The property was easy to find and there was a free carpark across the road. The room was certainly in the Japanese style and the view of the garden quite lovely.

While truly appreciating the classic Japanese design, I wouldn’t say the room is comfortable. The beds are futons (which I was aware of) but there was no comfortable seating area to relax. There were a couple of wooden chairs to look over the garden. Understandably, they don’t want you dragging your luggage across the tatami flooring but the wooden floor area close to the door was small. It was sufficient for one night and good to experience.

This hotel is three star rated but I feel like they deserve to have more. Staff are friendly and the location is close to the canal and restaurants so we had a night walk after dinner. The Japanese style room is spacious, nice and clean with a beautiful private Japanese garden view. The free parking lot is on the other side of the road, and the Japanese style breakfast is exceptional too. I highly recommend and will stay in this hotel again if I come back for another visit.

I loved how they put my name in the welcoming sign at the entrance! I was so surprised by that. The staff are helpful and friendly, and I'm grateful that they accommodated my check-out time (I was late by 15 minutes). I didn't get a chance to try the onsen, but with how beautiful everything else was, I'm sure they did amazing in that aspect as well.

As someone who doesn't drive, I had to walk 15 minutes from the station. Not fun when it's raining or late at night! But the garden view was kind of worth it. The streets are so empty and bright during the day.

The property looks like it been recently renovated which is such a good surprise. Everything looks new with a giant flat-screen TV. The room might look a little narrow but still can fit 4 beds. There is an onsen in the hotel which was very nice and being a Ryokan, the price was very reasonable. Our booking also included breakfast - a japanese breakfast.

Location was great. Our stay was during the autumn Hakushu festival which celebrates the famous Japanese poet and the boat tour passes by the canal behind the hotel carpark, so we were able to watch the performance, as well as saw some locals set off sparklers to celebrate.

The toilet had a urine smell which didn't go away throughout our stay.

We love this hotel very much. The room is big with a nice view of the Japanese garden.The rooms and facility look very new and well maintained. The breakfast is Japanese style, served as an individual set. It's located very near the city center where the river boat boarding jetty is.

Great location. Close to everything. Supermarket is just a 3 minutes drive away. Big spacious room. Very helpful and friendly staff.

The public bath is small.

Ms Juko was very friendly and speaking good English easy to communicate! She also recommended the nearby delicious unagi.

The traditional setting, the view of the garden from the window, the furniture, the traditional clothes, the small onsen, the peace...

We would have loved to spend more time there!!!
