The interior of our room 6T was spotless, great heated swimming pool, great food & lovely staff. Look out for Bear the cat he loves a fuss. They appear to be updating the property will be great when finished.

The outside of the windows could do with a wipe down & balcony’s/stairs need some talc. The fridge needs replacing as very noisy at times. Could do with an outdoor area for children to play.

The booking payments didn’t match up to the website. I didn’t like how the payment for the holiday was manually taken from the card a few days later when the website states pay at properly. The woman on the phone tried 3 times before phoning me (a bit impolitely) saying I need to pay Booking.com website is wrong. The page/emails also says security deposit payable at the property or phonecall in advance. They again just took it from the card WITHOUT even obtaining my permission or phoning me, when I actually wanted to pay this from a different card. I think there are some concerning issues around how card details are used/stored and possibly in contravention with regulatory rules. The stay was lovely, but they need to take managing peoples financial details more seriously.

The location was good, on a hill, though, so if you're arriving without a car, there's a lot of hill walking. The room had a sea view 😍 Everything you need in the kitchen area. Toilet roll a d tea and coffee provided. Dog friendly.

Pool was not open - main reason we booked this accommodation was for the pool. Soft play wasn't open untill our last day and only from 3pm. Food in the restaurant was out my price range but the kids meals were £7 so they was affordable. Room next door came home on nye at 4am and stayed up partying till 9am. Loud and banging around so that wasn't a good start to our new year.

Our room had a sea view, so that was lovely in the morning , we had no noise around us so slept really well the room was clean & equiped with tea making facilities ,they have an indoor pool which we didnt use but did look nice & clean ,the staff were great In the bar & club went out of their way nothing was to much trouble , we had a few meals there couldnt fault it they were all delicious the Sunday roast was beautiful all home cooked ,so compliments to the chefs ,we did manage to walk to the harbour & shops ,was great going down hill but struggled uphill but there are plenty of car parks in the centre ,the earlier you go the better so all in all had a lovely stay & would definitely return at some point .

We can honestly say there is not one thing we disliked all week

Deulux Studio room with kitchen and sea view(251): Room was newly renovated. very clean. very comfortable beds. very good shower (hot water will eventually run out if you are in for a very long time). Basic kitchen items provided (1 cup/plate/fork etc per person, basic pans, 1 sharp knife). It was quiet in our rooms location (251) but it was the very end of the summer holidays. Location is great for exploring the area. We didn't use the onsite facilities so can't comment on those. Unit 251 doesn't have parking outside or that close to it, you park in the main car park and walk 2 minutes to it, just an FYI for others. Majority of units you can park right outside the front. There is a Tesco very close by (10 min walk, 3 min drive)

front door to the unit needs a curtain for the glass for better privacy and at night time, it has a thin net curtain only so I put up a towel. No soap provided in bathroom (was a little bit of washing up liquid, 1 roll of toilet roll).

The cutlery in the kitchen was poor quality and unmatching and most of the crockery and cutlery needed to be washed prior to use When I came to pick up the keys from the bar my booking had been missed. The bar staff had to reopen reception to investigate the issue which they did happily and successfully but it did take a long while to pick up my keys The website needs updating. It showed the Monkey Puzzle restaurant to be closed on a day I hoped to have breakfast there but I discovered it was open when it was too late to make use of it wuich was a shame.

- Really friendly staff, who were wonderful with our boys and very helpful - Apartment was very clean and had everything we needed - Space for travel cot in the twin room - Pool was lovely and all pool areas very clean - Quick response from reception and maintenance team to fix bathroom light bulb - Overnight was quiet and slept well We felt a bit nervous to stay, particularly given some reviews we had read. We didn't encounter the problems mentioned by others - for the most part, the apartment was smart and well-presented, clean, with good facilities. The extras (soft play, kids club etc) made this trip even more family friendly.

- Some minor signs of wear but nothing that was problematic or unexpected given the price.

Apartment kitchen very clean and well equipped. Bathroom very clean. Bedrooms and bedding very clean The whole apartment good size. We didn't eat in the restaurant but when passing the Sunday lunch layout looked amazing. The children's soft play was a big hit with my grandchildren, they also enjoyed the play area up by the cinema. Didn't use the swimming pool but it looked amazing. The whole place looked well maintained and clean. Enjoyed the kids entertainment, kids loved the monkey and then dancing along with the entertainer on stage. All staff I encountered were very helpful and welcoming.

The outside of apartments looking a little shabby, not strutual just need a clean and spruce up. Dinning chairs in apartment need a good clean, we're quite stained.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed using the heated pool and sauna. Apartment was basic, yet spacious and had everything we needed. Ample space for car parking. Enjoyed watching the baby seagulls on the roof opposite. Entertainment looked great, but only stayed for one night. Hopefully next time will stay for 1 week.

Honestly, the only thing we didn't like was getting woken up at 1.30am by others staying there. The floors above(or possible below) were creaky and could hear their loud voices and tv for about an hour. The bed only had 1 thinnish pillow, possible having 2 would be more comfortable. Or at least having the option. There was no explanation on Booking.com re the £75 security deposit, until the site emailed me. So it was quite a surprise when we got that email. The walk into Illfracombe was ok, but did take a wrong turn. Maybe having some directions in the apartment could be useful. The walk back is very steep, so was all a bit tired to use the bar and entertainment when we returned on the evening.

The apartment we had looks like it had been newly renovated and was clean with plenty of towels, a kettle and tea/coffee sachets. A little cooler fridge which was handy. We only stayed one night as a journey break. Walls a bit thin and water tank noise till late. Did go quiet after midnight. When the whole of the repairs and renovating are complete, which I could see has started. It would be a nice place to stay.

A bit noisy with water tanks filling and can hear people in nextdoor talking, so sound proofing could help.
