From the moment I checked in to the regretful and sad part of having to check out, every member of staff that I met on my stay was so welcoming, so friendly. The locals that used the bar were just as welcoming and friendly. The staff and the locals all made you feel like a member of the community. The breakfasts were hot and freshly cooked, I had evening meals from their menu most nights and again they were hot and tasty and made to order. My room was large, clean and serviced daily, the bed was one of the best I've slept in for a long time when I stay away from home, yes I paid for an upgraded room so I could enjoy the sea views and it was well worth the money. I would highly recommend The Royal Britannia Hotel to anyone that's planning a visit long or short stay 100%.

The only thing I didn't like was having to check out and leave such lovely, friendly staff and locals behind.

Good location next to harbour, lovely view from our room (32), spacious room with large 4 poster bed which was very comfortable. Great night's sleep. Only a short walk from Ropery car park, shops and restaurants. Good bar and terrace area, with sea views. Good menu in bar. Great check in and check out times.

Although bathroom facilities were adequate in need of some minor refurbishment. Albeit the 4 poster bed was comfortable it is a word of warning to any amourous couples you might want to take a toolkit with you and tighten up the nuts and bolts on the bed frame. It can be very squeaky during vigorous activities. LOL.

The location is premium, on the harbour where you can enjoy the changes in tide and the night lights. We had a room with a view and it was fab. Large bedrooms and good facilities. Bar staff is efficient and friendly.

The staff at breakfast felt harassed and stressed and not as friendly as everybody else. The full English was 1 egg, 2 bacon strips and 2 hash brown soft and soggy. It was very disappointing. Next day I took a bacon sandwich to avoid a repeat and got a buttered bread bacon sandwich, with not enough bacon to cover the entire bread. The coffee, was ... lightly coloured water.

Friendly Staff at check in, food/drink serving and around the site. Ideal location. Food was great for evening meal (including kids menu) and the breakfast. All very fresh and good quality. Child & dog friendly restaurant with relaxed atmosphere. Adequate room for a night with good, clean en-suite. Quiet and comfortable.

There are lots of stairs and uneven floors that could be a problem for some people. There is no specific parking but very close by there is parking which offers 24hr parking with RingGo app at £9.50 a day (up to 7 days available).

Visited for a weekend in late June. We were in the sea view room and the view was stunning - watching the boats and tide go in and out of the pier. The staff were polite and accommodating. The room was spacious and a good fan was provided as we went in high heat! The location is great - the best bars and cafes were one minute from the front door and easy travel for the excursions from the pier. If we come again we would stay here.

The room was clean and spacious. Beds were super comfy. I slept like a log and we spent the majority of our time on our beds so the fact that we were comfortable was ideal. Breakfast was filling and freshly cooked. My son had the kippers which made a nice change for him as it's not something usually offered on a breakfast menu. I had the full english as I'm a creature of habit, both of which were just what we needed to set us up for the day and very reasonably priced too. We booked in advance which saved us a couple of pounds but would have happily paid the full price. Christmas day lunch in their sister restaurant was amazing and well worth the price. The staff in both sites were amazing, helpful, polite and courteous.

So many stairs! In fairness there weren't actually that many, but I struggle with stairs sometimes especially when lugging Christmas presents up and down them. We had a really nice sized shower but my personal preference is that I just love to have a bath. So to be clear, these aren't really negatives as they're just my personal preferences. They didn't make our stay bad and we'd definitely recommend this place to others.

Liked the location of the hotel. Good size room . Friendly staff. Food was lovely too. Loved the shower!

I wasn't that keen on the metal bed frame as it kept squeaking, every time I got in or out. But that is just my preference. I did not like the mould in the corner of the room by the window. The paint/ paper started to have a bubbling from mould.

The hotel staff were pleasant and always tried to help or got the right person to help you. Room was upgraded to a large double free of charge to allow more room for our dogs. Breakfast was very good. All rooms were cleaned daily’s

Stair case was a little narrow. Parking would have been more difficult in the high season and nearest car parks were 5minutes walk away.

We arrived at 9.30pm on a rainy Friday in September and cheekily asked if the hotel had a room with a view available. To our delight the lovely man at reception upgraded us to a large room with a great view of the harbour. The room was spacious and comfortable and we passed a very pleasant evening.

Having a fridge in the room would have been nice, but as that was not advertised I don't think that is cause for complaint!

I loved everything about this hotel, the sea view rooms are just perfect. It was definitely what I needed for a night of relaxation. We arrived and upon check in we were upgraded rooms at no extra cost, I enquired about a late check out and we were also given this for no extra cost.

Only downfall to my stay was that the room didn't have a bath, just a shower facility and the cleaner I found rather rude as we hadn't checked out at the usual time. It will definitely not put me off staying again, infact I'm already looking to book a longer stay in January.
