The lodge had been heated ready for our late arrival which is a great bonus at this time of year when it’s still so cold out. The fridge/freezer had all been switched on too , all appliance’s were clean and for once a nice sized scouring pad in the kitchen with good quality tea towel and better washing up liquid . Good brand dish washer tablets and shower and soap bars , well done on that score.

I personally thought the bed a little too soft but other would love this so it’s a personal preference but pillows were right. The sofa also I felt was too soft for the older person but again nothing that a removable fold out wooden support under the cushion seats wouldn’t cure.

The location and quiet set up nestled behind a castle in a quiet valley. The lodges are clean, warm and quiet. They are very dog friendly and have easy clean wood floors. All facilities included , kitchenware, dishwasher and even washing machine with a separate shower and large corner bath. The bar is cosy and prices are acceptable for a holiday location. We will come again and recommend the location to friends.

We went away for a short break with our dogs over new year weekend. I was required to do some remote work but unfortunately the WiFi at the lodges is not good. It was slow and very hit and miss, dropping out and reconnecting. That's if you could get it to connect. The staff were aware and stated it is all due for an upgrade soon. There is also no 5G or mobile phone coverage here either. My wife and I are on 2 major mobile networks and neither had phone or 5G reception, so it's something to consider for the park and customers. The double bed was very hard... And whenever either of us turned over it creaked and squeaked. This woke us both up separately during the nights sleep.

The lodge is lovely, super cleaned, the cleanest place I have ever been. The area is beautiful, surrounded by forest and with an amazing seaviews. The swimming pool great for chlidren and very warm. The bar/restaurant ok (I wouldn't recommend the squid). Very quiet place, nobody had loud music, we never heard any neighbours and the place was full with lots of families. Very polite and friendly staff as well as other guests. The location is great to visit Ilfracombe, Woolacombe, Bideford (great shopping). Horse riding stables Mullacott around the corner from the Lodge (good prices), there is a zoo too but we didn't visit it and the castle is great for children too. Great with dogs too.

Everything was truly good.

So nice that you have the watermouth castle on site for a full day out. Also great that there is an onsite soft play area, outdoor park and swimming pool. This helped fill up some early evening time for ourselves and child when we wanted to have drinks. We did not eat at the site but the food looked good and well priced would in future if we returned which I'm sure we will.

The lodges are close together so aren't very private, but they are spaced out enough that it's not like a caravan site.

Nice kitchen fittings. Comfortable sofa. Spacious bathroom with spa bath. Very clean. Own little outside patio with Rattan seating (although weather not suitable to use it). Well fitted with plugs for electrical devices. Very neat round dining table (although triangular seats were a little odd!). Plenty of storage space. Very near Berrynarbour harbour and a pleasant walk up to lookout turret.

Bit of a slog up the steps with heavy cases to the lodge. Bed had a bit of a dip in the middle. Could have done with basic instructions for the microwave, (perhaps in the folder) . Being short (under 5 foot) had to get my husband to get glasses etc. down from the cupboard (another time I’ll bring a step stool with me!) as they were way too high and far back. No mop to dry up splashes from the spa bath. These were minor points, overall very impressed with the lodge.

The property was lovely, very comfortable. Very large bathroom with shower and spa bath. Very clean. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well. The lodge was spacious even though was only for 2 of us. We had adequate storage for all our stuff and plenty of plug sockets for charging items which we sometimes find lacking in other places we have stayed. The location is very beautiful and quiet. Lots of fabulous costal walks on the door step. Bus stop just outside the castle which provided regular and reliable buses to Ifracombe, Banstaple and Combe Martin. We will definitely return.

It was a bit more out of the way than we were expecting. I think a little shop for getting basics would have been useful as the nearest shop was a car ride away. There was milk available from reception but that didn’t open till 9.00. In the lodge where we stayed the parking was very tight, the roads are narrow with a steep grass bank on one side. We only have a very average sized car but parking so you could get out easily was very difficult especially when crowded. Wifi signal was not good so really couldn’t use my computer which I brought to look up tourist attractions, bus routes etc. probably could have done with oven gloves and kitchen towel. These minor niggles did not detract from the over all positive experience.

The location is great, the cabin was clean and tidy and very comfortable. There are so many beautiful places nearby it was great. All of the employees were friendly and helpful.

The only thing that could be improved is the bathroom. Whilst having a bath is great, it was a massive jacuzzi bath that did not work and the bathroom looked a little tired and needed updating. But it was usable, clean and the shower was great.

Watermouth Lodges is a perfect staycation for family and friends. The location is near all the main attractions and on the picturesque coastline of North Devon. We had a seaview from the lodge. We planned a family trip with a toddler and an elderly parent. The site is very accessible and we could park the car outside our lodge. The kitchen had everything you need, even a washing machine and dishwasher. So it was a great budget option if you want to cook, as Lidl and Co-op is within a short driving distance, or pick up a takeaway. I highly recommend the stay at Watermouth Lodges, especially for families as both my 75-year-old dad old and my 2 year old niece both had a lovely time to rest and space to walk around.

Found a few spots a bit dirty (Hair in the toilet, blood stains in a bedroom sheet). Living room / kitchen was cluttered, missing a few lights in the toilet making hard to see, the view of the lodge was right in front of 3 huge bins which was not what the photos (photos of the lodge we booked had a beautiful view but not what we actually ended up to have) wifi signal inside the lodge was poor to non existing, making it hard to work (I do not recommend this lodge if you coming on a business trip). No bedside table and table light in one of the rooms. The parking spot by the side of the lodge is for 3 cars but it is impossible to park 3 cars, unless the 3 cars are mini or the smart cars, so I had to keep my car on the main road if my neighbours had their cars parked there.

Fabulous location. Beautiful views. Peaceful and quiet. Even though the site was full it didn't feel overcrowded. Friendly, efficient and caring staff - especially at reception. Great bar pool and terrace area.

The restaurant was only open from 5pm till 8pm and the bar closed at 9pm. As a result there were never many people in either. Shame because they are great places to sit and savour the location and views
