An older stately hotel that kept all its charm, location, cuisine and thoughtful hospitality. The walls and decor shows it has existed in Yanagawa for a long time but that time has been spent honing the experience. The kaiseki dinner was brilliant using regional ingredients especially eel. We were surprised to be served Hitsumabushi given the price. Buffet breakfast has an extensive spread with signs indicating the origin such as the soy sauce brewer or the rice grower. You can find them in gift shops around town. The hotel also arranges river cruises. The back of the hotel faces the river with a boat ramp just a stone throw from the lobby. The boatman that the hotel arranged actually waited for us at the lobby. He had a wonderful singing voice. He could yodel Yanagawa classics and anime songs while we cruised down the waterways. The rooms were spacious and Wifi was fast. The hotel has so much parking too and very close to tourist sites in Yanagawa. Just walk along the river. If you book for private onsen, you get both the indoor amd outdoor pools too. Could not praise Kamenoi enough for such a wonderful experience. I d rate it 11/10 if I could. Would definitely stay again if visiting Yanagawa.

The facilities were clean and room was spacious. Onsen was great. Meals were delicious. Staff very friendly and helpful.

It was too cold to use the outdoor onsen. It would’ve been helpful to wash somewhere warmer then go into the onsen. Same for the private bath in the room. It was great once you got into the bath but washing up ahead of it was very chilly since it was outdoors. Maybe a shield in the colder weather might help. Also more English in the signage would’ve helped.

Great location, 5 mn walk from the major sights. Easy parking. Vast, very comfortable room with all amenities you expect, and superb views over the famous canals and boatmen. The onsen has excellent quality of water, leaving your skin incredibly smooth. Breakfast buffet is fine.

Nothing. Some would mind not having a bath or shower inside the room, but onsen is close by on 6th floor The hotel has a slightly dated look from the outside, but it is really comfortable and excellent value for the price.

A good small hotel located close to the famous Yanagawa river cruise services and major restaurants. Our stay was very relaxing though the interior of the hotel was quite dated and requires renovation. Services provided by the staffs were excellent as you would expect from Japanese hospitality.

No private shower in the room we stayed

We loved Yanagawa. Beautiful place. And, the stay at Kamenoi Yanagawa was absolutely fantastic. One shouldn't miss the boat trip and nice walks along the river. We were also lucky to participate in the Sagemon Meguri. Thanks to the friendly and helpful team.

Very clean and spacious room. Nice location with a walking path behind the hotel that goes to a cute area of town. Onsen on first (outdoor) and top floor (indoor with big window view).

Walls were a bit thin so we heard people in the hallway. Didn’t seem to be much to do in the area but maybe it’s off-season.

Very nice hotel in the center. Very nice onsen and view on the river. Breakfast is good. Just a bit older, but very authentic. A place you dont want to leave. Thanks
