us every step of the way. We had a really good time doing the ‘discover scuba’ trip - We stayed in a bungalow which was much more spacious than the accommodation we stayed in on the other islands and more importantly had air conditioning

- after booking we hadn’t realised that there is an additional payment (Approx 130 Fijian dollars per day per person) for ‘mandatory meal plans’ however this seems to be prevalent in every resort in Fiji. And with the quality of the food it was money well spent

We had a wonderful experience at the Octopus Resort. We especially loved the amazing food, the twice daily yoga classes, the beautiful beach and the staff/management was top-notch. Each resort in the Yasawa island chain offers something unique and/or special. In my opinion, what makes the Octopus stand out is the exceptional dining experience. Every meal we had was beautifully presented and delicious…whether it be breakfast, lunch or dinner. We stayed two nights in a Bure and two nights in the dorm. We slept well all four nights. We are not scuba divers, but heard from many guests who raved about awesome professionalism of the dive staff and the variety of local dive sites. We arrived as guests, but went home as family. What a wonderful experience!

The snorkelling was amazing. Rooms were comfortable and showers were hot and clean.

There was no atmosphere and the island bar area was very quiet and boring in comparison to other islands we have visited. Staff were not as friendly or happy.

The food was excellent and the staff are so friendly. There is no culture more peaceful and happy than the Fijians. The beds were very comfortable. The massages at the spa were top notch. The ladies running the spa were so professional.

We stayed for 7 nights in a garden bungalow. There was a ceiling fan but it is so hot and humid until midnight that it is difficult to sleep. The reef in front of the resort has seen some decline. There were fish present but the coral is in rough shape compared to some premium sites. The access to snorkelling is a narrow channel that can be tricky to get through since the current is strong. Also the bay in front of the resort is exposed and can have rough waves when there is a wind blowing.

The resort is on beautiful Waya Island at the South end of the Yasawas. A shuttle transfer picked us up in Nadi and took us to the port where the resort boat was waiting. The trip out took one hour and we were transported to white sandy beaches and turquoise waters

You opt in to the compulsory meal plan, which makes the trip significantly more expensive. The meals were delicious and there was a lot of choice on the a la carte menu at breakfast, lunch and dinner. It’s totally understandable why the resort does this but you do end up eating a lot more food than you need (especially in such heat).

This absolutely ticked all our Yasawa dreams. Compact, beachfront, stunning reef literally steps away from our bure. Friendly staff and a good range of activities to keep us occupied when we weren’t swinging from our hammock under a coconut tree. Highly recommend the beachfront bure. And the fishing trip with Asava. And the village visit.

Sadly we had a couple of days of big swell which meant the reef was closed to snorkelling, boat based activities were shut down and our planned mountain hike was cancelled. Just bad luck, and while I was happy to swing in my hammock, it would have been amazing if some alternative activities were available for the teens. An organised Volleyball match and crab racing was a highlight.
